Researchers have discovered that an existing cancer drug could have potential as a treatment for muscular dystrophy. The researchers found that the drug—known as a colony-stimulating factor 1 receptor (CSF1R) inhibitor—helped slow the progress of Duchenne muscular dystrophy in mice by increasing the resiliency of muscle fibers. "This is a class of drug that is already being used in clinical trials to treat rare forms of cancer," says Dr. Farshad Babaeijandaghi. Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is a severe genetic disorder that leads to progressive muscle weakness and degeneration. "While this is not a cure, it could significantly delay disease progression,...

The Supreme Court handed President Joe Biden a victory Thursday, ruling that he can shut down a Trump administration program designed to restrict immigration at the southern border. The court said in a 5-4 ruling that the Biden administration acted properly in seeking to end the "Remain in Mexico" policy, formally known as the Migrant Protection Protocols. It required people seeking asylum at the southern border, mainly from Central America, to wait in Mexico while their claims were decided.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has closed the gap significantly between himself and Donald Trump in a hypothetical matchup in 2024, bringing him within single digits of the former president. Among registered Republican voters, about 45% said they would vote for Trump compared to 36% who leaned toward DeSantis, according to the most recent YouGov/Yahoo News poll, a 9-point difference and the closest any challenger has ever gotten to the former president in a GOP primary poll. The most recent numbers tighten previous polls that showed DeSantis trailing by 16 points in February and 23 points the month before that.

Mitochondria are the power plants of cells, and they contain their own genetic material and RNA molecules. Scientists have now discovered that certain modifications in mitochondrial RNA boost the invasive spread of cancer cells by supporting protein synthesis in mitochondria. They have established that a specific gene expression signature correlating with high levels of mitochondrial RNA modifications is associated with metastasis and poor prognosis in patients with head and neck cancer. When the researchers blocked the responsible RNA modifying enzyme in cancer cells, the number of metastases was reduced. Certain antibiotics that suppress protein synthesis in mitochondria were also able...

As dozens of churches, pregnancy centers, and various other pro-life organizations fall victim to domestic terrorist attacks, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is facing widespread criticism over its failure to address this rising trend. As reported by Just The News, Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) sent a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray demanding that these “violent attacks are recognized by the FBI and are being properly investigated for what they are – cases of abortion-related violent extremism.” “There have been at least 40 violent attacks on crisis pregnancy centers, religious institutions, and other pro-life entities since the Dobbs leak...

The COVID-19 pandemic has raised serious questions about globalization, not only about the virus and its rapid transmission around the world but also about its source, China. The COVID-19 pandemic has completely exposed the underlying flaws of globalism as an ideology. It has shown China to be the culprit behind the biggest biological warfare attempt in human history. The total calculated costs exceed $16 trillion and untold human pain, suffering, and now more than 6 million deaths worldwide. As a system of thought, globalization is an understanding of a hyperconnected world built not only on technology, international trade, and movement...
