The US electric car market continues to grow strongly. Yes, Tesla still dominates (that’s not changing anytime soon), but several other automakers are also seeing fast-growing full electric vehicle (BEV) sales, and the number of BEV options on the market has exploded in recent quarters. Overall (lacking just a little bit of data from automakers who are stingy with their stats), the US electric vehicle market grew 147% from Q2 2021 to Q2 2023. It grew 57% from Q2 2022 to Q2 2023. Let’s dig into the details a bit. As you can see in the chart just above, the...

Representative Jamie Raskin (D-MD) said Friday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that he believes Reps. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) and Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) will “end their political careers by shutting down the government for no reason.” Raskin said, “Donald Trump is calling the shots across the board. He thinks he can shut down his indictments and the work of the special counsel and the Department of Justice and the federal courts by getting Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Greene and three other members of the MAGA caucus to derail the House and shut down the government of the United States.”

The NFL's first transgender cheerleader has slammed North Carolina for banning transgender women from women's sports - as she insisted that her role is 'setting things up for the younger generation.' President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign scheduled Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) to attend Wednesday’s Republican primary debate as a surrogate. Biden’s decision to send Newsom is noteworthy because some political experts believe Newsom will replace Joe Biden atop the Democrat ticket. Many Democrats fear that Joe Biden, 80, is too old to serve four more years. Newsom will attend the debate in Simi Valley, California, to spin the Republican candidates’ “extreme” rhetoric and “out of touch views.” Along with Newsom, Joe Biden also will send Biden-Harris campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez and Democrat National Committee Chair Jamie Harrison.

Since early 2021 we have witnessed somewhere between 7 and 8 million illegal entries across the now nonexistent U.S. southern border. The more the border vanished, the more federal immigration law was rendered inert, and the more Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas spun fantasies that the “border is secure.” He is now written off as a veritable “Baghdad Bob” propagandist. But how and why did the Biden administration destroy immigration law as we knew it? The Trump administration’s initial efforts to close the border had been continually obstructed in the Congress, sabotaged by the administrative state, and stymied in the courts....

By Rand Paul Today I am putting leadership of the House, the Senate, and the President of the United States on notice. I will not consent to the expedited passage of any spending measure providing more American aid to Ukraine. Simply put: We have no extra money to send to Ukraine. Our deficit this year will exceed $1.5 trillion. Borrowing money from China to send to Ukraine makes no sense. Since the beginning of Russia’s war in Ukraine, the American taxpayer has provided Kiev $113 billion. Over the 583 days of war between February 24, 2022 and the end of...

Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson announced on Friday that he is switching parties from a Democrat to a Republican. Johnson announced the change in an op-ed that was published in the Wall Street Journal on Friday. "Next spring, I will be voting in the Republican primary. When my career in elected office ends in 2027 on the inauguration of my successor as mayor, I will leave office as a Republican," Johnson wrote. Prior to being elected the mayor of Dallas in 2019, Johnson represented Dallas in the Texas Legislature for nine years as a Democrat. "I was never a favorite of...

...Excavations in Boğazköy-Hattusha have been going on for more than 100 years under the direction of the German Archaeological Institute. These tablets, which were included in the UNESCO World Documentary Heritage in 2001, provide rich information about the history, society, economy and religious traditions of the Hittites and their neighbors.Yearly archaeological campaigns... continue to add to the cuneiform finds. Joe Scarborough frequently boasts about his Baptist upbringing, steeped in the Bible. Joe might like to refresh his memory of Proverbs 24:17-18: Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth. Lest the Lord see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him. Scarborough and his Morning Joe gang spent much of the opening segment of today's show rejoicing with gladdened hearts over the fall of Rudy Giuliani. Rudy Giuliani surely brought some of his troubles on himself, but Morning Joe's schadenfreude over his apparent downfall was no...

In what may be the most disturbing story I have ever read about a tragedy happened in Pennsylvania when a semi-truck was hit and tipped over. The driver suffered minor injuries, but the ice cream tragically didn’t make it. Several ice cream containers spilled out on the turnpike after the truck was hit in a hit-and-run incident by another semi. It took several hours to clean up and had the freeway closed. Can you imagine what it would be like to drive into an ice cream slick? Probably similar to hitting a bunch of ice and slush on the road...

Republican presidential hopeful Nikki Haley, a staunch supporter of providing U.S. aid to Ukraine, criticized former President Donald Trump on the campaign trail, asserting he is “weak in the knees when it comes to Ukraine.”Speaking at an event in New Hampshire, where she has surpassed Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in some surveys, Haley attempted to tread lightly when it came to criticizing the former president.“He was the right president at the right time,” she said when asked, essentially, what Trump’s legacy will be 100 years from now.She critiqued Trump not only on fiscal policy but also on his position on...
