President Donald Trump scored another legal victory after a federal judge moved to drop a lawsuit brought by retired Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman against Trump administration officials. Vindman, a former National Security Council aide who helped spark the political witch hunt of President Trump in 2019, suffered a major loss after U.S. District Court Judge James Boasberg dismissed his lawsuit in a 29-page opinion last week, Politico reported. Named on Vindman’s suit were President Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr., and several Trump allies, including Rudy Giuliani, former deputy chief of staff Dan Scavino, and former Deputy White House Communications Director...

NATIONAL HOMEMADE BREAD DAY On November 17th, homes will fill with warm, comforting aromas reminding us to slow down and enjoy National Homemade Bread Day. #HomemadeBreadDay Yeast bread calls for us to slow down. Other homemade breads, such as donuts, pretzels, muffins, and biscuits, add variety to our everyday meals. And making them with friends and family brings joy and an opportunity to exchange recipes....

Luke 19:41-44 Friends, in today’s Gospel passage, Jesus laments over Jerusalem because it failed to acknowledge him. He says, “They will smash you to the ground and your children within you, and they will not leave one stone upon another within you because you did not recognize the time of your visitation.” This is a thunderclap, a shock, a highly subversive thing to say. It would be something like a president-elect coming upon the White House in the midst of a crowd of his supporters and saying, “All of this will be destroyed.”But this is precisely what Jesus does here....

Last night, in a room filled with Trump supporters and the anti-Trump media, President Trump announced his intent to run for President in 2024.This morning, in response to her Uncle Donald’s announcement, Mary Trump, who is loved by the Left over her hatred for her father’s brother, tweeted:I really don't care. Do you?#ITMFA— Mary L Trump (@MaryLTrump) November 16, 2022Of course, Mary Trump, the liberal hack niece of Donald Trump, was taking a swipe at both her uncle and his beautiful wife, Melania, with her snarky remark that had she not joined forces with the Left to destroy them, would...

Breastfed babies are believed to suffer fewer allergic conditions, like eczema and food allergies, than formula-fed babies; yet the reason has not been well understood. Now, a study finds that small molecules found in most humans' breast milk may reduce the likelihood of infants developing allergic conditions like atopic dermatitis and food allergies. Atopic conditions, like food allergies, asthma and a skin condition called atopic dermatitis occur in approximately one-third of children as a result of inappropriate activation of the immune system to environmental exposures. "Infants who breastfeed beyond three months may have a lower risk for these conditions, but...

I get that he doesn’t care what I think, or what anyone thinks for that matter, but watching former President Donald Trump’s speech announcing his 2024 bid for the White House some things stuck out to me that, should he address them, would make him a better candidate. Will he take this or any advice? Probably not. Still, it’s worth putting out there just in case he wins the Republican nomination. First, Trump has significantly improved in his delivery of a teleprompter speech. In the past, when reading prepared remarks, the former President sounded awful – stilted and unfamiliar with...

A bill to enshrine the right to same-sex marriage into federal law cleared a major procedural hurdle in the U.S. Senate Wednesday, with critics saying that a religious freedom amendment added to the legislation doesn't adequately protect those with deeply held beliefs that marriage is between one man and one woman. In a 62-37 vote, the U.S. Senate invoked cloture on the Respect for Marriage Act. The support of 12 Senate Republicans enabled the bill to clear the 60-vote threshold for cloture required for most legislation to pass the Senate. Debate on the bill will continue before a final vote...

New home construction fell again last month as soaring interest rates continued to weaken demand in the housing market. Housing starts declined by 4.2 percent from September to 1.43 million units, according to Census Bureau data released on Thursday. The number of new building permits issued in October also fell from the previous month, dropping by 2.4 percent to 1.53 million. “Both starts and permits fell behind September levels and behind levels from one year ago,” Zillow senior economist Nicole Bachaud wrote in an analysis. “As the current affordability crisis burns on, builders are feeling demand for new homes slipping...

Is Israel now a mad-dog tyrannical state, arresting Palestinians in numbers that far exceed the arrest numbers In other democracies, or do the statistics show that the Israeli police arrest far fewer people than are arrested elsewhere ? More on this can be found here: “Israel haters lying with statistics, part 1: Arrest statistics,” Elder of Ziyon, November 13, 2022:Someone named Laith Hanbali, of Al-Shabaka -The Palestinian Policy Network, tweeted “Israel arrested 690 Palestinians in October. That’s about 1 Palestinian arrested every hour for a whole month!”Sounds awful, doesn’t it? Over 1300 people [who tweeted in response] thought so.This is...

To some, Trump’s announcement at Mar-a-Lago on Tuesday was music to their ears. It was the revival they had been waiting for after two years of a Biden administration that was not even a return to the swamp, but a deep-dive into the La Brea Tar Pits. As before, they were weary of being called names, lampooned, and now vilified as Mega-MAGA Republicans and a threat to the general welfare. (Incidentally, I thought the Democrats had all of the creative people on their side. Couldn’t they have done better than Mega-MAGA? It sounds like an ad for a monster truck...

On November 4, NBC’s “Today Show” had a blockbuster report on the strange attack on Paul Pelosi, husband of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. In the report, National Correspondent Miguel Almaguer cited an anonymous source close to the ongoing criminal investigation into the home invasion and assault that claimed Pelosi didn’t immediately ask for help or seek protection from police when he greeted them at his door the fateful night of the attack.“After a ‘knock and announce,’ the front door was opened by Mr. Pelosi. The 82-year-old did not immediately declare an emergency or try to leave his home....

Former Vice President Mike Pence won’t testify before the J6 Committee. He declared that Congress “has no right” to his testimony, despite previously indicating he would consider appearing before the committee. “I am closing the door on that,” Pence told Face the Nation host Margaret Brennan about testifying before the panel. “But I must say again, the partisan nature of the January 6 committee has been a disappointment to me,” Pence explained. “It seemed to me in the beginning, there was an opportunity to examine every aspect of what happened on January 6, and to do so more in the...

For older adults undergoing nonelective surgery, loneliness is associated with increased odds of death at 30 days, according to a research letter. Mary R. Shen, M.D. and colleagues examined whether loneliness is associated with postoperative mortality among a cohort of 4,453 older adults (mean age, 75.0 years) using data from the Health and Retirement Study linked to Medicare claims. Overall, 14.0 percent of the patients underwent nonelective surgery. The mean loneliness score in the cohort was 1.5. The researchers found that the unadjusted 30-day mortality rate was 1.8 percent (0.9 and 7.4 percent in the elective and nonelective groups, respectively)....
