The economy has gone from the ICU to the morgue. It was inevitable. There has been no shelling, no EMP, no invading army, no nuclear attack. Everything is more or less the same, but everything has changed so drastically. You feel like you are living in a parallel universe. Decadence is all around, and it came faster than people could imagine. Businesses, fabrics, commerce, and entertainment – everything is working. Stuff is being produced, sold, and serviced. Just not as before. The streets are dim, dirty – lacking conservation and maintenance. It’s a lot more unsafe to walk around, especially...

Former Vice President Mike Pence appears to not rule out a presidential bid in 2024 in what will become a sizable Republican primary, even if his former ticket mate, former President Donald Trump, is also running, according to a report. Before a speech Pence gave last month in Iowa, he told the New York Times that he would not rule out entering the 2024 presidential race even if Trump enters the race as well. Pence added that he and his wife, Karen Pence, would act on prayer, stating, “We’ll go where we’re called. … That’s the way Karen and I...

Explanation: This picture of Andromeda shows not only where stars are now, but where stars will soon be. Of course, the big, beautiful Andromeda Galaxy, M31, is a spiral galaxy -- and a mere 2.5 million light-years away. Both space-based and ground-based observatories have been here combined to produce this intriguing composite image of Andromeda, at wavelengths both inside and outside normally visible light. The visible light shows where M31's stars are now -- as highlighted in white and blue hues and imaged by the Hubble, Subaru, and Mayall telescopes. The infrared light shows where M31's future stars will soon...

Taiwan's bid to take part in the World Health Organisation's (WHO) annual assembly was rejected on Monday (May 23), the assembly said, in a decision that follows a campaign of diplomatic pressure from China to isolate the island. Assembly President Ahmed Robleh Abdilleh, also Djibouti's health minister, said in a statement that a proposal sent by 13 WHO members seeking for Taiwan to join as an observer would not be included in its official agenda. Taiwan is excluded from most global groups due to Beijing's objections. China insists that Taiwan should not be treated as an independent country as it...

[Catholic Caucus] DC archdiocese accidentally sends blunt response on Pelosi Communion banEXCLUSIVE — Archbishop Wilton Gregory of the Archdiocese of Washington, D.C., has refused to comment publicly on whether he supports the barring of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) from receiving Holy Communion in light of her stance on abortion, with his office saying in a blunt and mistakenly sent email to the Washington Examiner that requests “will be ignored.” A number of bishops have come together in support of San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone’s announcement issued Friday that because of Pelosi’s stance on abortion and her recent calls to...

Rare spiders and scorpions are being put at risk by a growing global trade driven by the demand for exotic pets, including species so rare that scientists were previously unaware of them, a team of international researchers has warned. They said that at least 70 per cent of spiders and scorpions being sold as pets, for medicine or food have been sourced from the wild. The researchers detected more than 1,200 species available for sale in a generally legal trade. The team said they are growing in popularity as "cool" pets that take up little space but warned that harvesting...

NEW YORK, NY—After the spectre of another pandemic was raised by shocking reports of a new monkeypox strain, Pfizer announced they coincidentally finished their monkeypox vaccine yesterday. "Wow, an unusually contagious variant of an old virus with unknown origins? Gee, that's strange!" said Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla. "Well as luck would have it, our ten-year project to create a monkeypox vaccine coincided perfectly with the first cases showing up, just in time for our Q2 earnings report - er, I mean, just in time to save the world!" According to sources within Pfizer, Dr. Anthony Fauci had awarded a Chinese...

WASHINGTON — FBI agents probing since-debunked claims of a secret back channel between Donald Trump and a Russian bank believed that the allegations had originated with the Department of Justice — when in fact they came from Hillary Clinton campaign attorney Michael Sussmann, who had shopped them to the bureau’s then-general counsel days earlie

Like Trotsky following the Russian Revolution, Democrats want to keep society in a constant state of turmoil, conservative commentator and Constitutional Scholar Mark Levin says. In an appearance on “Unfiltered with Dan Bongino, Levin laid out the similarities between the philosophies of Trotsky and the Democrat Party, both of which rely on unending emergencies and anarchy:

Men all over the world are suffering from deteriorating semen quality—often referred to as an outright fertility crisis. Now, however, there may be good news for some of the men who are experiencing problems. In a new clinical study, researchers show that men with obesity improve their semen quality if they lose weight—and maintain the weight loss. "It was surprising to us that such a big improvement can be shown in the semen quality in connection with a weight loss. And as 18 percent of Danes have obesity, this new knowledge may actually make a difference," says Professor Signe Torekov....

SpaceX President and COO Gwynne Shotwell defended Elon Musk in an email to employees last week responding to sexual misconduct allegations directed at the CEO, CNBC has learned. “Personally, I believe the allegations to be false; not because I work for Elon, but because I have worked closely with him for 20 years and never seen nor heard anything resembling these allegations,” Shotwell wrote in a company-wide email sent on Friday and seen by CNBC. Shotwell emphasized in her email that she “will never comment on any legal matters involving employment issues” before noting Musk publicly denied the allegations as...

Vladimir Putin’s atrocities are growing by the day. In addition to having the blood of Ukrainians on his hands from his completely unjustified war, the Russian leader is also responsible for the growing starvation of people around the world. Ukraine is the breadbasket for much of the Middle East and North Africa. Right now, Mr. Putin is preventing Ukrainian grain from leaving the port of Odessa and along other key Black Sea routes. The result is dire: Global food prices are at an all-time high, and 276 million people are food insecure — more than double the numbers from 2019....

Republican Rep. Liz Cheney warned that Donald Trump is a threat to the United States the likes of which 'we have never faced before' in a Sunday evening speech. Wyoming's lone House Representative was among the recipients for this year's John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Awards. Her acceptance speech drew parallels between the Civil War and last year's US Capitol attack in the pivotal tests they presented for the country's democratic institutions. Cheney discussed the historic importance of a peaceful transfer of power - which she said 'has been honored by every American president, except one' - and recalled...

A trip to the mall in Russia is a different experience today than it was just a few short months ago. “When I had my first child, there was all this choice. Mothercare, Zara, you name it,” said Evgenia Marsheva, a 33-year-old architect. But when she went shopping in Moscow this month for her newborn, many of those large retail brands had been shuttered. “Now, I can only find very cheap or extremely expensive Russian products. I was brought up with tales of the limited choices that my parents had during the Soviet Union. I never thought that would come...

Today [May 22] is the fifth anniversary of the Manchester Arena atrocity. Five years since 22 young souls were extinguished by an Islamist extremist. Five years since children and teenagers were brutalised in the most barbaric way imaginable for the crime of loving life and music and Ariana Grande. Five years since the neo-fascistic intolerance of the Islamist worldview was visited with such ferocity upon youthful, carefree pop fans. And how are we commemorating this grimmest of anniversaries? Meekly, quietly, if at all. The message from on high is the same today as it was in May 2017: Don’t get...
