NASA James Webb Space Telescope Multilayered Sunshield In this illustration, the multilayered sunshield on NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope stretches out beneath the observatory’s honeycomb mirror. The sunshield is the first step in cooling down Webb’s infrared instruments, but the Mid-Infrared Instrument (MIRI) requires additional help to reach its operating temperature. Credit: NASA GSFC/CIL/Adriana Manrique Gutierrez The Mid-Infrared Instrument (MIRI) on NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope has four observational modes. After measuring increased friction in one of the grating wheels used in MIRI’s medium resolution spectrometry (MRS) mode, the Webb team paused science observations using this specific mode on August...

Roughly halfway through Election Day on the East Coast, a leading political prognosticator, looking at early precinct voting patterns, concluded that the Democrats were in serious trouble. Dave Wasserman runs the non-partisan Cook Political Report, and he was watching the data from states on the East Coast and extrapolating from what he had seen by roughly 1 p.m. EST. “It’s pretty apparent from precinct-level data in VA and county-level data in FL that Democrats have a turnout problem today – one that’s unlikely to be solved in the next six hours,” Wasserman concluded. Then he got down to brass tacks,...

Ukraine has received its first delivery of NASAMS air defence systems which will "significantly strengthen" its armed forces, Defence Minister Oleksii Reznikov said on Monday. White House National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby said last month the United States was accelerating the shipment of the sophisticated NASAMS systems to Ukraine after a devastating missile barrage from Russia. "Look who’s here! NASAMS and Aspide air defence systems arrived in Ukraine!," Reznikov wrote on the Telegram messaging app, thanking Norway, Spain and the United States for the shipments. "These weapons will significantly strengthen the #UAarmy and will make our skies safer."

The title is interesting in that the acupuncturist hero is famous in Joseon times for his medical skills, but his character has not reached the level of those skills when he time travels forward to today. As people confront him and help him become the person he's known to be, they want him to "live up to his name."

Archbishop Viganò: Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI is wrong to praise the diabolical revolution of Vatican IIIt appears that in recent decades the model of the Church which has inspired the proponents of Vatican II is that of the 'civitas diaboli,' judging by the support that the Holy See offers to globalist ideology, to the neo-Malthusian delusions of the ‘green economy,’ to transhumanism, and to the entire gender and LGBT repertoire.Editor’s note: Below follows the full text of Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò’s latest essay, “DE HOC MUNDO: The ‘secularization’ of authority as a premise for religious freedom and ecumenical dialogue theorized...

President Biden has said in a pre-midterms radio interview that he feels like he’s 50 and that his looming 80th birthday seems as distant as being able to fly. “What would 80-year-old Joe tell 50-year-old Joe in this moment?” radio host Willie Moore Jr. asked Biden in the sitdown, which was recorded Sunday and aired Monday. “That I’m still 50 — that’s the first thing I’d tell him,” Biden answered. “You think I’m kidding. I’m not kidding. That’s number one. “Number two, I can’t even say that number, 80, you know. But I’m serious, I no more feel that than...

The Democrats are on their backfoot and are likely to engage in some last-ditch measures. The polls all say the same thing: Republicans will reclaim the House and Senate. The Republican know this. The Democrats know this. And most alarming, the political operatives know this. They also know what the internal polls say, which are inevitably worse for Democrats because such things aren't push polls done for public relations purposes. What's a Democrat to do? We know the Democrats are determined. They are fighting. They've got the big guns of their party, President Obama, Kamala Harris, Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton...

WASHINGTON (AP) — Joe Biden’s record is on the ballot even if his name isn’t. And no matter what Tuesday’s midterm elections bring, his presidency is set for profound changes. In public, Biden professed optimism to the end, telling Democratic state party officials on election eve that “we’re going to surprise the living devil out of people.” In private, though, White House aides have been drawing up contingencies should Republicans take control of one, or both, chambers of Congress — a scenario Biden said would make his life “more difficult.” Regardless of the outcome, the votes will help reshape the...

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Fears are growing throughout the nation's capital as record numbers of voters are turning out to polling stations across the country in an effort to end democracy as we know it. Leaders of both parties have been conducting closed-door meetings to determine what should be done. "In a nation built on democracy, we simply cannot afford to have this many people making their voices heard in a democratic fashion," said one high-ranking member of Congress under the condition of anonymity. "If we let everyone in the country legally vote to choose the nation's leadership, democracy itself may...

In a romantic tale full of twists but a happy ending, a Rajasthan woman changed her gender to marry another woman who she had been dating for a few years. Now known as Aarav Kuntal, the teacher married his student Kalpana recently. Their marriage although unconventional was wholeheartedly accepted by their parents. Aarav who was previously known as Meera used to teach Kabaddi in the government school where Kalpana used to study as per media reports. In 2016, a friendship blossomed between Meera (Aarav) and Kalpana. They remained close friends for 2 years. Later, in 2018, Meera (Aarav) proposed to...

His Fraudulency Joe Biden is refusing to commit to a post-midterm press conference and will be fleeing the country a little over 36 hours after polls close on Election Day. Just ten days ago, and likely due to the fact that the red wave writing was clearly on the wall by then, the White House announced Biden would leave Thursday for Egypt to attend something called the COP 27, a globalist thing involving the corrupt United Nations and dedicated to furthering the Climate Change Hoax.

Ten years ago, back in the halcyon days when we simpletons believed the Republicans were at least some of the time an opposition party, and that Willard Mitt Romney was a man of probity and character, I wrote the following in the pages of National Review Online about the election that was about to take place. The piece was entitled "Crush Them."Conservatives have a rare opportunity tomorrow to do something they signally failed to do in the landslide elections of 1972 and 1984: finish the job. Nixon’s victory was vitiated by Watergate and quickly revenged by Woodward and Bernstein, leading...

Philadelphia officials voted to impose a last-minute voting rule change that will effectively slow the vote count process. The city’s three-member elections board voted 2-1 in favor of imposing poll book reconciliation – a drawn-out process that aims to prevent double votes, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

PHOENIX - Maricopa County officials say that around 20% of their polling sites are experiencing issues with tabulation machines across the Valley, just hours into Election Day. While the specific addresses and number of locations having issues have not been confirmed, the Maricopa County Recorder's Officer says technicians have been called to fix the precinct tabulator machines that aren't working.

Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes denied Monday in his sedition trial that his organization planned the January 6, 2021 assault on the US Capitol, calling those who entered the building “stupid.” He admitted under questioning by prosecutors that he has a history of opposing authorities and backing civil disobedience to the government. But he said he did nothing unlawful on the day supporters of then-president Donald Trump stormed the seat of the US Congress, and condemned those of his group who “went off-mission” and entered the building. Rhodes, on trial with four others for conspiracy to mount an armed rebellion...

Most Republicans who vote Tuesday, polls suggest, will participate in an election whose results they do not entirely trust, especially if their party loses. Partisan doubt in the nation’s electoral system has seldom run higher. Polls consistently show a solid majority of Republicans lack faith in the vote count, a trend fueled by former President Trump’s relentless and unfounded attacks on the integrity of American elections when the 2020 campaign turned against him.
