The Brooklyn Nets are bringing back All-Star guard Kyrie Irving as a part-time player for games outside of New York, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The unfolding circumstances of Brooklyn's season - including injuries, players lost to health and safety protocols and an inordinate minutes load on their superstar players led the team to this move, sources said. So far, Irving has been unwilling to satisfy New York City mandates and become vaccinated to play home games, but the turbulence of the ongoing NBA season has caused the organization to reconsider their preseason decision to fully sideline Irving, sources said....

Anger is growing in Democratic ranks over the failure to get President Joe Biden's sweeping agenda through this year despite unified control of Congress, with their party already bracing for what could be a brutal Election Day in next November's midterms. Major issues they promised to deliver on, such as a bill to overhaul voting laws, stand virtually no chance of becoming law. And the biggest ticket item -- the $1.75 trillion Build Back Better plan to dramatically expand the social safety net -- which is still mired in talks with West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin, has yet to be...

The book will be released in late February. Meanwhile, it may be pre-ordered from Amazon or directly from the publisher. For an application of these principles to...

The Biden administration will offer bonuses to doctors who "create and implement an anti-racism plan" under new rules from the Department of Health and Human Services, a move meant to update Medicare payments to "reflect changes in medical practice." Effective Jan. 1, Medicare doctors can boost their reimbursement rates by conducting "a clinic-wide review" of their practice's "commitment to anti-racism." The plan should cover "value statements" and "clinical practice guidelines," according to HHS, and define race as "a political and social construct, not a physiological one"—a dichotomy many doctors say will discourage genetic testing and worsen racial health disparities.

“Therefore, for the sake of our diplomatic effort to resolve this crisis, we believe it is vital to restore Iran’s fear that its current nuclear path will trigger the use of force against it by the United States,” the letter signed by Leon Panetta and David Petraeus read. Al Arabiya English reports now that Two former CIA directors and a handful of former senior US officials urged President Joe Biden to “restore Iran’s fear that its current nuclear path will trigger the use of force,” in a letter published Friday. “Diplomacy appears to be moving backward,” the letter read on...

THIRD WEEK OF ADVENT MATTHEW 1:1-17 Friends, today we read the opening lines of Matthew’s Gospel— the first words that one reads in the New Testament. They are a listing of the genealogy of Jesus, the forty-two generations that stretch from Abraham to Christ. If the Word truly dwelt among us, then he was part of a family that, like most, was fairly dysfunctional—a mix of the good and bad. And this is such good news for us. Let me highlight just two figures from Jesus’ family. First, Ruth, who was not an Israelite but rather a Moabite, a foreigner....

Vulnerable House Democrats residing in battleground districts have started to publicly show their frustration with the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) and the “leadership” of chairman Rep. Sean Partick Maloney (D-NY). Vulnerable Democrat members frustrated over potentially losing in the midterms recount their frustration with the DCCC — the sole job of which is to reelect incumbents and help elect members to vacant seats — and Chairman Maloney — the top Democrat tasked with keeping their House majority. This happened as the committee reportedly “asked vulnerable Democrats to send [Politico] Playbook positive statements about Maloney.”

In Rome ... President Joe Biden met with Pope Francis at the Vatican, where the pontiff apparently gave the second Catholic U.S. president a subtle political message. “We just talked about the fact he was happy that I was a good Catholic and I should keep receiving Communion," Biden said, referring to the growing rift in the U.S. Catholic Church over whether public officials who publicly advocate for abortion should be denied the sacrament

The arrival of the omicron variant has led some politicians and public health grandees to call for a return to business closures and 'circuit-breaker' lockdowns. ... My message is this: we can’t stop the spread of COVID, but we can end the pandemic. In October 2020, I wrote the Great Barrington Declaration (GBD) along with Prof. Sunetra Gupta of Oxford University and Prof. Martin Kulldorff of Harvard University. The centerpiece of the declaration is a call for increased focused protection of the vulnerable older population, who are more than a thousand times more likely to die from COVID infection than...

“God highly exalted Him” (Philippians 2:9). The Father exalted the Son as the God-man. A question that often springs to mind regarding the exaltation of Christ is how Jesus could be exalted since He is already God. We find the answer in Jesus’ High-Priestly prayer in John 17, where He asked the Father to restore to Him the glory He had with the Father before the world began (v. 5). Christ’s request shows that He gave up something that God would give back to Him. Christ gave up His glory in the Incarnation. Beyond glorification, in His exaltation Christ would...

The Jonas Brothers are lending their voices to "Joe Byron's" COVID-19 vaccination push, appearing in a spoof on a viral TikTok video alongside President Biden. Nick Jonas shared a video on Friday filmed with his pair of brothers, showing the "Sucker" singers yukking it up around the holiday decor at the White House. "Are you vaccinated?" the performers say in the audio-dubbed clip. "Yes, sir!" they exclaim.

Because God loves you, he will work to cleanse you, but it is a loving chastening upon those who repent and return to him. You may feel God’s arrows in your soul because of your past and present sins, but if you have a repentant heart and want to turn from error, you can call upon his chastening love. You will not feel his wrath as the heathens do but rather the rod of his discipline, applied by his loving hand. When you know you have arrived at your lowest point, it is time to seek the Lord in brokenness,...

SANTA FE — Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham signed into law Friday a bill setting new political boundary lines for New Mexico’s three congressional districts for the next decade. The new congressional map, which was passed by state lawmakers on largely party-line votes with majority Democrats voting in favor, could reshape the political landscape in New Mexico. It splits Albuquerque into two different districts and moves some of southeast New Mexico, traditionally a conservative stronghold, into congressional districts now represented by U.S. Reps. Melanie Stansbury and Teresa Leger Fernandez, both Democrats. While a court challenge could still be filed against the...

[Killed in the deadly shooting attack in Samaria: Yehuda Dimentman 14] This is how they are ... regularly with smiling likes during terrorist attacks or a disaster that befalls Israel. These are not negligible numbers. To date, 0404 News has blocked tens of thousands of Arab surfers praising terrorist attacks and murders. The industry leaders asked for an immediate lifting of the cultivation tax placed on growers, a three-year holiday from the excise tax and an expansion of retail shops throughout much of the state. Companies, executives and groups signing the letter included the California Cannabis Industry Association, the California arm of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws, the Los Angeles-based United Cannabis Business Association, Flow Kana Inc., Harborside Inc., and CannaCraft.
