Europe is turning to boosters of COVID-19 vaccines as it seeks to protect citizens from the fourth coronavirus wave that is sweeping the bloc as vaccine immunity wanes. Infections are spiraling. In the last week alone, there were nearly 1.8 million cases and 24,000 deaths in the World Health Organization Europe region — accounting for 59 percent of global cases and 48 percent of deaths. This makes the region the new “epicenter” of the pandemic, warned WHO Europe boss Hans Kluge on Thursday.

Bill Gates has warned that governments must prepare for future pandemics and smallpox terror attacks by investing billions in research and development. Mr Gates made the warning during a Policy Exchange interview with the chair of the Health Select Committee Jeremy Hunt. The Microsoft founder also called for the formation of a new billion-dollar World Health Organisation Pandemic Task Force. While the research may be expensive, he said that it could also lead to other innovations, such as eradicating flu and the common cold. He said that countries like the US and the UK must spend “tens of billions” to...

Now, a grand jury is alleging that Dolan, 71, was behind at least some of the claims included in the dossier, according to a 39-page indictment obtained by John Durham, the special counsel probing the Justice Department’s Russia investigation. The indictment also suggests that Dolan, who worked on both Bill and Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaigns and on a State Department advisory board during the Clinton administration, was so partisan that any information he provided would be suspect. Dolan is left unidentified in the charges against Igor Danchenko, a Russia analyst who, the indictment claims, provided the core allegations included in...

California Tries to Close the Gap in Math, but Sets Off a Backlash Proposed guidelines in the state would de-emphasize calculus, reject the idea that some children are naturally gifted and build a connection to social justice. Critics say math shouldn’t be political. But ever since a draft was opened for public comment in February, the recommendations have set off a fierce debate over not only how to teach math, but also how to solve a problem more intractable than Fermat’s last theorem: closing the racial and socioeconomic disparities in achievement that persist at every level of math education. The...

On this date in 1730, Prussia’s greatest king watched his boyhood lover put to death at his father’s order. Happy families are all alike; every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way. Most of those ways were explored at some point by a Hohenzollern. The 18-year-old prince Frederick had a thoroughly frosty relationship with the old man. Surly Frederick William I — “the soldier king” — didn’t have much use for his sensitive, music-loving son. An “effeminate fool,” dad thought the boy, and did not scruple to beat him publicly as he forcibly molded the unwilling heir into a...

I can't post Mercola's article on FR due to some copyright infringement, but the article this video was found imbedded in stated the following: Malone predicts that as the shots’ effectiveness wanes, we’re going to see increasing cases of vaccinated people still getting COVID-19 and being hospitalized and dying as a result. He puts a new peak at around January or February 2022. If anyone wants the URL to the article, Freepmail me. If you want to send me your email address, I'll send it to you that way as well.

Nursing Students With Religious Objections To Vaccine Mandate Victorious In Federal Court Against MCCCD: A federal judge in Phoenix issued a preliminary injunction Friday against the Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD) after finding that two nursing students deserve to graduate this year even if they need an accommodation due to their religious objection to receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. “Defendant shall make available to Plaintiffs a suitable accommodation that will allow Plaintiffs to satisfy the clinical components of their coursework and complete their academic programs as scheduled in December 2021,” U.S. District Judge Steven P. Logan wrote in his order...

Former President Donald Trump is scheduled to attend a fundraiser next week for Arizona Republican Blake Masters, marking his first foray into the state’s contentious GOP Senate primary. The fundraiser, according to an invitation obtained by POLITICO, is being held Wednesday night at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, a popular venue for candidates seeking to build goodwill with the former president. While Trump this fall endorsed candidates for Arizona governor and secretary of state, he has so far publicly stayed out of the Senate race. “From time to time, the president attends candidate events at his properties prior to...

Some Texas rock ’n’ roll legends known for being beer drinkers and hell raisers have partnered with a local distillery to release a boozy new commodity that’s really got some legs. Waco-based Balcones Distilling announced in early November that it is unveiling a new one-of-a-kind whiskey with collaborators and music icons ZZ Top. Dubbed Tres Hombres, in honor of the band’s first top 10 album, from 1973, the joint effort stems from a shared and prized Texas heritage and, of course, a fondness for the fiery spirit. “ZZ Top’s love of Texas runs deep, and we can’t think of a...
