The White House refused to rule out President Joe Biden issuing a presidential pardon for his son Hunter Biden or for his brother James Biden as federal investigations continue over their foreign business dealings. “That’s not a hypothetical I’m going to entertain,” White House communications director Kate Bedingfield said during the daily press briefing when asked about a potential pardon “I don’t have anything to add from this podium.” Bedingfield was reluctant to address any aspect of the Hunter Biden story, after CNN, The Washington Post, and the New York Times recently published stories about the federal tax probe into...

On this day 77 years ago, facing the threat of immediate execution, he and his men displayed an act of courage and character that exemplifies what it means to take a stand against evil. US Army Master Sergeant Roddie Edmonds, 422nd Infantry Regiment, 106th Infantry Division, the “Golden Lions”, was captured by German forces at the onset of the Battle of the Bulge. Joe Biden on Wednesday announced he is planning on dropping a Trump-era order blocking asylum seekers at the US border on May 23. Title 42 was used by President Trump in 2020 to expel migrants seeking asylum during the Covid pandemic. Migrants camped out in Tapachula, Mexico (Guatemala border) answered Biden’s invitation to the US border. Hundreds of migrants in Tapachula left the refugee camp on Friday morning and began marching to the US border. The migrants clashed with law enforcement and used a giant wooden cross as a battering ram to break through the Guard lines, AP reported. 'Some...

Ghislaine Maxwell lost her bid for a new trial Friday after she requested a re-do because of a chatty juror who threw her conviction into doubt with a series of post-trial interviews. The order by Manhattan federal court Judge Alison Nathan came weeks after she grilled the juror, who was identified by media outlets by his first and middle names, Scotty David, about his answers on a juror questionnaire during the selection process last year. David responded “no” to questions on the form that asked if he or his close family and friends had ever been the victims of sexual...

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) observed that Dr. Anthony Fauci was once able to “tell the truth” about natural immunity — a reality the White House chief medical adviser has largely dismissed throughout the Chinese coronavirus pandemic. “Hmmm…Once upon a time Anthony Fauci could tell the truth…What happened?” Paul asked, referring to an older clip of Fauci on CSPAN, where the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) chief firmly defended the concept of natural immunity against an illness. When asked if someone who had the flu for 14 days needed a flu shot, Fauci said, “Well, no. If she...

On March 21, 2022, the President of the United States, Joe Biden, speaking of the Ukraine-Russia war, said: "there's going to be a new world order out there, and we have to lead it." The President did not elaborate on what this “new world order” would look like. What is the United States strategic aspiration, what it seeks to achieve, what it seeks to prevent? As Yogi Berra observed, "If you don't know where you are going, you will end up someplace else." That is exactly what is happening. Over the last thirty years, the inability to deal with Russia’s...

Russian energy giant Gazprom said on Friday it was exiting its business in Germany, amid a dispute between the two countries over Moscow's insistence on switching payments for Russian gas to rubles from euros. The company said it had terminated its participation in Gazprom Germania and all of its assets, including Gazprom Marketing & Trading. It provided no further details or explanation. German business daily Handelsblatt reported on Thursday that the German economy ministry was...

As former Vice President Mike Pence positions himself for a possible presidential race, he is setting a great example of substance of the sort that the public should demand from all White House aspirants. On Thursday, Pence’s Advancing American Freedom organization launched a “Freedom Agenda” featuring what, by modern standards, is a remarkable amount of depth and specificity. Readers may also be struck by how much its tone sounds Reaganesque, more focused on what the group (and thus Pence) is for than what it opposes. The agenda is divided into three sections: American culture, American opportunity, and American leadership. Each...

An insulin-sensitizing drug can benefit patients with insulin resistance at lower doses than has typically been prescribed, according to a study The study shows that low doses of pioglitazone used to treat diabetes in patients with insulin resistance may be preferable. Dandona says pioglitazone is currently used to treat patients with Type 2 diabetes. "Unfortunately, many clinicians are reluctant to use pioglitazone because of adverse effects, particularly weight gain and edema, and the drug is seldom prescribed by neurologists...

Chelsea Clinton has always appreciated her body and cared for her health — and that positive thinking is something she credits to mom Hillary Clinton. Chelsea said that weight was a topic in the Clinton household, but it was never directed towards her. "My mom always had a really strong emphasis on health. So I wasn't allowed to eat sugar...

Vice President Kamala Harris said Friday on MSNBC’s “The ReidOut” that there must be consequences for anyone, including elected leaders, involved in the January 6, 2021 riot at the U.S. Capitol. I don’t think there is another way to describe it that took place last year. And as we get more information about what happened and who was behind it, we’re finding out there were members of Congress who were complicit. There were United...

(Bloomberg) -- American travelers are raring to go, and rising hotel prices aren’t stopping them. For evidence, see what Miami hotels are demanding on the weekend in early May when the Formula 1 racing series comes to town: The 1 South Beach is requiring four-night minimums at just under $4,000 a night, while the Hampton Inn in the city’s Brickell neighborhood is charging more than $400 a night. Vacationers, flush with cash and eager to hit the road after two years of pandemic living, are paying up at resorts, roadside hotels and even urban properties – at least in cities...

Dear Marylanders, Today I signed into law the largest tax cut package in state history—including the Retirement Tax Elimination Act—which will provide an additional $1.86 billion in long overdue tax relief for Maryland retirees, families, and small businesses.
