Kamala Harris is not the sharpest tool in the Biden drawer. Unfortunately, she is far too willing to share her deep thoughts: We’re two years and to this thing, you know, people are – we want to get back to normal. We all do. But we have to then do the tough and hard work of pushing through with solutions, understanding that there are going to be challenges. But let’s meet the challenges where they are. And let’s also take a moment to see the progress we’ve achieved. This is one of my favorites "We must together, work together." pic.twitter.com/BaGxQxmVYe...

(NEXSTAR) – Should you be worried about thieves stealing your car’s catalytic converter? The answer may depend on what kind of car you’re driving.Catalytic converters, which help scrub pollutants from your engine’s exhaust, have become more and more attractive to thieves in recent years. Thanks to the increasing prices of the precious metals used in the production — i.e, platinum, rhodium and palladium — an ill-gotten catalytic converter can “typically” fetch between $50 and $250 when sold to an unscrupulous recycling facility, according to the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB).The pandemic has only driven up demand and prices of these...

Would you look at that, it’s Sunday again - already. I’m planning to spend the day catching up on long-overdue correspondence, making a pie,Pie for people with too much time on their hands and who are also OCDPie for the rest of usOr if you’re really short on time because you plan to watch the entire Daytona 500:Costco’s ‘peel-out’ pumpkin pieand going for a walk, although not necessarily in that order. University of Miami journalism professor Tsitsi Wakhisi remembers Trayvon Martin. Ten years ago, Sybrina Fulton joined the Black mothers’ crying line. She had lost her 17-year-old son, Trayvon, after he had walked too slowly in the rain at his father’s housing complex in Sanford. It made his killer, George Zimmerman, think he was “suspicious.” Since then, more Black mothers have joined Fulton in the crying line, and still more are coming. But Black mothers have been crying for centuries, mourning the sons they got … but did not get to keep. Not in America. Whether slave owners yanked your child...

Republicans hold a double-digit lead over Democrats in a generic congressional ballot, a Rasmussen Reports survey released Friday found. The survey asked respondents, “If the elections for Congress were held today, would you vote for the Republican candidate or for the Democratic candidate?” Half said they would vote for the Republican on the ballot, compared to 37 percent who said they would support the Democrat and four percent who said “some other candidate”. Nine percent remain unsure, although that is outside the survey’s +/- 2 percent margin of error:

'While relying on two completely different technologies, both stylometric [quantitative study of literary style] analyses could establish that QAnon's early period on the 4chan forum, from October to December 2017, was likely the result of a collaboration between Paul Furber and Ron Watkins,' according to Claude-Alain Roten, the CEO of OrphAnalytics.

Six months ago, the transatlantic alliance was on shaky ground, with President Biden’s promise of a reinvigorated NATO under U.S. leadership severely undermined by the Afghanistan debacle and a foreign policy that seemed unready for prime time. Today, Biden and his team have redeemed themselves in the eyes of many NATO allies, with a tough stance on Ukraine and the successful wrangling of the often-fractious alliance to support it. Ukraine’s fate, and Russia’s future relationship with the West, remain uncertain. Biden has said he is convinced Russian President Vladimir Putin, with more than 150,000 troops and massive weaponry amassed on...

Vice President Kamala Harris further raised the alarm of Russian President Vladimir Putin invading Ukraine, using the word “war” on Sunday for the first time during her visit in Munich. “I mean, listen, guys, we’re talking about the potential for war in Europe,” she told reporters after a series of meetings with world leaders in Europe. “I mean, let’s really take a moment to understand the significance of what we’re talking about.” Harris took the lead for the Biden administration at the Munich Security Conference in Germany and delivered a speech vowing to stand with Europe against Russian aggression in...

Officers found one woman dead and two men and three other women were taken to hospital, police said. Their conditions were not immediately known. Police did not immediately name anyone involved in the shooting. Social media flyers showed there was a planned march for Amir Locke, a Black man who was fatally shot by police in Minneapolis, the same time the...

A leading environmental lawmaker from Torrance has proposed a bill that would create a state fund to support and retrain thousands of oil industry workers as California tries to phase out fossil fuel production. The idea of guiding California’s 112,000 oil industry workers out of their current field and into other careers is often referred to as “just transition,” and is considered by policy researchers a necessary step to counter job losses as the state strives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. But even with a Democratic supermajority in the state Legislature, such a proposal faces an uphill battle because it’s...

Members of sports team families and business leaders are among those pouring their personal fortunes into campaigns for office in 2022, making an early impact on primary contests for key midterm races. In Ohio alone, four self-funding candidates have already combined to contribute nearly $30 million to their US Senate campaigns. Mike Gibbons, a Cleveland-based businessman who made his fortune in real estate and investment banking, has loaned his campaign over $11 million. Matt Dolan, a state senator whose family owns the Cleveland Guardians baseball team, has directly contributed about $8 million to his campaign, and loaned it $2.5 million...

Does anyone have any experience in getting help for a seriously disturbed friend or relative? In this case, the seriously disturbed person is our nephew, aged 38, and we're really beginning to worry about what is going to happen to him in the not-too-distant future. He dropped out of high school in the 9th or 10th grade. I don't think he's ever read a book. He cannot hold a job: there is almost NO chance of that. In fact, I'd guess he's never held a job more than a month or two, tops. I once caught him bringing marijuana into...

hio Sen. Rob Portman’s (R ) endorsement of Republican Senate candidate Jane Timken could alter the dynamics of the state’s crowded GOP primary and give Timken a needed boost. Portman, who is retiring next year, on Wednesday offered Timken the race’s most high-profile endorsement to date. Timken will likely get access to the senator’s vast donor network and campaign apparatus in the state, where Portman is popular. Timken’s campaign said it raised $250,000 in the 24 hours after Portman endorsed her. “This is the most significant thing that has happened in the Senate race. Period. End of discussion,” said one...
