The Russia-Ukraine war sparked an international drive to increase the production of arms. Despite not directly arming Ukraine, South Korea has taken the lead in arms production & its export. Ally South Korea reached an agreement to lend the US 500,000 rounds of 155 mm artillery shells. This could give Washington greater flexibility to supply Ukraine with ammunition.

Zelensky’s latest admission: In a recent interview with Japanese newspaper Yomiuri Shimbun he declared that “We do not have ammunition. For us the situation in the East is not good.”
Zelensky’s admission adds credence to what the Washington Post recently reported regarding how poorly Kiev’s forces are faring in this conflict, especially its “severe ammunition shortages” that one of its sources spoke about.
Ukrainian Lieutenant Colonel Andrey Marochko:
Kyiv’s forces are losing at least 500 fighters in the area of Bakhmut on a daily basis.
to lend the US 500,000 rounds of 155 mm artillery shells.

And Biden will give them to China,
And South Korea will get them back, mostly.
Biden needs 500k shells to go along with the $200 billion to Ukraine.
South Korea actually has capacity to make munitions in bulk. They have a nutcase country armed to the teeth north of them and don’t want to be reliant on anyone for their national survival.
The obvious answer is to give them to Ukraine. The NON-obvious answer is to do their best to disarm anyone who could stand against China in a battle in Asia.
“Why is South Korea lending 500,000 rounds of artillery shells to the US?”
Most likely because we told them that we’d bring our troops back home if they weren’t willing to disarm for Ukraine. After all, why on earth would South Korea even need artillery shells in such a peaceful and non-threatening part of the world?
But South Korea is “sovereign” according to Blinken, Kirby, and Biden, thus how could they possibly resort to strong arming a “sovereign” nation?
But that doesn’t fit in with Biden’s MO which is to militarily go against those countries that are pro-Putin (like China).
Because the Kim regime in NK is stable and imposes no threat to SK, and SK wouldn’t need them in the event of China’s invasion of Taiwan...../S/
Reportedly the Norks have been sending ammo to Russia so at least they have gotten weaker too.
500,000/87,000 = about 6 artillery shells per each new IRS agent
Out of pity?
Why ... because the USA cannot get a payday loan, that is why.
America's careering towards third wordlism is picking up momentum. biden has made us a laughing stock.
He did say early in the invasion “that he didn’t need a ride, he needed ammo.”
It sounds like the situation still hasn’t been rectified.
Also, the government of the United States having to “bum” artillery shells from foreign countries, is a ‘bad look’ for a country that annually spends more than $800 billion on defense.
“Kyiv’s forces are losing at least 500 fighters in the area of Bakhmut on a daily basis.“
Russians lose equipment 3-4 times as much as the Ukrainians. These are expected ratio for an attacking army against an entrenched one. Fighter loses should be 7+ for the attacking army. By the expected math, that would put Russian loses at 3500 a day. The battle for Bakhmut has gone on for about 6 months. 4000 people a day for 180 days, puts the losses in that area alone at 750k. For those kinds of losses, the Russians would have to be actively enlisting close to two million people. The Ukrainians would need an army of 750k. How many have they tried to call up between them?
For those interested, air superiority fighter losses for both sides, 70 Russian, 35 Ukrainian, are minor compared to tank losses. The Russians seem to not be shifting air resources to support ground attack. Odd. 200-300 combat ready aircraft likely could gain air superiority and promote ground attack. Ground attack aircraft loss rates are high on both sides, but not as much recently which suggests a burnout in the air war, not enough equipment to continue.
Every war is different, but this one has really high consumption rates.
You know our current regime so well. That is what they do.
