It was a long day of travel but we’re back at it on the Sussmann trial. This morning started with testimony from Bill Priestap, who in September 2016 was the FBI’s Assistant Director of Counterintelligence. His testimony was expected, even before the witness lists were put out. Back in January, we observed that Priestap had testified before a grand jury. In fact, Priestap himself stated today that he testified before the grand jury in June 2021. A little bit of background on Priestap before we begin. Priestap approved the opening of Crossfire Hurricane and decided against defensive briefings being provided...

CNN anchor Jake Tapper intervened on Monday after one of President Biden’s top economic advisers sought to blame the record surge in gas prices on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s decision to invade Ukraine. The exchange occurred after Tapper pressed White House National Economic Council Director Brian Deese for answers on how long Americans will face surging gas prices. The national average for a gallon of gas hit a record $4.598 per gallon on Tuesday, according to AAA.

@ChadPergram A) VERY emotional speech by Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) on the floor about the shooting in Texas. He was a senator-elect and the sitting Congressman representing Sandy Hook when the shooting happened there in 2012. B) Murphy: This is a choice!...this is the only country where this happens...Sandy Hook will never be the same..this town in Texas will never be the same. C) Murphy: I am literally getting down on my hands and knees here, begging...there is a place where we can achieve an agreement (on guns)..so America will never again see a mass shooting.

A high school student in Alexandria, Virginia, has died after someone stabbed him during a fight involving 30 to 50 people at the Bradlee Shopping Center Tuesday afternoon, police say. Officers found the 18-year-old victim when they arrived to the McDonald's parking lot at the shopping center to break up the fight about 12:30 p.m., police said. Medics took the victim, a student at Alexandria City High School, to a hospital, where he died a short time later, police said. Police tape blocked off the McDonald's parking lot, where shoes and other items littered the ground after the fight. Investigators...

A geofence is a technology that makes use of location data to set up an invisible barrier in the real world. Often the technology uses GPS, but it can also use other data signals such as cellular, WiFi or RFID. You can't see or feel anything when you pass through a geofence, but if you are carrying a connected device, it will send out a signal that you have crossed the electronic boundary. This may trigger a programmed action - such as a message to appear on your phone, or in the case of Ford's internet-connected cars, impose a speed...

(Reuters) - Russian lawmakers on Tuesday gave the first stamp of approval to a bill that would allow Russian entities to take over foreign companies that have left the market in opposition to Moscow's actions in Ukraine, the government's online portal showed. Scores of foreign companies have announced temporary shutdowns of stores and factories in Russia or said they were leaving for good since Russia sent tens of thousands of troops into Ukraine on Feb. 24. The bill, passed in the first reading by the lower house of parliament, or Duma, would allow the state development bank VEB or other...

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — After being denied entry into the club, a woman walked away and fired shots into the air. On May 22 at approximately 12:30 AM, the Memphis Police Department (MPD) responded to a shooting call at Prohibition Lounge, which is in the 4800 block of American Way. When officers arrived, security told police that a woman, later identified as Aylesha Franklin, was denied entry into the club. Franklin became aggressive and made threats they were going to shoot up the club, according to an affidavit. The woman walked away, pulled out a purple handgun, and fired two shots...

hite House PressSec Karine Jean-Pierre getting a white, straight male to help do her job is this week’s big crazy ...On last week’s Insanity Wrap, I had a little fun with the shiny new White House Press Secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre.It was her first day on the job, and allow me to be gentle for once and just say that Jean-Pierre might not have been fully prepared. The highlight was when she appeared to read off the wrong page when asked about inflation and said something about how we’ll stop inflation with fairness because of climate change.I’m not the only one...

The WHO recently announced plans for an international pandemic treaty tied to a digital passport and digital ID system. Meeting in December 2021 in a special session for only the second time since the WHO’s founding in 1948, the Health Assembly of the WHO adopted a single decision titled, “The World Together.” The WHO plans to finalize the treaty by 2024. It will aim to shift governing authority now reserved to sovereign states to the WHO during a pandemic by legally binding member states to the WHO’s revised International Health Regulations. In January of 2022 the United States submitted proposed...

WASHINGTON (AP) — With Congress deadlocked over how to address racism and excessive use of force, President Joe Biden plans to sign an executive order on policing Wednesday, the second anniversary of George Floyd’s death, according to three people familiar with the matter. The decision reflects Biden’s struggle to use the limited powers of his office to advance his campaign promises, as well as his attempt to strike a balance between police and civil rights groups at a time when rising concerns about crime are eclipsing calls for reform. The order would require federal law enforcement to review and revise...

Former Vice President Mike Pence traveled to Georgia on Monday with two missions in mind: engaging in a bit of the low-stakes political theater while also, his allies hope, bolstering a public reputation that has even Republicans turning up their nose at the Pence brand. It’s clear Pence excelled at the theatrics; moving his sagging favorability rating will be a tougher challenge. Pence was in Georgia to support Gov. Brian Kemp, who is facing a primary challenge from his right by former Sen. David Perdue. Perdue has the backing of former President Donald Trump and the furious support of the...

In his first appearance in person at Davos since Slamming Trump as a “conman, narcissist” and claiming Mark Zuckerberg was conspiring to get him re-elected in March 2020 (and warned that “the overheated US economy can’t be kept boiling for too long”), billionaire George Soros unveiled his traditionally anticipated annual address, taking aim squarely at China (nothing new there) but adding Russia to his hit list. Meanwhile Soros appointed DAs continue to destroy our civilization. https://t.co/LAUxUwuraj — Timothy Connolly CFA (@SconsetCapital) May 24, 2022 The 90-year-old puppet-master is certainly not getting any younger (looking older than 98-year-0old Henry Kissinger who...

Explanation: The plan was to capture a picturesque part of the sky that was hosting an unusual guest. The result included a bonus — an additional and unexpected guest. The beautiful background features part of the central band of our Milky Way galaxy on the far left, and the colorful clouds of Rho Ophiuchi in the image center. The unusual guest, a dimmed and reddened Moon on the right, was expected because the image was taken during last week’s total lunar eclipse. The timing had to be right because the Moon — both before and after eclipse — would be...

Nevada bettor places $60k total on Mavericks to win West, NBA Finals; here's potential payout. No team in NBA history has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit, but that didn't stop one Nevada bettor from pushing his chips in on the Dallas Mavericks. With the Mavs facing elimination Tuesday night in Game 4 of the Western Conference finals, a bettor at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas just did the unthinkable: he placed a bet on the Mavericks to win their series against the Golden State Warriors. In a tweet sent out by Caesars Sportsbook, official odds partner of Bet.NOLA.com, the...

At least two children are dead and more than a dozen children are hospitalized in a Texas elementary school shooting, Uvalde Memorial Hospital confirmed to The Associated Press. Uvalde police announced they have the shooter in custody. The total may be much higher. As many as 14 people have died, including several children, law enforcement sources told ABC News. The shooting occurred in the border town of Uvalde, Texas, about an hour and a half drive from San Antonio, where several patients were transferred to University Health for treatment. All Uvalde school district activities are canceled, and a press conference...

A friend told me yesterday he voted for Biden because he was tired of Trump’s “drama.” He said he “didn’t vote for Jared Kushner or Ivanka” and didn’t like them “hanging around” the White House. “Right message, wrong guy,” he said of Trump. My buddy considers himself a “non-Trumping, Democrat-hating conservative.” I guess his “non-Trumping” bias trumped (heh-heh) his hatred of Democrats. He claimed he had “no idea things would get this bad under Biden.” My friend also doesn’t like the far-left judge in the Bronx who has a habit of releasing violent criminals from jail. He lives nearby. “She’s...

(CNN)The FBI is conducting an internal review into possible misconduct related to the Trump-Russia investigation, including potentially improper handling of a surveillance warrant that was used early in the investigation, an FBI agent revealed Tuesday in federal court. FBI supervisory agent Curtis Heide testified that an administrative inquiry is underway, and that multiple FBI agents are being scrutinized, including himself. Heide said the inquiry is being handled by the FBI's Inspection Division, which conducts internal audits and can refer any wrongdoing it finds to the Office of Professional Responsibility, which can recommend discipline or even firings.
