For the left, it's all about changing the entire American 'narrative. Two of the greatest insights from the philosopher Plato are that societies are structured around symbols of justice and unity. and that societies need stories to function in an orderly way without the chaos of tyranny. For most of American history, those symbols of justice and unity were the Declaration, Constitution, flag, and churches. These symbols combined for a powerful unifying story: the story of American liberty and equality that was also inspiring the advance of liberty and equality around the world. In the maelstrom of the chaos of...

In early September, director Joshua Newton was working on the rollout of his Holocaust movie Beautiful Blue Eyes when he received a troubling email. Peter Ruppert, a digital media buyer for the film’s distributor, MovieFarm, informed Newton that Facebook had banned the filmmakers from promoting or advertising the recently finished 2009 thriller, which marks Roy Scheider’s final performance, on its platforms. The social media giant said the film’s title, which refers to the eye color of a child who perished at the hands of the Nazis and invokes a key scene in the movie, violated its policy against content that...

“Alberta holds its own,” said Manitoban Rutkowski. The province has a storied history with the mystery, including the country’s first reported crop circle dating back to 1967 near the town of Duhamel, 100 kilometres southeast of Edmonton, which was investigated by federal officials, he said. One of the more recent cases filed on the Canadian UFO report database dated Nov. 7, 2021, describes “a camouflaged triangular craft with three lights (that) suddenly went off in separate directions” over Calgary. *snip* Last March, after receiving decades of reports of drone or UAP sightings over Canadian nuclear power installations in several provinces,...

MARTHA'S VINEYARD, MA — Residents of upscale Martha's Vineyard are in a panic after several buses dropped off illegal immigrants from Florida this week. One terrified resident reportedly called the authorities after seeing Hispanic males outside her home, not even operating a leaf blower or any other kind of gardening equipment. "Hello, is this 911? Yes, there are brown-looking Latinx people outside my 20,000-square-foot seaside home, and they aren't even carrying leaf blowers," said a terrified Mavis McWhite to the dispatcher. "They aren't even holding so much as a rake. They're up to no good. I'm scared! Please send help!"

RICHMOND, Va. - Virginia has denied parole to convicted sniper killer Lee Boyd Malvo, ruling that he is still a risk to the community two decades after he and his partner terrorized the Washington, D.C., region with a series of random shootings. Malvo was 17 when he and John Allen Muhammad shot and killed 10 people and wounded three others over a three-week span in October 2002. Multiple other victims were shot and killed across the country in the prior months as the duo made their way to the nation's capital region from Washington state. Malvo was convicted of capital...

I received this in the mail today. Not only is this flier a permanent vote-by-mail application (on the reverse side), but starting this election, you may vote at ANY polling place in your County - not just the location assigned to you based on your residential address. I had no clue that they made this decision. Talk about handing Democrats victory when the three largest population centers in Illinois all vote hard blue.

  • Long-term con: Obamacare was ‘paid for’ by nationalizing student loans

    Washington Examiner ^ | August 31, 2022 | Timothy P. Carney
By nationalizing the student lending industry, which previously had federal guarantees for private banks, Obamacare would raise $58 billion in revenue over a decade. Some Democrats promised even more. “Part of the Health Care and Education Affordability Reconciliation Act of 2010 will make key changes to the student loan industry,” Sen. Tom Carper (D-DE) said. “This measure will save taxpayers nearly $70 billion over 10 years.” So to all the other ways in which this student loan bailout is objectionable, here is another one. It is yet another abandonment of the lies used to sell Obamacare. Of all the bogus...

What ever happened to the monkeypox pandemic? It was all over the news one day, then POOF!!! it was gone. Its kinda odd once the data showed that it was mostly amongst a certain lifestyle, men who have sex with men. The media quieted it down a little bit, afterall, it is midterms. ( However, I did notice that when news came out that a couple of toddlers developed it, with their father being infected as well and not the Mother, the media slammed the brakes and almost put it in their "vault of dont go there!" (Its secret location...

As word spread on Martha’s Vineyard Wednesday that a group of migrants had been flown to the island unannounced, and there was no organized plan to care for them, Tim Dobel felt like there wasn’t much that he could do. The sudden need to find shelter and medical care — not to mention the politics that fueled the decision to drop them on his community’s lap — were well beyond his control. But at the very least, he and the staff at Mocha Mott’s in Vineyard Haven could make sure they had a hot cup of coffee to keep them...

Gay men are more than twice as likely to develop inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) than heterosexual men when both populations engage in high-risk sexual activity. "To our knowledge, this is the first large population-based study that demonstrates a higher prevalence of IBD in men who engage in high-risk same-sex sexual activity," said Emad Mansoor. "Our study is expected to open a new field of research into gastrointestinal inflammatory conditions." "Studying the cause of IBD in this underrepresented patient population in comparison to other patient groups," said Fabio Cominelli, "will allow us to further investigate the cause of disease development in...

Science is supposed to be objective, an undeniable source for truth not subject to fads or fashion. The phrases “scientists say” or “the science is settled” is supposed to inspire hushed awe and open ears. Scientists are supposed to serve as arbiters of truth, at least on questions within their fields of expertise, able to settle disputes and sort fact from fiction. Many progressives, especially, employ the phrase “the science says” to silence disagreement about everything from climate policy to gender ideology. “The science,” at least in certain circles, is an authority appealed to in order to end debate and...
  • 'Game-changing' new battery for electric cars charges in 3 minutes and lasts for 20 YEARS - more than twice as long as current EV batteries

A 'game-changing' new battery for electric vehicles (EVs) that charges in three minutes and lasts for 20 years could soon be coming to new cars. Adden Energy, a start-up based in Waltham, Massachusetts, has been granted a licence and $5.15 million in funding to build the battery design at scale to fit in EVs. The battery, developed by Harvard scientists, is lithium metal, rather than lithium ion found in EVs that are already on the market. Its intricate design, inspired by a BLT sandwich, prevents the growth of troublesome 'dendrites' that grow in lithium-metal batteries and shorten their lifespan. The...

Elective cesarean section (CS) is associated with an increased risk for leukemia in offspring, according to a systematic review and meta-analysis. Yingzhu Yang, from Ningbo Women and Children's Hospital in China, and colleagues conducted a systematic literature review to identify studies evaluating the association between CS and childhood leukemia. The risk for leukemia in children born via CS versus those born vaginally was the primary outcome examined. Based on 16 studies, the researchers found that having a CS was associated with an increased risk for childhood leukemia in offspring versus having a vaginal delivery (odds ratio [OR], 1.07; 95 percent...
