Chinese local authorities apologised Thursday (Nov 3) after a three-year-old boy died of carbon monoxide poisoning when medical care was delayed because of a COVID-19 lockdown, in a rare admission of responsibility. Local police had earlier confirmed the death of a child in a Tuesday statement but did not mention delays in accessing medical treatment.

As it's written right now, a proposed law being considered in Trenton would provide funding to schools and districts that have plans in place to deliver extra lessons to underperforming students multiple times per week. The Senate Education Committee, which Gopal chairs, received testimony on the proposal on Thursday. The bill was up for discussion only, not a vote. Multicancer early detection tests are likely to transform cancer screening in the near future, particularly if they receive strong government support, says a researcher.Detecting cancer early before it spreads throughout the body can be lifesaving. This is why doctors recommend regular screening for several common cancer types, using a variety of methods. Colonoscopies, for example, screen for colon cancer, while mammograms screen for breast cancer. While important, getting all these tests done can be logistically challenging, expensive and sometimes uncomfortable for patients. But what if a single blood test could screen for most common cancer types all at once? This...

A group of prominent Christian leaders, including the heads of major denominations, say they submitted a letter earlier this year to the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, urging members to examine Christian nationalism and arguing the ideology played a crucial role in the insurrection. Vegetarianism and veganism have been gaining popularity, but the latest fad has people eating only raw plant foods that can be consumed without cooking. Some even won’t eat foods that have been processed or changed from their natural state, such as oat or almond milk. Raw vegan diet enthusiasts claim that cooking vegetables causes a loss of nutrients and enzymes and believe that the diet will prevent or reverse disease, boost energy levels and improve overall health — but one expert warns this diet trend might actually cause more harm than good if followed for a long period of time....

VIDEOOn Saturday Politico had ELEVEN stories, all on the same topic, on their home page. The Paul Pelosi break-in. And ALL the stories had the same basic theme about how those nasty nasty Republicans are really responsible for that break-in. It looked so absurd to the point of outright nuttiness to see all those stories at the same time. A sign of desperation at Politico to hold back the Red Wave even at the risk of making themselves look just plain... NUTS!!! However today, November 3, there were NO new Paul Pelosi stories in Politico and I believe it was...
