... The monumental decision to walk away from the $8 billion project came at a devastating cost to communities that pinned their hopes and investments on the success of the massive venture. South Dakota hotel owner Laurie Cox, who bought a two-story hotel in Midland and housed pipeline workers before the project was pulled, said that although it's exciting to think about the pipeline coming back, it's hard not to see the writing on the wall. She recently drove past some of the man camps built to accommodate thousands of skilled workers hired to build the pipeline. The mostly abandoned...

Russia’s war on Ukraine is continuing to boost food prices. While the US and European countries are engaged in economic warfare against Moscow, it appears Russia’s turn to strike back has emerged. On Thursday, Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov said Russia decided to suspend fertilizer exports. This comes when global food prices are at record highs, and European fertilizer makers are struggling to produce nutrients ahead of the spring growing season, increasing global food inflation risks. President Vladimir Putin said the fertilizer export ban was a move to ensure stable domestic food prices. This is another sign...

LONDON (Reuters) - Russia on Thursday shifted its stance over the bombing of a Ukrainian hospital in the city of Mariupol, with a mix of statements that veered between aggressive denials and a call by the Kremlin to establish clear facts.Ukrainian President Volodymr Zelenskiy said three people including a child had been killed in the bombing on Wednesday, and rejected Russian assertions there had been no patients there."Like always, they lie confidently," said Zelenskiy, who has accused Moscow of waging genocide in the war it launched two weeks ago.In the face of worldwide condemnation there were rare signs of inconsistency...

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Beloved feminist icon and 2024 presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton has announced she will be joining efforts to halt Russian aggression. Starting this week, she has promised to stop importing dossiers from Russia. "For a long time, I have relied on Russian intelligence as a prime source for phony dirt on my political appointments," said Clinton as she adjusted the scope on her high-powered sniper rifle. "Starting today, I will refuse to import my disinformation or even my hitmen from Russian sources—that is, unless it's absolutely necessary." Sources in Russia say this will cost the Russian economy over 3,000 jobs,...

Congress should use the omnibus to vacuum up its unnecessary spending, to control both our national debt and runaway inflation. Yeah, right. News flash from Washington: Congress is rushing to pass a bill it hasn’t read, full of earmarks and special favors for campaign donors. Where have we heard that before? The House introduced the omnibus bill after midnight Tuesday, and it’s a whopping 2,741 pages. A combination of poor planning, Democratic delusions, and an upcoming vacation (seriously!) have Congress rushing to ram through a bill totaling thousands of pages, and trillions of dollars, in a matter of hours. Again....

Last I heard the Truckers Convoy is going around Washington day after day expending God knows how much money on expensive gas. That's fine, but the media doesn’t cover it (it covers mostly Ukraine) and Biden doesn’t notice or if he does, he laughs. I feel sorry for these guys who travelled far and nobody takes notice. They are using incredible amounts of money on gas. Is there another way? A better way to get people to notice? Also, I am looking for a meme picture that says I wake up happy that I don't have to worry about a...

After an 11-year drought, congressional earmarks are back with vengeance. The $1.5 trillion, 2,741-page omnibus spending package is loaded with funding for lawmaker pet projects, some of which could help incumbents in this fall’s elections. The legislation includes more than 4,000 earmarks, according to a list of projects provided to The Hill by a Senate Republican aide that spanned 367 pages. “There’s been a decade of pent-up desire to get back to earmarks and you’re seeing some of that come to fruition, particularly those people who were writing the appropriations bills, dealing with all of those type of issues and...

Washington (AFP) – Caught on the back foot by the Taliban's lightning takeover of Kabul last August, US intelligence services have earned a measure of redemption with Russia's invasion of Ukraine, which they predicted and detailed with impressive precision. According to several US officials consulted by AFP, the US military understood as early as October 2021 that Russian troop movements on the border with Ukraine were not normal -- Moscow said they were conducting regular drills, but the formations on the ground did not match up. The Pentagon voiced its concerns to the White House, and US intelligence services quickly...

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: 1 Peter 3:15 (King James Version) The war on oil is a rousing success as gas prices approach $5/gal. This will rise all goods and services double as the Communist Party moves towards their goal of destroying the American economy. There is no happier day for the DNC than the further crippling of their greatest enemy the racist, sexist, homophobic United States. It is easier...

After many months of the January 6 committee’s partisan overreach, on Wednesday, the Republican National Committee filed a lawsuit against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the January 6 committee over their efforts to subpoena RNC databases. “The RNC has sued to stop the January 6th Committee from unlawfully seizing confidential information about the internal activities of the Republican Party and millions of its supporters which is completely unrelated to the attack on the Capitol,” RNC chief counsel Justin Riemer said in a statement. “The select panel has subpoenaed Salesforce.com for the data it maintains for the RNC. Those digital communications...

Pimco is at risk of losing up to $2.6 billion if Russia fails to make its debt payments, after the asset manager bet big against a default, according to a Financial Times report. The investing giant holds $1.5 billion in Russian Federation-linked government bonds, the report said, and it had sold $1.1 billion in credit default swaps, or CDS, on Russian sovereign debt at the start of 2022. That means Pimco is vulnerable to lose out on two fronts — the bond holdings and the CDS — if Russia does default on its sovereign debt, which Fitch Ratings has warned...

And I will not retreat.”“I will dig my boots in the Arkansas soil and I will fight for the people...
