TOKYO -- A guitar that once belonged to legendary rocker Randy Bachman, a former member of the Canadian rock band The Guess Who, that was stolen 45 years ago in Toronto while he was on tour has been found in Japan. The rock star is now in Tokyo to retrieve his lost love after a Japanese musician who had bought the guitar at a vintage shop agreed to give it back to its rightful owner.

I know how he feels. I still have my Guild acoustic I bought in 1976. I’m leaving that to my granddaughters. I saw BTO in concert in Philly around 1973. They had a lot of hits back then.
They mentioned The Guess Who, but who can forget Bachman-Turner Overdrive? 45 years ago would’ve been 1977...which is the time Bachman would have been with BTO.
Still...awesome story.
Betcha the Canuks made him get vaxxed before he could travel to get it !!
I guess he’s been ‘Looking out for (his) Number One’ guitar for 45 years.
At first he suspected it was stolen by an ‘American Woman’
I never understood why they didn't let Tina Turner sing on any of their tracks.
(Please read my tagline before flaming...)
The Guess Who was the first concert I ever attended. The second was Uriah Heep.
Randy could rock.

BTO was pretty good too.
That guitar is easily worth a half million.
Blue Collar is my favorite Bachman tune.

Roll on Down the Highway
Yep. Blue Collar. Their best tune.
ALMOST the same story on Jimmy Page’s Black Beauty was stolen in NYC and was returned almost 50 years later...
“Jimmy Page’s Stolen ‘Black Beauty’ Guitar Was Returned After 45 Years”
Same sequence of events: Stolen. Bought by someone else. Realizes it belongs to someone else who is famous. Research. Contacts famous musician. Musician gives $$$ reward BUT Bachman being a cheapskate pays him by adding lyrics to a song.
Assume he played that Gretsch on this tune . Shakin All Over . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2lCDQ8j9bE
Ummm...not Ike Turner.
It was C.F. (Charles Frederick) Turner.
