Jim Jordan (R-OH), arguing the investigation was a “transparent campaign to intimidate and attack” his case against former President Donald Trump. JERUSALEM — The Greek Orthodox Church on Wednesday accused Israeli police of infringing on the freedom of worshippers with “heavy-handed” restrictions on how many pilgrims can attend the “Holy Fire” ceremony amid soaring tensions. Israeli police said the limits are needed for safety during Saturday’s celebration at the ancient Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the 12th-century holy site where Jesus is believed to have been crucified, buried and resurrected. Saturday’s “Holy Fire” celebration comes during an unusual spate of violence in the Old City, touched off by an Israeli police raid on Jerusalem’s most sensitive holy site, the compound that’s...

Pulmonary hypertension, or high blood pressure in the lungs, is a common complication of interstitial lung disease, an array of conditions that cause scarring of the lungs. Without treatment, it can be life-threatening. But currently, the only way to diagnose pulmonary hypertension definitively is through an invasive outpatient procedure called right heart catheterization, which measures pressures inside the heart and lungs using a small device inserted through a neck vein. The study identified which variables were the strongest predictors of pulmonary hypertension. It also found a combination of variables could predict the condition with high accuracy. In its latest study,...

Two new studies shed light on current U.S. hospital practices. In the hospital pricing study, the researchers analyzed prices for 70 common "shoppable" services disclosed by 2,379 U.S. hospitals as of September 2022 under the new Hospital Price Transparency Rule that went into effect in 2021. For their analysis, the researchers used data from Turquoise Health, a data service company that collects hospital pricing information. On average across the 70 services, for nearly half of these services—47%—the cash prices were lower than or the same as the median insurance-paid prices for the same procedure in the same hospital and service...

For decades, progressives have been aggressively informing us that they are devout fans of “diversity” and “multiculturalism.” These words have taken on an almost totemic significance, with “diversity is our strength” becoming a mantra for Canadian lefties. I have my quibbles with these buzz-words—diversity is a description, not a value—but I have often found myself wishing, over the past few years, that those who brandish these terms actually believed in them. What we have found as the LGBT movement achieved cultural dominance is that for progressives, “diversity” is where people look different, but think the same. Thus, Western nations (primarily...

A group of traditionalist clergy in the City of London have...

Researchers have been investigating how fungi can replace or benefit existing computer architectural components. Studies have recently been completed that show it is possible to implement basic logical circuits and basic electronic circuits with mycelium – the network of fungal threads usually hidden deep beneath the fruiting fungus body. Founded in 2001, the Unconventional Computing Laboratory at the University of the West of England in Bristol, UK, is behind the headlining work. The lab certainly lives up to its name with its research involving fungi. At the university is the UK’s only so-called ‘wet lab’, which mixes chemicals, liquids, biological...

At least one preliminary report from industry experts suggests Bud Light’s decision to partner with transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney has resulted in financial losses for the company. Multiple bar owners across the country — including one in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan — confirmed that Bud Light sales dropped significantly over the Easter weekend. "They've already done enough damage in one week to disrupt yearlong sales projections," a beer sales representative who works with retailers such as Costco told Fox Business. The question, then, is why Bud Light would risk such a financial backlash in the first place. Why would the company...

The man behind a massive leak of U.S. government secrets that has exposed spying on allies, revealed the grim prospects for Ukraine’s war with Russia and ignited diplomatic fires for the White House is a young, charismatic gun enthusiast who shared highly classified documents with a group of far-flung acquaintances searching for companionship amid the isolation of the pandemic. United by their mutual love of guns, military gear and God, the group of roughly two dozen — mostly men and boys — formed an invitation-only clubhouse in 2020 on Discord, an online platform popular with gamers. But they paid little...
