Matt Pobereyko was a baseball pitcher and a prospect in the New York Mets minor league system, who then began playing ball in Mexico in the Mexican Pacific Winter League. He died on Friday of a heart attack while in his Chicago-area apartment. His brother, Daniel Pobereyko, confirmed his passing in a statement to NBC News: “He just dropped, and that’s all we know,. In 2019, I bought a three-bedroom, 1,400-square-feet house in Atlanta, Georgia for $196,000. I figured I could earn extra income by renting out the spare rooms on Airbnb, especially since I traveled a lot for work and was rarely home. Unfortunately, the bookings dried up in 2020. No one wanted to share a house with a stranger in the early days of the pandemic. My work travels also stopped, so I was living alone in a house that felt too big. But that May, as I stared out the kitchen window into my huge backyard, something clicked: I could use...

FIRST ON FOX: Missouri Democratic Rep. Cori Bush's campaign doled out $60,000 in private security payments last year to Cortney Merritts, who she quietly married earlier this month. Merritts, however, pocketed the security payments despite not having a St. Louis private security license, which is needed to perform security functions in the area, Fox News Digital has discovered. Merritts also received the campaign's cash as it simultaneously paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to a St. Louis security firm and another individual for personal protection. Fox News Digital filed a public records request with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department...

Disgraced Theranos CEO Elizabeth Holmes is citing her recently born child as another reason she should be allowed to delay the start of a more than 11-year prison sentence while her lawyers appeal her conviction for duping investors about the capabilities of her failed company's blood-testing technology. The birth of Holmes' second child was confirmed in court documents filed last week in advance of a March 17 hearing about her bid to remain free during an appeals process that could take years to complete. The filing didn't disclose the date of the birth or the child's gender, but the news...

Vinis also expressed her support for the governor’s leadership on the state’s housing shortage while denouncing the use...

In impassioned speech, Avichai Mandelblit says it would be court's "duty" to annul legislation, which would otherwise "abolish" Israel's liberal democracy. Former Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit described the government's judicial overhaul program on Tuesday as "a regime coup" and insisted that if the proposed legislation is approved by the Knesset, the attorney general and High Court of Justice would have "a duty" to strike it down. Mandleblit's explosive comments, which if heeded by the High Court would lead to a full-blown constitutional crisis between the government and the judiciary, come as the Knesset Constitution, Law and Justice Committee is set...

Doctors and patients should be on the lookout for symptoms of this worrying infection.A drug-resistant strain of bacteria is quickly becoming more common, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warned in a health alert. The bacteria, shigella, causes an infection called shigellosis that can come with gastrointestinal symptoms, like diarrhea and stomach cramps. An increasing percentage of shigella samples are turning out to be extensively resistant, meaning they have resistance to all five recommended antibiotic treatments, the CDC said. The news comes as norovirus, aka the stomach flu, is spreading the U.S. In 2015, no shigella infections were caused...

Despite the record-breaking scale of the blizzard pummeling Lake Tahoe, it seems some drivers are still a bit confused about the conditions of the area’s roads — or at least that’s the takeaway from some of the increasingly direct messaging coming from area CHP and sheriffs' offices around the Tahoe Basin. Officials in surrounding areas of the Sierra Nevada issued equally direct messages for drivers, including the Mono County Sheriff's Office, which told drivers Tuesday morning: “The roads are closed. All of them. There is no alternate route, back way, or secret route. It's a blizzard, people. You cannot see...

"Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. "Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, "To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me."
