Good? The main thread earlier today reported that spectators had their cars impounded also. People who were not doing doughnuts and what not.
Reminds me of FBI goon arresting spectators at the Capitol on J6 who also were not committing any crimes.
There’s a fine line between upholding the law and abusing it.

Sheriff Informs 88 "Street-Takeover" Thugs That Their Cars Are Impounded Indefinitely
It would be hard not to impound a vehicle belonging to an innocent. Reporter ran with the opposite narrative. Makes me wonder if the Sheriff has higher aspirations.
Oh well. Law enforcement is a fluid situation.
As I noted on the other thread: Even though these are truly bad actors there are nevertheless serious Fourth and Fifth Amendment issues here.
Or does lawlessness abrogate the Rule of Law?
Read up on him just a bit. Unopposed for reelection. That means he’s doing a good job. Sounds popular. Rudy was that kind of mayor. Somebody’s gotta be the bad guy sometimes. Trump’s doin’ it. He’ll be sheriff for 10 years unless he runs for another office. Will the state be ready for him?
+1
Personally, I’m ok with it, as it’s likely they’ve already tried every other approach and have just been laughed at by this bunch - given how broken down California’s ‘justice’ system is (other than for conservatives).
I suspect that the police will not be allowed to hang on to the cars very long or even want to - more likely they’re trying to get the ATTENTION of these bastards. And also, cars aren’t people (as in Jan 6th).
Their insurance rates should go through the roof.
“Good? The main thread earlier today reported that spectators had their cars impounded also.”
I’m not familiar with the circumstances, but if the “spectators” were there for the express purpose of watching the illegal activity, then they’re accessories. JMHO.
“Insurance? We don’t need no STINKIN’ insurance!”
Yeah, many of them. In which case, charge them with that as well.
Fine and well, but some of us take an oath to uphold the CONSTITUTION of these United States—even when it is inconvenient.
COVID made my inner Libertarian go viral.
Many are driving without a license or a license suspended until >2050....won't make much difference. But, yeah, add that to the charges.
Were they blocking traffic? Just asking because I don’t know.
No it’s not good. Charge them with crimes, possibly including reckless endangerment, noise violations etc. Then put them on trial. Then let the court issue a verdict.
A sheriff imposing his own fines and penalties and taking property without due process is an abuse of the system of justice.
Yes, charge them with accessory. Cops should not be deciding the verdict and penalties.
If no spectators were out there, these guys would pull this
about twice and quit.
It’s the crowds that get them out there. No, the spectators
were not spinning out. They were encouraging the ones who were.
I’m not sure how the fines will break down.
I’d be surprised if the final charges hit the spectators as
heavily, but this needs to be stopped.
Impounding all cars there other than people who lived
there drives the point home. STOP
Why should someone have to tell any of them, this is wrong.
People are getting harmed out there.
