When I announced my candidacy for the United States Senate in 2021, I made my motivation clear: Wesley and I want to preserve the American Dream for our children – and for generations to come. Never before has this mission been more urgent than today. The American Dream is a timeless promise – one that says if you work hard and seize opportunity, you can achieve more than your parents before you. That’s the Dream that allowed me, a public-school girl from Alabama’s Wiregrass region and the daughter of two small business owners, to be elected to the U.S. Senate...

On Wednesday, December 6, 2023, the United States House of Representatives passed the CARS Act, which would defend American auto manufacturers, workers, and consumers from an unconstitutionally over-regulatory U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the many other related federal efforts to effectively ban normal petroleum-powered vehicles. Passing the House isn’t enough, of course. Like any other bill, it must pass the U.S. Senate and be signed into law – or override a veto – in order to go into effect. But it’s still worthwhile because bills like this one force politicians to go on the record, providing a legitimate campaign...

Former President George W. Bush intends to vote in the 2024 presidential election, but he might write in the name of his brother, Jeb Bush — or his late Scottish terrier, Barney. Though joking, Bush echoed a concern many Americans cite about two of the prospective candidates: their age. “I predict that most Americans think we’re too damn old at the top,” Bush, 77, said. “I’m too old to be president. I know what it takes to be president, and I’m younger than Biden and Trump.” Bush is about four years younger than current President Joe Biden and about one...

WASHINGTON (AP) — White House officials will take more time to review a sweeping plan from U.S. health regulators to ban menthol cigarettes, an unexpected delay that anti-tobacco groups fear could scuttle the long-awaited rule. Administration officials indicated Wednesday the process will continue into next year, targeting March to implement the rule, according to an updated regulatory agenda posted online. Previously, the rule was widely expected to be published in late 2023 or early January.

At a certain point you just start laughing at the insufferable corporate club, a corporation we call the RNC and all those therein. It’s not really fair to blame Ronna, because just about any other corporate officer from within the corporation would provide the same outcome. We are in the house latitudes. Despite declining mortgage rates, the University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index Buying Conditions for Housing fell to 44. Except that Shoeless Joe was accused of accepting $5,000 to throw the World Series in 1919. Clueless Joe Biden and family...

A grand jury empaneled in the Central District of California — which comprises Los Angeles — handed down an indictment against Hunter Biden. The Biden administration on Thursday opened the door to seizing the patents of certain costly medications from drugmakers in a new push to slash high drug prices and promote more pharmaceutical competition. The administration unveiled a framework outlining the factors federal agencies should consider in deciding whether to use a controversial policy, known as march-in rights, to take patents for drugs developed with taxpayer funds and share them with other pharmaceutical companies if the public cannot “reasonably” access the medications. Doing so could lead to the development of lower-priced generic alternatives, which could cut into key drug companies’ profits and...
