Just months after Elon Musk had a public spat on Twitter about what the true cost of “solving world hunger would be”, the head of the U.N.’s World Food Program is urging billionaires to “step up” and confront the global threat of food insecurity. The WFP boss had previously said “All we need is $6.6B—just .36% of the top 400 US billionaires’ net worth increase last year” in order to control a humanitarian crisis where in 42 million people in 43 countries face famine. Musk had previously offered $6 billion if the World Food Programme could provide him “open sourced...

Brave New World? You decide. J. Michael Evans, president of the Alibaba Group-- a Chinese multinational technology company—bragged at the recent World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland: “We’re developing through technology an ability for consumers to measure their own carbon footprint. What does that mean? That's where are they traveling, how are they traveling, what are they eating, what are they consuming on the platform?” Not to be outdone, Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla told those attending the WEF about a new technology his company has developed: “It is a, basically biological chip that is in the tablet. And once we...

Russia is advancing a new law allowing it to take control of the local businesses of western companies that decide to leave in the wake of Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine, raising the stakes for multinationals trying to exit. The law, which could be in place within weeks, will give Russia sweeping powers to intervene where there is a threat to local jobs or industry, making it more difficult for western companies to disentangle themselves quickly unless they are prepared to take a big financial hit. The law to seize the property of foreign investors follows an exodus of western companies,...

Stuck in their trenches, the Ukrainian volunteers lived off a potato per day as Russian forces pounded them with artillery and Grad rockets on a key eastern front line. Outnumbered, untrained and clutching only light weapons, the men prayed for the barrage to end. After three months of war, this company of 120 men is down to 54 because of deaths, injuries and desertions. Lapko and Khrus’s concerns were echoed recently by a platoon of the 115th Brigade 3rd Battalion, based nearby in the besieged city of Severodonetsk. In a video uploaded to Telegram on May 24, and confirmed as...

LANSING, MI – Nineteen candidates from around the state have been booted from the Aug. 3 ballot over petition errors. Those errors ranged from some candidates having thousands of fraudulent signatures on their petitions, to one candidate accidentally covering a few words on her petition with a sticker. The Michigan Board of State Canvassers on Thursday decided on a total of 32 cases where candidates for this year’s primary election were facing disqualification from the ballot. The list included six candidates for Michigan governor, seven candidates for U.S. representative and 19 candidates for circuit and district court judges. Of those...

Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) called Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) an “absolute fraud” in remarks from the Senate floor regarding the governor’s response to this week’s mass shooting at a Texas elementary school. “Yesterday, after Beto O’Rourke confronted Texas Gov. Abbott’s press conference, the MAGA governor gave some empty platitudes about healing and hope,” Schumer said Thursday, referencing former President Trump’s campaign slogan “Make America Great Again.” “He asked people to put their agendas aside and think about someone other than themselves. My God. How dare he. What an absolute fraud the governor of Texas is,” the majority...

Do you know what DEF fluid is? It's Diesel Exhaust Fluid. Every Diesel truck that has been made since 2010 is required to use it. It's a product made of 67% Urea fertilizer and 33% distilled water. Every diesel truck you see driving down the road today has to have this product to drive. The engines won't start without it. There are regulators inside the engine that mix DEF with the Diesel to reduce Diesel emissions. That's the purpose of DEF. Right now, Russia is the largest exporter of Urea by a wide margin. Qatar is second. Egypt and China...

A copy of Hunter Biden's hard drive obtained by the Washington Examiner is indisputably authentic, and there is no evidence of any hacking or file manipulation, according to an examination conducted by a former Secret Service agent who has testified as a cyberforensics expert in over 100 classified, criminal, and civil matters at the state, federal, and international levels. The Washington Examiner commissioned Konstantinos "Gus" Dimitrelos to conduct a full forensic examination to determine the drive's authenticity and whether there were any signs of tampering. Using a technique he developed called "digital sandwiching," Dimitrelos cross-referenced thousands of emails, documents, business...

Kissinger, never one to let a crisis got to waste, has been busy on an important new-world-order project in Russia with Vladimir Putin. Although it has gone virtually unreported in the U.S. media, Kissinger has been featured prominently in the Russian media during his many trips over the past decade to Moscow to meet with Putin and Yevgeny Primakov, the former KGB terror master for the Soviet Union in the Middle East. In 2007, Kissinger and Primakov were appointed by Putin to co-chair a bilateral "working group" of Russian and American political insiders to tackle issues such as global terrorism,...

While nothing has been set in stone yet, there are signs that talks between Turkey and Sweden over that nation’s NATO membership application may be moving toward an agreement. Yesterday, Turkey offered a list of “concrete assurances” that Sweden could provide that might result in Turkey agreeing to vote in favor of the application, likely assuring Sweden’s rapid entry into the alliance. And the assurances Turkey is seeking once again involve the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK). Turkey considers the PKK a terrorist organization and wants Sweden to stop providing support to the group, along with turning over Kurds that have...

Law enforcement officers are investigating whether a retired federal agent had about 30 minutes advance notice of a white supremacist's plans to murder Black people at a Buffalo supermarket, two law enforcement officials told The Buffalo News. Authorities believe the former agent – believed to be from Texas – was one of at least six individuals who regularly communicated with accused gunman Payton Gendron in an online chat room where racist hatred was discussed, the two officials said. The two law enforcement sources with direct knowledge of the investigation stated these individuals were invited by Gendron to read about his...

The legacy media is confirming what everyone else already knew: The Pennsylvania Senate race between television personality and newly-minted politician Dr. Mehmet Oz and hedge fund CEO and former Under Secretary of the Treasury David McCormick will go to a recount. As RedState reported, the race was neck and neck on May 17 with McCormick looking to edge out Oz. However, as more counting was done, McCormick’s lead began to evaporate and he made an adversarial move, as our sister site Townhall reported. On Monday afternoon, McCormick filed a lawsuit to force Pennsylvania election officials to count absentee and mail-in ballots *even*...

The number of people turning out for the Georgia primary this week certainly put paid to the Democratic claim about the election law that was passed in 2021. Democrats had falsely claimed that the law was a “Jim Crow” effort to restrict the vote. That was untrue; it even increased the opportunities to vote. But the turnout also showed that Georgians were in no way hindered from voting. However, there is an underlying, fascinating number that is worth talking about — the incredible increase in the GOP primary voting numbers. The new commonsense election integrity laws have made it easier to vote...

One of the side effects of war is economic dislocation. No matter what Vladimir Putin chooses to call his war in Ukraine, it is a war, and it is dislocating markets worldwide. Most of the attention has been on the potential disruption of Russian oil and gas supplies to Europe, but a more significant problem than cold Euros is looming. Ukraine is one of the world’s leading exporters of wheat and sunflower oil. Because of Putin’s War, Ukrainian products can’t pass through the Black Sea to get to market.Fears of a global food crisis are swelling as Russian attacks on...
