MEMORIAL OF SAINT CLARE, VIRGIN MATTHEW 18:21—19:1 Friends, in today’s Gospel, Jesus teaches the necessity of constant forgiveness. Forgiveness is an act and not an attitude. It is the active repairing of a broken relationship, even in the face of opposition, violence, or indifference. When a relationship is severed, each party should, in justice, do his part to reestablish the bond. Forgiveness is the bearing of the other person’s burden, moving toward him, even when he refuses to move an inch toward you. There is something relentless, even aggressive, about forgiveness, since it amounts to a refusal ever to give...

Lena Dunham swerves directly into the culture wars, whether she means to or not. Critics X-rayed her HBO series, Girls, during its six-year run over every sexual taboo and revelation. She used a sexual metaphor to tell voters to pull the lever for President Barack Obama in 2012. And her recent clothing line for larger women got hammered in the press for not being woke enough. Dunham’s newest project, Sharp Stick, is heading in the same direction. Except this time it’s clear the film’s co-star and creator is cheering it on. The film follows a 20-something woman named Sarah Jo...

It’s not rare for major companies to take sides on political issues but it is rare for said companies to be SO vocal about it. Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream has always made it abundantly clear that it’s got leftist ideology churning through the business. But in the last month alone, Ben & Jerry's franchise has pushed leftist propaganda at least seven times. Unilever is Ben & Jerry’s parent company and wanted to transfer “its assets to local licensee Avi Zinger in Israel,” New York Post reported. Attorneys for Ben & Jerrys reportedly blocked the transfer in order to maintain...

A 19-year old man displayed a weapon at a Delray Beach McDonald’s last week because the store’s ice cream machine wasn’t working, police said. Jerry Henry had an "AK-style rifle" as he entered the McDonald’s drive-thru Aug. 13, according to NBC affiliate WPTV. Henry, the vehicle’s passenger, “became upset” upon learning that ice cream was unavailable at the McDonald’s on Linton Boulevard close to I-95. He grabbed the gun, sending restaurant employees to seek cover in the bathroom. Henry was arrested and there were no reported injuries.

Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb (R) signed a bill into law last Friday that removes the sales tax for children’s diapers. The sales tax exemption for diapers is part of the bill’s wider effort to support new and expectant mothers, a significant pro-life initiative by the state. One main way the bill backs the pro-life cause is by creating the Hoosier Families First Fund, an organization aimed at providing social services to expectant mothers. Other measures include increasing the amount of tax credits people can receive for adopting, further encouraging couples to take in children. Adoption serves as a key alternative...

SEATTLE, WA — A strong, independent woman accompanied a strong, independent woman to the restroom in a pub in downtown Seattle, according to sources. "Just because I want my bestie with me at all times doesn't mean I'm not independent!" said Kira Jules, a strong, independent woman standing next to her friend, also a strong, independent woman. The women said they have always been capable on their own as they stood in the hallway waiting for the restroom together. "I do everything on my own," said Kira's friend, Sasha Wallens, "Except when I'm out having fun, or at work, or...

A drug typically used to treat enlarged prostates and high blood pressure has shown promise as a potential new therapy for motor neuron disease (MND)—also known as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)—according to a new study. MND is a group of rare diseases that destroy nerve cells known as motor neurons, causing patients to slowly lose function of their muscles. In studies using zebrafish, mice and stem cell models, experts have demonstrated that the drug terazosin protects against the death of motor neurons by increasing their energy production. Researchers say the drug could help to slow the progression of a disease...

It should come as no surprise that Planned Parenthood doesn’t hold children high on its list of priorities. Exterminating the lives of pre-born children is its bread and butter, after all. However, at least one case illustrates how the nation’s largest abortion business is also low on sympathy for the lives of kids who have already been born. And it demonstrates how the women the abortion giant purports to champion are expendable as well. A female employee at Central Arkansas Planned Parenthood was fired. Why? Her 5-year-old autistic son was in the hospital for a brain infection. The problem for...

Alberta's associate minister in charge of women's issues Jackie Armstrong-Homeniuk says that an essay with sexist, racist and white nationalist elements never should have been awarded a prize in a contest for young women launched earlier this year. The author, identified only as S. Silver, won third prize in the "Her Vision Inspires" contest. The essay states that women are not equal to men and that their ability to bear children takes priority over trying to break into male-dominated careers.

We are here because we discuss uncomfortable truths. We accept things as they are, and not as we would wish them to be.Since the original innocuous tweet 48 hours ago, from a private account, which did not even use the name “Trump,” Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has been absolutely silent about the illicit FBI raid on the home of Florida citizen and former President Donald J Trump. DeSantis is showing us all who he really is; but are you willing to accept it?The raid on President Trump’s home is a moment for all to stand and take a position. On...

An ornate courtyard found in an otherwise humble home may have reflected the owners' aspirational vision of the future.Discoveries in Pompeii—from elaborate frescoes to garden shrines—have taught researchers a lot about the city's wealthiest residents. Until recent years, however, the lives of the lower and middle classes have garnered less interest. But now, archaeologists have excavated several rooms in a middle-class home partially destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 C.E. Frozen in time, the rooms provide a snapshot into the lives of everyday people in the ancient Roman city, according to a statement from the Archaeological Park of...

Chris Wray insists the FBI is the real victim here. NBC-DFW reported: The director of the FBI had strong words Wednesday for supporters of former President Donald Trump who have been using violent rhetoric in the wake of his agency’s search of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home. Christopher Wray, who was appointed as the agency’s director in 2017 by Trump, called threats circulating online against federal agents and the Justice Department “deplorable and dangerous.” "I’m always concerned about threats to law enforcement,” Wray said. “Violence against law enforcement is not the answer, no matter who you’re upset with.” Wray made the remarks...

Conservatives across America, and indeed, the entire Western world, have plenty of reason to embrace doom and gloom. The entire world seems to be on fire. Long-held assumptions of Western liberalism like equality under the law, free speech, and even truth itself seem to be not only under attack, but completely falling apart. Cultural Marxists have weaponized concepts of gender and race against society, unleashing radical feminism, anti-white racism, and transgenderism against normal society. Basic morality and the value of life are under assault by postmodernism and anti-religious zealots. The seed of Western Civilization—Christianity—is in freefall in the United States....

After years of Russiagate conspiracy theories about how the Russians had somehow rigged the 2016 presidential election using Facebook ads, the Senate Intelligence report awkwardly revealed that the Russian operation had focused most of its attention on black nationalists. The Senate report revealed that "most of the videos" put out by the Russian IRA troll factory on YouTube "pertained to police brutality and the activist efforts of the Black Lives Matter organization" and found that "no single group of Americans was targeted... more than African-Americans" around "race and related issues". But that was an understatement. The Russians had created their...

A study suggests a new way for hematologic oncologists to protect older patients from the risks of medication interactions. Researchers teamed up with hematologic-oncology investigators to look at the association between older patients with blood cancers who were taking multiple medications and their corresponding frailty. They also created a new scale based on a list of Potentially Inappropriate Medications (PIMs) from the NCCN Guidelines for Older Adult Oncology—called the Geriatric Oncology-Potentially Inappropriate Medications (GO-PIMs) Scale—and found it to be more effective at predicting frailty than conventional methods. "A large portion of research for older adults identifies patients as 'having polypharmacy'...

Cincinnati--Ohio State Highway Patrol officers reportedly exchanged fire Thursday morning with a man who tried to break into an FBI building in Cincinnati, Ohio. Interstate I-71 North was shut down after the suspect drove away from the scene and reportedly started firing at police from a cornfield, NBC 15 News reported. FBI negotiators have also arrived on the scene. The suspect was described as a white male over police scanner traffic, according to the News Journal. “Blood splatter on his shorts. This is why Wray and Merrick Garland thought they could get away with it. The FBI sought the sign off on the Get Trump Raid within 24 hours of Wray being questioned by the Senate. A high ranking senior Republican, Lindsey Graham “questioned” Chris Wray. Lindsey and Wray obviously really like each other. Lindsey asks Wray, how much more money does the FBi need to do its job? Wray smiles broadly like the Grinch, and Lindsey interrupts - just get me a number, and I dare anyone to say No! Lindsey Graham doesn’t ask Wray about Garland’s public threats to...
