On Wednesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports,” host and NBC News Chief Washington Correspondent and Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent Andrea Mitchell argued that “there’s nothing in the Constitution at all about assault weapons.” And that law enforcement in the school shooting in Uvalde, TX couldn’t stop a shooter who was armed “with what appears to be something like an assault weapon.” After playing a clip of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) saying that armed law enforcement on school grounds is the most effective tool to keep students safe and that “inevitably, when there’s a murder of this kind, you see...

The banana republic of Pennsylvania officially ordered a recount in the GOP Senate Primary race in the state. Dr. Mehmut Oz leads by less than 1,000 votes over Dave McCormick. They are still counting votes 8 days after the primary election. They still don’t have all of the votes counted. Are they still coming in? On Monday former hedge fund CEO David McCormick filed a lawsuit to demand election officials count undated ballots that came in after the Tuesday election. On Wednesday state officials ordered a recount in the GOP Senate primary race.

Hassan Nasrallah, the head of the Hezbollah terrorist organization, has issued a threat to Israeli in advance of Jerusalem Day, when a flag dance is planned. Speaking to mark the anniversary of the IDF's withdrawal from south Lebanon, Nasrallah said that each and every breach of the sanctity of the Al Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock will cause the region to "explode." "In a few days' time, certain events are to be held in Jerusalem that will bring about an explosion," Nasrallah said. "This is a provocation of the entire Arab..."

There is a lot of speculation about the Republican party’s chances of taking the momentum they have going into November and doing what was once thought unthinkable for this election cycle: flipping the Senate to red. The analyses I read — and I do read a lot of them — that break down how that just might happen all count Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.) among the most vulnerable. My view from here in my native Arizona is that Kelly probably isn’t sweating too much. Last month, my friend and colleague Stephen Green gave his breakdown regarding the GOP’s Senate takeover...

Disgraced reality TV star Josh Duggar has been jailed for 12 years and seven months for downloading a vile trove of 'the worst of the worst' child porn. US District Judge Timothy Brooks handed the 151-month prison sentence at the Western District of Arkansas Federal Courthouse in Fayetteville at the end of a day-long hearing on Wednesday. Duggar, 34, has been in custody since December when a federal jury found the 19 Kids and Counting alum guilty of possession and receipt of child pornography. Members of the Duggar family, including father Jim Bob Duggar, 56, Josh's wife Anna, 34, and...

SNIP “I’ve found that that’s been really powerful in creating ease, intimacy and trust in my relationship,” Williams said, explaining that he took an astrology class with his wife, which helped him to learn more about their “dynamic” as a couple. Williams — a former Heisman Trophy winner and NFL rushing leader — said his wife is an attorney, but his All-Pro résumé and fame would sometimes create an “imbalance” within their friendship circles because “people would forget about her.” “One of the ideas that popped into my mind was I can take her last name,” Williams said. “I think...

A romance novelist who wrote about “How to Murder Your Husband” was convicted in her husband’s killing Wednesday following a contentious trial in which prosecutors leaned on a “puzzle” of circumstantial evidence to portray the author as a duplicitous spouse who spent months quietly plotting the perfect crime. Nancy Brophy, 71, stood quietly, a pandemic mask covering her nose and mouth, as the verdict was handed down, seven weeks after the trial began in Portland, Oregon. Her sentencing is scheduled for June 13. Prosecutors had built their case with evidence showing that Brophy had acquired gun pieces in the months...

Americans want secure elections. When 60 percent of voters said they believe there is institutional fraud in our elections, states had a responsibility to respond by closing loopholes, tightening up processes, and working to reduce fraud. Now, nearly half the states have passed some form of election integrity legislation, and the Left is running out of options in their bid to undermine local control of local elections. Congress’s attempt to override the states by federalizing elections failed. President Biden’s pre-questioning of the legitimacy of the midterm elections fell flat. With the public not on their side, the Left is now...

"When are we going to do something?" Kerr yelled, slamming his fists on the table. "I'm tired. I am so tired of getting up here and offering condolences to the devastated families that are out there. I am so tired of the, excuse, I am sorry, I am tired of the moments of silence. Enough!" Kerr has long been outspoken against gun violence. His father was shot dead in a terrorist attack in Beirut in 1984, and he has spent much of his professional life calling for gun law reform. On numerous occasions, including Tuesday, Kerr has pointed to H.R.8,...

And in the wake of his defeat, Bush’s political future and the survival of his family’s brand are very much in doubt. "History has shown there can be second acts in American politics, so I wouldn’t say never. But I think that he is politically greatly diminished from the results last night," longtime Texas based GOP strategist Brendan Steinhauser told Fox News. And he predicted that in the short term "I think it’s more likely he goes into the private sector." Matt Mackowiak, a veteran Austin, Texas-based Republican consultant and chair of Travis County GOP, said, "You can never count...

“Light is everything,” says the sculptor. And, all at once, it is. You see light as if for the first time. Not as some condition of simple illumination, but as the maker of solids, the hand, the hammer and the chisel, the creator. You see it sifting down from the ceiling and sneaking through the glass doors, cascading from the two big windows up front, the long room filled with it in every angle and on every surface, the whole place swelling with daylight pouring through the glass bricks out back. Iron light, straw light, light bright as brass, sun-yellow...

The latest Gallup poll found that the overwhelming majority of Americans are not satisfied with the country’s direction as the November midterm elections loom and Democrats admit that there is a challenging “political environment” ahead. The poll revealed that 83 percent of Americans are dissatisfied with how things across the country are going, while only 16 percent are satisfied and one percent have no opinion. This marked a six percent decrease in satisfaction with where the country is headed from the Gallup poll taken in April and is the lowest percentage of satisfaction since the January 6 capitol riot over...

No one is immune from getting scam phone calls. Criminals, mostly in other countries, keep finding new ways to steal your money. Both he and his wife found themselves in the crosshairs of sophisticated criminals. “I was a federal judge,” William Webster said. “I was the director of the FBI, director of the CIA, and I was the target of an elder fraud scheme.” Webster served as director of the FBI from 1978 to 1987. Webster wants as many people as...

Forget what you know from the cartoon. The 19th-century story, now in a new translation, was a rallying cry for universal education and Italian nationhoodThe town of Collodi, Italy, about 45 miles west of Florence, is set on a slope behind a fabulous 17th-century villa. The garden, built as a kind of fantasy pleasure park for the Garzoni family and their noble guests, offers terraces, flower beds, grand staircases, splashing fountains and antique marble statues surrounding the Baroque villa. Walk through the tunnel under the villa and follow the path up the hill, and the stone houses of Collodi speak...

This June 17 will mark 50 years since five burglars were caught red-handed in the Watergate offices of the Democratic National Committee. We will be regaled once again with laudatory tales of the two intrepid cub reporters, whose dogged investigative work thwarted a determined cover-up by President Richard Nixon and his henchmen. *** The truth behind a separate troubling event did not emerge until Jeff Himmelman’s book Yours in Truth: A Personal Portrait of Ben Bradlee was published in 2012. He tells the story of his discovery of a seven-page Bernstein memo in Bradlee’s files, detailing Bernstein’s highly improper interview...

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’s campaign called out the hypocrisy of woke Walt Disney Co. after it was discovered that apparel from its LGBTQ-themed “Pride Collection” fashion line is actually made in China — “one of the world’s worst human rights abusers.” “It’s hypocritical, but it’s not surprising, that a woke company like Disney would threaten the rights of parents in Florida but would happily do business with the Chinese Communist Party – one of the world’s worst human rights abusers,” a campaign spokesperson told Breitbart News exclusively following the news of Disney’s “Pride Collection” line donning “Made in China” labels....

SEATTLE (AP) — The Seattle City Council has approved an ordinance freeing up more than $1 million to be used to recruit police officers to a department that has lost hundreds of staffers in the last two years. About 20 residents called into the meeting in opposition to the plan, saying the council is figuring out how to incentivize hiring more police without having done anything in the last two years to hold police more accountable after the police killing of George Floyd, a Black man in Minneapolis. Councilmember Tammy Morales argued there were better ways to spend money to...

Biomedical informatics researchers have found that patients hospitalized with COVID-19 pneumonia had a 13.5% survival advantage when treated with a combination of leukotriene inhibitors (LTIs) and the steroid dexamethasone. The study shows that patients with low oxygen saturations who are treated with leukotriene inhibitors in addition to dexamethasone have a 13.5% inpatient survival advantage in COVID 19 infection. Patients on LTIs prior to hospitalization who were continued on their LTI had a 22% survival advantage. …"This represents a new treatment with very strong results and when implemented, should save lives broadly," said Elkin.
