Majority of priests and laity in Eastern-rite Ernakulum-Angamaly Archdiocese insist on their way of celebrating Mass Priests and laity in an Eastern-rite archdiocese in India have appealed to Pope Francis to consider their way of celebrating Mass as “a liturgy variant” to settle a five-decades-old dispute. An overwhelming 435 of the 465 priests in Ernakulum-Angamaly Archdiocese of the Syro-Malabar Church in the southern state of Kerala have signed a memorandum urging the Vatican to accept its order of the Mass even though it differs from what the bishops’ synod decrees. Priests across the archdiocese have celebrated Mass facing the congregation...

All foreign leased aircraft still in Russia after the termination of Western leasing contracts have been entered into the Russian aircraft register and will remain in Russia, Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov said on Thursday. The imposition of sanctions by Western powers in response to Russia's military campaign in Ukraine forced Western leasing firms to terminate leasing contracts with Russian airlines for more than 500 aircraft. More than 400 of these are still in Russia.

The meeting has been likened to the meetings of the Sankt Gallen Mafia in Europe.CHICAGO (LifeSiteNews) — A select group of high-ranking U.S. prelates, along with the Papal Nuncio and Vatican curial officials, secretively gathered in Chicago recently to “understand the spirit of what they call the ‘opposition’” to Pope Francis, and to promote the ideology of Vatican II. Between March 25 and 26, as Pope Francis was praying the act of consecration of Russia and Ukraine, a conference was held at Loyola University Chicago entitled “Pope Francis, Vatican II, and the Way Forward.”Jointly sponsored by Boston College’s Boisi Center...

VATICAN CITY (AP) — Pope Francis allegedly authorized negotiating an exit strategy for a key figure in the Vatican’s bungled London real estate investment and was so satisfied with the outcome that he paid for a celebratory dinner at a fancy Roman fish restaurant the night the 15-million- euro payout closed, a defendant in the Vatican’s extortion trial testified Wednesday. The testimony by Monsignor Mauro Carlino, a onetime secretary in the Vatican secretariat of state, placed the pope squarely in the center of the Vatican’s landmark trial and raised questions about why low-ranking Vatican officials were indicted and their superiors...

WHEN VLADIMIR PUTIN ordered Russian troops into Ukraine he was not alone in thinking victory would be swift. Many Western analysts also expected Kyiv, the capital, to fall within 72 hours. Ukrainian valour and ingenuity confounded those assumptions. As the war enters its sixth week, the side that is contemplating victory is not Russia but Ukraine—and it would be a victory that redraws the map of European security. Speaking to The Economist in Kyiv on March 25th, President Volodymyr Zelensky explained how people power is the secret to Ukraine’s resistance and why the war is shifting in his nation’s favour....

Rep. Maxine Waters told a group of homeless people to “go home,” dropped an f-bomb, and then tried to intimidate a reporter out of writing a story about it. Last week, a group of homeless people were misled by social media rumors and showed up at an event by the organization Fathers and Mothers Who Care. Hundreds of people arrived believing that the organization was handing out Section 8 housing vouchers. Waters, who was in attendance, told the crowd of desperate people to “go home.” “We don’t got no home, that’s why we’re here!” one of the people responded. “What...

I have been meditating for the past few days on Psalms 142 and 143. I was interested in what King David was going through when he said, “When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then you knew my path. In the way in which I walk they have secretly set a snare for me. Look on my right hand and see, for there is no one who acknowledges me; refuge has failed me; no one cares for my soul” (Psalm 142:3-4, NKJV). David actually cried to the Lord, “Attend to my cry, for I am brought very low… Bring my...

While speaking to reporters on Thursday, Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) urged the Biden administration to reconsider its reported plans to lift Title 42 and expressed his opposition to ending Title 42. Manchin added that, “If anything, we ought to be looking at permanency on Title 42,” and that doing so might push Congress to fix immigration policy. Manchin stated, “I think they should reconsider. I sent a letter. I’m against removing Title 42. If anything, we ought to be looking at permanency on Title 42, and having a good — maybe that would get us to — spur us to...

“‘Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill’” (Matthew 5:17). The ceremonial law governed the form of Israel’s worship. When Jesus died on the cross, He fulfilled that law as well as the judicial. Sacrifice was the heart of all Old Testament worship, and as the perfect sacrifice, Jesus brought all the other sacrifices to an end. While He was on the cross, “the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom” (Matt. 27:51). Christ Himself became the new and perfect way...

The government insists it will ban so-called conversion therapy for gay or bisexual people in England and Wales-but not for transgendered people. It comes hours after it had said it would drop the ban entirely. The announcement that it would explore "non-legislative measures" to prevent the practice prompted a furious response from LGBT groups and many MP's. According to NHS England, conversion therapy tries to change someone's sexual orientation or gender identity. A senior government source has told the BBC the ban will feature in the next Queen's Speech...

In the week since Biden Supreme Court nominee Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson was questioned about her pattern of reduced sentencing in grisly child pornography cases, two narratives have developed. The first view holds that the question of sentencing, and the implication that Judge Jackson is soft on child pornography offenders, is “disingenuous,” “a smear,” and “meritless to the point of demagoguery.” According to this narrative, such claims distort the rate at which judges routinely depart from the sentencing guidelines and do not distinguish the harm between the production of child pornography and mere possession of it. This view also seems...

COLOMBO, April 1 (Reuters) - Police imposed an overnight curfew in several parts of Sri Lanka's main city of Colombo early on Friday after protests over the government's handling of the country's worst economic crisis in decades turned violent, an official said. Gas prices have skyrocketed across the U.S., jumping above $4 a gallon in most states. President Biden released a video message to mark International Transgender Day of Visibility on Thursday, saying that transgender people are “made in the image of God” and that their parents should affirm their gender identity. Biden, who as a senator backed an array of anti-LGBT legislation, slammed what he called “hateful bills” in several states that restrict transgender participation in girls’ sports and limit discussion of sexuality and gender identity. “To everyone celebrating Transgender Day of Visibility, I want you to know that your president sees you — Jill, Kamala, Doug, our entire administration sees you — for who you...

Step 1: Offer a premium fixed price for gold to domestic Russian banks who can't sell their gold internationally due to sanctions, encouraging domestic gold flows into Bank of Russia. Step 2: Strengthen the Ruble internationally by insisting on energy payments in Rubles, turning fixed price into a premium internationally as well, encouraging international gold flows into Russia. Step 3: Turn the Ruble into a credible gold substitute at a fixed rate. The 5000RUB window closes June 30. Does Russia declare the Ruble convertible to gold after that? At what rate? Rather than speculate on the Ruble, just buy the...
