Trump’s years in the White House, his aides began to refer to the boxes full of papers and odds and ends he carted around with him almost everywhere as the “beautiful mind” material. It was a reference to the title of a book and movie depicting the life of John F. Nash Jr., the mathematician with schizophrenia played in the film by Russell Crowe, who covered his office with newspaper clippings, believing they held a Russian code he needed to crack. The phrase had a specific connotation. The aides employed it to capture a type of...

Let's start with the magic of creating a human: Many resources state that there are 79 known organs in the human body. Together, these structures keep us alive and make us who we are.Every baby has unique DNA, except for identical twins which have the nearly the same DNA, save for minor mutations. You start with a tiny sperm and egg which hook up to start the development of a child, not a blob. The sperm resides in a male's testicles. The eggs reside in a female's ovaries. In a few short months, this tiny sperm and egg develop into...

SOLEMNITY OF THE MOST SACRED HEART OF JESUS Matthew 11:25-30 Friends, in today’s Gospel, the Lord offers to relieve our burdens: “Take my yoke upon you . . . and you will find rest for yourselves.” Jesus almost always speaks in paradoxes, and this is another one. “I will put a yoke on you.” Now, if I am burdened, the last thing I want is a yoke that will make my life more burdensome. But here’s the paradox: What is it that makes our lives heavy and weighed down? Precisely the burden of our own egos, the weight of one’s own...

Protests are not an unusual sight at McGill University in Montreal. Student activism is something of a vaunted tradition at our school. But March’s Israeli Apartheid Week was not a peaceful civil rights protest. No one was hurt, as far as I know, but rhetoric can be just as damaging. The same week as the McGill demonstration, a radicalized teenager filmed himself ripping down and burning an Israeli flag in front of a Montreal Jewish day school. He did not injure anyone, but his actions represented a powerful and deeply unsettling statement. As I approached the McGill library, I heard...

This alleged $5 million bribe wasn't so much of a bribe. It was more of a shakedown by The Big Guy, Joe Biden. He was shaking down the Ukrainian. The Federalist is reporting that Biden coerced the...

A high-ranking Space Force officer has spoken out slamming a slew of recent anti-LGBTQ state laws, saying they have a negative impact on military families and force readiness. Lt. Gen. DeAnna Burt made the remarks in a fiery speech at the 12th Annual DoD LGBTQ+ Pride Event in Washington DC, saying that the laws sometimes forced her to choose 'less qualified' candidates for postings in those states. 'Since January of this year, more than 400 anti-LGBTQ+ laws have been introduced at the state level,' said Burt, the Space Force's deputy chief of space operations. 'That number is rising and demonstrates...
