President Joe Biden arrived in Europe Saturday for a week of summits, where the grinding war in Ukraine -- entering its fifth month and fading from Americans' attention -- will be thrust back to the forefront. Biden hopes to announce new sanctions and military assistance alongside European allies during his visits to Germany and Spain. Both the Group of 7 and NATO summits will hear from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who continues to appeal to the United States and other countries for more help. Yet big questions loom over the talks in Germany and Spain, most importantly whether the united...

The IMF was one of the first establishment institutions to admit that inflation was a legitimate threat to the US economy last year, however, they were very late to the game compared to economists in the alternative media. In March of 2021 IMF analysts were still arguing that inflation would be “transitory” despite the enormous $6 trillion covid stimulus in 2020 which was injected by the Federal Reserve directly into US retail markets through covid checks and PPP loans (helicopter money). Nearly all of the IMF’s predictions on inflation turned out to be wrong. This fact should be taken into...

Executive Summary The January 21, 1998 version of this Special Report has been updated with additional research and analysis. The MRC re-released the revised copy on July 22, 1998. As the 25th anniversary of Roe vs. Wade fades and the Congress and President engage in another passage-and-veto cycle on partial-birth abortions, the Media Research Center asked: Do the national media report fairly on abortion? In a broad overview of five years of studies, a team of MRC media analysts has documented five ways in which the media tilt the abortion story: 1. One side is presented as ideological, the other...

Over the last two months a wave of radical, pro-abortion terror has swept across the country, firebombings of pro-life organizations, intimidation of individuals, and destruction of property. But you wouldn’t know the perpetrator if you watched ABC, CBS, NBC and MSNBC. They refuse to say the name of the group responsible: Jane’s Revenge. Shockingly, the liberal CNN is the only network to name names and specifically identify them. This terrorist organization has claimed credit for firebombings, arson and other acts of violence. With little subtlety, they are now threatening physical harm or death. In addition to not saying the group’s...

After the United States Supreme Court officially overturned Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey on Friday, California Lt. Gov. Eleni Kounalakis appeared on MSNBC to discuss the ruling. She touted California's plans to become an abortion sanctuary for out-of-state travelers seeking abortions, and also took aim at Justice Clarence Thomas, comparing him to an individual from a country with restrictive laws governing women's behavior. "Sadly I think that this decision is delegitimizing the Supreme Court," she said. "Who is Clarence Thomas? Is he my Saudi Arabian father who's going to tell me what I can and cannot do...

The Supreme Court on Friday released a historic abortion ruling overturning Roe vs. Wade. Journalists reacted with shock and horror. As we’ve exposed in a NewsBusters study on Thursday, however, the networks and MSNBC REFUSED to say the name of the radical pro-abortion terrorists Jane’s Revenge. Yet this is part of a long pattern by liberal networks to hide the violence against conservatives. The Media Research Center in 1998 re-released an updated study entitled “Roe’s Warriors: The Media’s Pro-Abortion Bias.” Here’s just a few of the examples of violence against pro-lifers that went ignored in the 1990s. Daniel Adam Mahoney...

All three morning shows on Saturday erupted at Friday’s historic overturning of Roe vs. Wade, donating much coverage to the “shockwaves” sent across the country. But it was NBC that highlighted the ugliest sentiment, lingering on a pro-abortion protest poster reading: “[Clarence] Thomas is a treasonous turd.” Today reporter Jesse Kirsch touted protests across the country, including militant activists on the west coast: “In Washington, crowds swelled along a fenced in court. Meanwhile in L.A., protesters took over the 101 Hollywood freeway.” He also casually touted protests outside the home of conservative Supreme Court justices: “Over protesters outside homes of...

The network morning shows sounded the alarm on Saturday, warning of the “shockwaves” and “outrage” at the “newly activist conservative” Supreme Court majority that overturned Roe vs. Wade. On Friday, Terry Moran suddenly discovered the concept of judicial activism, attacking the conservatives as “judges in politicians’ robes.” On Saturday's Good Morning America he spoke of “newly emboldened activist conservative majority.” Moran continued his worried tone: “This morning, shockwaves across the country. In a sweeping ruling that overturned a half a century of precedents, five justices ended the right of American women to choose abortion under the Constitution.” Over on CBS...

Baghdad (AFP) – Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhemi is due to visit Saudi Arabia and Iran "in the next few hours", as part of efforts to mediate between the two countries, a cabinet source said Saturday. Iraq has over the past year hosted five rounds of talks between the two regional rivals which have had no diplomatic ties since 2016. After the last round of negotiations in April, Kadhemi said he believed that "reconciliation is near" between Riyadh and Tehran, a further reflection of shifting political alignments across the region. "The official visit... comes in the context of the talks...

An abortion rights group is suing the state of Mississippi over its abortion laws. The Center for Reproductive Rights alleges in a 59-page lawsuit that the state has been conducting a “25-year legislative campaign to eliminate women’s constitutional right to access abortion.” The group filed the suit following a new state law banning abortions after 15 weeks, the most restrictive abortion ban in the country, which the group argues is “unconstitutional.” ... The lawsuit filed Monday is also on behalf of the clinic, the Jackson Women’s Health Organization. It challenges several of the state’s abortion laws, including the new 15-week...

The unhinged breakdown of Keith Olbermann is accelerating. The ex-MSNBC host melted down over the Supreme Court this week. First, he called for nullification after the conservative justices struck down New York’s gun control law. But after the Court overturned Roe v. Wade on Friday, he absolutely lost it, ranting about “theocratic” “terrorists.” We read all of Olbermann’s tweets so you don’t have to. Here are his top seven most insane responses to the end of Roe. (And remember, this man was employed by MSNBC and ESPN. He now screams into the void at YouTube.) On Friday evening, the ex-host...

THE US Supreme Court last night axed a New York law strictly limiting the carrying of guns outside the home. In a landmark judgment, the court said the law was at odds with the Second Amendment, regarding the right to bear arms, of the US Constitution. It follows a slew of mass killings, including the school massacre in Uvalde, Texas. President Joe Biden said he was ‘deeply disappointed’ in the 6-3 ruling by the court’s conservative majority, three of whom were appointed by Donald Trump. Mr Biden said: ‘This ruling contradicts both common sense and the Constitution, and should deeply...

In a shocking development, CNN Newsroom host Jim Acosta acknowledged the existence of pro-life Democrats and welcomed one, Kristen Day, onto his Saturday show to discuss the Supreme Court’s Dobbs ruling. Unfortunately, the same liberal talking points remained as Acosta decried the U.S.’s lack of “stellar company” on the issue while suggesting that pregnancy centers aren’t good enough. Acosta led Day, who is the executive director of Democrats for Life of America, by showing a new found respect for Sen. Joe Manchin, “Here’s what Democratic Senator Joe Manchin said about Roe v. Wade, quote, ‘it's been the law of the...

We saw it coming at us like a 10-tonne truck but, if anyone needed confirmation, here it is: the bodily autonomy of women is under a deadly assault. Think that’s hyperbole? Think again. In a sucker punch to women’s reproductive freedom, the US Supreme Court has overturned the landmark Roe v Wade ruling. This means that there will no longer be a constitutional right to an abortion in the US, and states get to decide whether to allow, ban or restrict pregnancy terminations. While former vice president Mike Pence celebrated the ruling with the words “today, life won”, I wonder...

Kyiv on Saturday accused Russia of officially dragging Minsk into the war after missiles were fired at Ukraine from within Belarus’ borders. The Main Intelligence Agency of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine said "a mass rocket-bomb strike was launched" after 12 cruise missiles were fired from 6 planes. Another 24 missiles, also reportedly fired from within Belarus, were said to have hit Ukrainian military targets near Zhytomyr, an area less than 90 miles west of Kyiv, first reported Ukrainian news outlet Pravda.

Abortion was a hot-button issue on Friday night's episode of Real Time with Bill Maher, with the HBO host saying Americans are 'living in two different countries' after the Supreme Court voted to overturn its landmark decision granting Americans the right to an abortion. Bill Maher began his panel discussion with Andrew Sullivan, a blogger for The Weekly Dish, and Katie Herzog, cohost of the podcast Blocked and Reported, by insisting that Republicans 'played the long game' to get Roe v Wade overturned. 'They play the long game,' he said. 'They knew this from the beginning, they put six Catholics...

ATLANTA - Perhaps more than any other woman, Marjorie Dannenfelser is responsible for the fall of Roe vs. Wade. The president of Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, a nonprofit group that works to end abortion in the United States by electing antiabortion politicians, Dannenfelser has dedicated her adult life to outlawing abortion. In 2016, she played a key role in getting President Trump to commit to appoint U.S. Supreme Court justices who oppose abortion. The Los Angeles Times asked Dannenfelser, 56, about the fall of Roe, her antiabortion journey and her strategy for outlawing abortion nationwide. This interview has been...

Russian President Vladimir Putin told Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko Saturday that Russia will provide Belarus with nuclear-capable missile systems. According to Reuters, during a meeting in St. Petersburg, Russia, Lukashenko raised concerns about the "aggressive" and "confrontational" actions of neighboring countries Poland and Lithuania. He also discussed nuclear-armed flights near the Belarusian border being conducted by the U.S.-led NATO alliance, and reportedly asked Putin to help his country with a "symmetrical response." Last month, the Russian president sold nuclear-capable Iskander missiles and S-400 missile systems to Belarus.

After a single Federal Reserve rate hike of 75bps I am noticing a trend among mainstream economists whipping out their crystal balls and predicting an almost immediate reversion to deflationary conditions. In their view, a recession will “balance everything out.” For most of these people I would suggest that they keep their crystal balls in their pants; they have been consistently wrong and it’s time for them to shut up. If you were predicting that inflation would be “transitory” last year, then you have no right to act like you are an economist today. It’s going to take a lot...
