A man has pleaded guilty to murder after stabbing his 19-year-old wife to death at their home in south London. Sahil Sharma plunged a knife into his wife Mehak Sharma’s neck at a property in Ash Tree Way, Croydon, on October 23 last year. The 24-year-old then rang 999 shortly after 4.15pm and confessed to the call operator that he’d killed her. A gang of 30 thieves have been charged after stealing 133 tonnes of chicken from a factory in one of the rarest heists in history. Thieves took 1,660 white boxes packed with meat from a state facility in Cuba’s capital city of Havana. They then went on to sell the food on the street and used the money to buy laptops, TVs, fridges and air conditioners. The Florida Legislature got an unlikely shout-out earlier this month. China Weekly, a Chinese language publication, mentioned a Florida bill that would ban the sale and manufacturing of cultivated meat, also sometimes referred to as lab-grown meat. If the bill passes, Florida would be the first state to ban the sale of cultivated meat. The industry worries Florida’s action could cause other states to follow suit. A lawmaker in Alabama has proposed a similar ban, and bills in New Hampshire, Oklahoma and Iowa would impose other restrictions on these products.
