Dozens of former federal agents fled Twitter around the time Elon Musk took over as CEO, a Daily Caller analysis found. Musk initiated his acquisition of Twitter in April of 2022 and officially took over October 27, 2022. In that time and in the months afterwards, 28 former FBI, DOJ, CIA and DHS executives employed by Twitter left the company, a Daily Caller LinkedIn search revealed. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) is set to unveil a resolution next week blasting former President Trump’s call to remove funding from the FBI and Justice Department (DOJ) over the federal investigations into him. Schumer sent a letter to his Democratic colleagues in the Senate on Tuesday that he is presenting a resolution to “defund” the federal law enforcement agencies. “Donald Trump’s call for defunding federal law enforcement agencies is a baseless, self-serving broadside against the men and women who keep our nation safe,” the letter states. “The former President and his allies in Congress must not subjugate justice...

Louise Peete died in the Caliornia gas chamber on this date in 1947. Stock of “cultured, educated people” — her words — she turned teenage delinquent, got kicked out of her private school, and commenced a colorful career as an itinerant prostitute and scam artist. Her gallantries — and larcenies — are supposed to have driven two early husbands to suicide, though given her subsequent career one can’t help but wonder. Lofie Louise Preslar (as she was born) or Louise Gould (as she came to style herself) got the surname by which she is best known from a Denver salesman...

Ukrainian forces have for months been holding at bay a gruelling Russian offensive in battered towns and heavily shelled trenches spanning the eastern front line. But now, with the Kremlin's forces running out of steam after making only incremental gains over the winter onslaught, Ukraine is preparing to hit back."If our senior military staff say we have enough troops, enough shells -- enough everything -- to attack, then we're ready," a Ukrainian serviceman, who identified himself as Mark, told AFP in the Donetsk region this week.Russia was beaten back in embarrassing defeats near the capital Kyiv, Kharkiv and Kherson last year...

Researchers have discovered a possible genetic cause for hypermobility (commonly known as double-jointedness) and a range of associated connective tissue disorders such as hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, according to preliminary findings. For those with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS), the same conditions that create fragile connective tissue can cause a range of symptoms that, on the surface, can seem unrelated: physical conditions such as joint pain, chronic fatigue, thin tooth enamel, dizziness, digestive trouble and migraines; and psychiatric disorders, such as anxiety and depression. Women with hypermobile EDS may also be at increased risk for endometriosis or uterine fibroids. Researchers have linked...

Top secret US documents that have been leaked to the public show that corporate media is blatantly lying about the level of death and overall casualties experienced by Russian military forces in their special operation in Ukraine and that the US government is using artificially low numbers provided by the Ukrainian government to cover up that nation’s true battlefield death tolls. The Ukraine leak represents the largest US intelligence leak since a decade ago, when computer intelligence consultant Edward Snowden proved to the world that the United States government was spying on its own citizens, under the guise of national...

The award-winning Mad Magazine cartoonist Al Jaffee has died at the age of 102. Jaffee died on Monday in Manhattan from multiple organ failure, according to his granddaughter, Fani Thomson. He had retired at the age of 99. Mad magazine, with its wry, sometimes pointed send-ups of politics and culture, was essential reading for teens and preteens during the baby-boom era and an inspiration for countless future comedians. Few of the magazine's self-billed 'Usual Gang of Idiots' contributed as much — and as dependably — as the impish, bearded cartoonist. For decades, virtually every issue featured new material by Jaffee....

One of the largest supermarkets in Downtown San Francisco has closed down just one year after opening due to widespread drug use, theft and aggressive behavior towards staff members. Organic food giant Whole Foods opened a new 'flagship' location at Trinity Place in the city's Tenderloin district in March 2022, hoping to revitalize footfall after two years of draconian COVID restrictions severely impacted businesses in the area. But a Whole Foods spokesperson declared the store closed down last night due to safety concerns for its staff. 'We are closing our Trinity location only for the time being,' the spokesperson said...

Russian President Vladimir Putin was waiting on a "wink" from former U.S. President Donald Trump to seize parts of Ukraine—years before Russia launched a full-scale invasion—according to a new interview. Written correspondence between former Trump campaign chair Paul Manafort and Kremlin aide Konstantin Kilimnik discussed Putin claiming part of Ukraine, saying that a "wink" from the Republican former president was needed to "make this work," former Mueller prosecutor Andrew Weissmann has said. Speaking with PBS' Firing Line and host Margaret Hoover, Weissmann said this was "such a clear indication of what Vladimir Putin was trying to do."

(Daily readings from the USCCB)Jesus said to her, “Stop holding on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am going to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” John 20:17Mary of Magdala was one of the first persons to whom Jesus appeared. She was deeply devoted to Him, especially because of the great mercy He offered her when He forgave her manifest sins and expelled seven demons from her. After He had done that, Mary became a devout follower and was one of...

Homeowners in the city of Portland, Oregon say a group of homeless people have built their own makeshift shacks overlooking the scenic Willamette River without any planning permission. The rickety cabins and tents have been built on a patch of dirt that is considered no-man's land and situated next to the Union Pacific rail yard. But for those living across the river who have paid up to one million dollars for what should be beautiful uninterrupted views, the setups are a blight on the landscape. One of the main problems is the area is that it is challenging to reach...

THE “ALBERT SENSOR” IS AN ORWELLIAN SURVEILLANCE AND CENSORSHIP ENTERPRISE FOISTED ON UNSUSPECTING COUNTY ELECTION ADMINISTRATORS Guest post from the Editor of the Estancia News, David Clements, and Erin Clements Recent bombshell articles reveal that New Mexico’s Secretary of State, Maggie Toulouse Oliver, has illegally centralized New Mexico’s elections, exposed them to the internet, processed them on uncertified software, and lied about it to the New Mexico legislature. Toulouse-Oliver has also granted the federal government essentially full access to county election systems through surveillance devices called “Albert Sensors” provided by a private, non-profit called Center for Internet Security (CIS). This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Small arms, ATGMs, MANPADS, loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles, trailers and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When the...

As team Ron DeSantis prepares for the national launch of a 2024 presidential bid, one of the campaign’s primary areas of concern is the need to create optics representing support and momentum.

The Republican presidential primary was always expected to revolve around Trump. But post-indictment, as Republicans rally to his defense — including, crucially, conservative talkers on Fox News — Trump’s opponents are confronting an even more damaging dynamic in race: Their inability to break through at all.
