Years ago, a young Navy Pilot was injured while ejecting from his A-4 Skyhawk due to engine failure during a cat shot from the carrier, but due to the heroics of rescue helicopter crew and the ship's hospital staff, the only permanent injury was the loss of one ear. Since he wasn't physically impaired, he remained on flight status and eventually became an Admiral. However, during his career he was always sensitive about his appearance. One day the Admiral was interviewing two Navy Master Chiefs and a Marine Sergeant Major for his personal staff. The first Master Chief was a...

Most Americans believe President Biden is bungling his handling of inflation, according to a new poll Sunday — just days after he called a Fox News reporter a “stupid son of a *****” for asking a question about the dire issue. Sixty-nine percent give Biden a thumbs down for his response to inflation, which hit a four-decade high of 7 percent in December, the ABC News/Ipsos poll shows.

President Biden on Sunday called for the release of American hostage Mark Frerichs ahead of the two-year anniversary of his abduction if the Taliban expects to be recognized as the legitimate government of Afghanistan. "Two years ago tomorrow, U.S. Navy veteran Mark Frerichs was taken hostage in Afghanistan. A civil engineer, he spent a decade helping the people of Afghanistan. He has done nothing wrong. And yet, for two years the Taliban has held him captive," Biden said in a statement.

[snip]At Saturday's rally in Conroe, Tex., Trump said, "If I run, and if I win, we will treat those people from Jan. 6 fairly." Putting words in former president Trump's mouth is a given....you always have to go back to see what he really said.

"And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved." "And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven." "Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household,...

“We live in a system that favors high-profit medicines. Those are the only things in play, and they don’t work. They are failing,” says Dr. Pierre Kory, a pulmonary and critical care specialist. He’s the president of the Frontline COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance. Two years into this pandemic, why haven’t there been more clinical trials of repurposed drugs to treat COVID-19? “It’s not about ivermectin. It’s about the pharmaceutical industry capture of our agencies, and at suppressing and avoiding the use of cheap, repurposed drugs," says Kory.

The questions that arise in the face of any boycott effort—whether against an unethical retailer, a disgraced performer, or an exploitative employer—can be paralyzing. We live in a world of compromise and wickedness, built of systems guided not by virtue but by profit. So why, the boycotter must be asked, draw the line here? We also live in a world in which individuals rarely ever wield more power than institutions. Can any one person’s resistance matter?

Kid Rock has never been shy when it comes to sharing his viewpoints, which are often in line with conservative politics, including former President Donald J. Trump. And that includes his disdain for mask and vaccine mandates amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Ahead of his upcoming Bad Reputation Tour, the Michigan native took to Instagram and promised he wouldn't play any venues that require such regulations.

Nils Lofgren announced Saturday that he's removing his music from Spotify to protest vaccine misinformation propagated by Joe Rogan. The 70-year-old Bruce Springsteen guitarist made the announcement in solidarity with Neil Young, who removed his music from Spotify days earlier, by making his announcement in Young's newsletter. Joni Mitchell has also followed suit by taking her music off the service in protest.

Scott Hassan, who is credited for writing much of the initial coding for Google, has been hogging the limelight for setting up a website to badmouth his ex-wife. Accused of “divorce terrorism”, the 51-year old Stanford alumnus reportedly dumped his wife of 13 years, Allison Huynh, over a text. While the divorce happened seven years ago, the two are still battling over the division of billions of dollars of assets. A hearing of their case will take place in a San Jose (California) court today (August 30). Who is Scott Hassan? While Sergey Brin and Larry Page are famous worldwide...

Self-serving politicians are easy to spot. They’re different from the actual public servants like Donald Trump, Rand Paul, and Marjorie Taylor Greene who gave up so much in order to do what’s best for the country. Self-serving politicians tilt policies to benefit themselves, their families, and the cronies who help to keep them in power. Many have equated “The Squad” to being the radical progressive version of the ideologues; they may be wrong in their Neo-Marxist perspectives, but at least they’re supposed to be true believers in their cause. Yet time and again, we’ve seen contradictions to this notion. Squad...

"So we basically caught them here in NH a few different ways...What just recently transpired is that we have three different elections within a year and half of each other, all the same memmory cards, all the same serial numbers, the same sticker placements, and one of the election officials actaully called LHS after we informed her that she was supposed to keep the cards for 22 months and basically what LHS said is that they'll pull the card for her and send it back to her, for the machines, and then the next day called and admitted admitted to...

The alarms are growing louder about the Ukraine crisis - and questions are becoming sharper as to how the issue will reverberate through American domestic politics.A full-scale Russian invasion would pitch President Biden into new turmoil. The failure to prevent such a move would be regarded as a diplomatic failure by the White House. It would be another foreign policy misstep to add to the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan last year. But Republicans are also divided on Ukraine, with some the most pro-Trump elements of the GOP voicing isolationist sentiments. Their views complicate the GOP's traditional hawkish image.Biden has ruled out...

Below-freezing temperatures expected in Florida this weekendWhile freezing temperatures bring most places white specks, the same weather brings Florida green scales. Falling iguanas are expected to accompany the coldest weather the state has felt since 2018 this weekend. That’s right. Overnight and early morning lows aren’t the only thing projected to plummet in Florida come Saturday and Sunday. Because they are cold-blooded reptiles, iguanas are known to become immobile and drop when cold weather below 40 degrees comes around in South Florida.

President Joe Biden has pledged to nominate the first black woman to the Supreme Court, but he seems to have forgotten about the time he filibustered a black woman judge’s nomination to America’s second-highest court for two years. Way back in 2003 through 2005, when Joe Biden was still a Democrat senator from Delaware, President George W. Bush nominated Janice Rogers Brown to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, but due to her conservative views, Joe Biden and the Democrats filibustered her nomination, blocking a final vote on her confirmation. Bush nominated Brown for the District of...
