How bad are things getting for Terry McAuliffe? On election eve, not only did the desperate Democrat resort to lying about his opponent, but this morning, his erstwhile supporters at CNN actually called out his lie! At a rally last night, McAuliffe said that Youngkin "is doing an event with Donald Trump here in Virginia . . . Glenn Youngkin is closing his event with Donald Trump here in Virginia." Surprisingly, on this morning's New Day, CNN reporter Sunlen Serfaty called out McAuliffe's lie: "Now we did see Democrat Terry McAuliffe last night in his closing pitch not deviate whatsoever...

Republican Gov. Greg Abbott (Texas) is in a virtual tie with Democrat Beto O'Rourke in a new poll released Monday that surveys voters on a possible gubernatorial race between the two. O'Rourke is flirting with running for governor in an election that would take place one year from now. The poll conducted by the Texas Hispanic Policy Foundation (TxHPF) found that 44 percent of voters are in favor of Abbott remaining as governor of Texas while 43 percent are in favor of O'Rourke becoming governor. The remainder of respondents said they were either unsure or wanted a minor party candidate...

Colorado’s Supreme Court on Monday approved the state’s new congressional map, rejecting arguments from civil rights groups that the redistricting plan deprives Latinos of a fair say in congressional elections. The map from the state’s Independent Redistricting Commission preserved the state’s 4-3 split between Democratic and Republican-leaning house districts while adding an eighth in the suburbs north of Denver that is a legitimate swing district, evenly divided between Democrats and Republicans.

NASA is continuing to investigate why the instruments in the Hubble Space Telescope recently went into safe mode configuration, suspending science operations. The instruments are healthy and will remain in safe mode while the mission team continues its investigation. Hubble’s science instruments issued error codes at 1:46 a.m. EDT on October 23, indicating the loss of a specific synchronization message. This message provides timing information the instruments use to correctly respond to data requests and commands. The mission team reset the instruments, resuming science operations the following morning. At 2:38 a.m. EDT, on October 25, the science instruments again issued...

Gov. J.B. Pritzker has declared gun violence in Illinois a public health crisis with an executive order. Officials on Monday unveiled a $250 million investment to implement a public safety plan over the next 3 years, and curtail gun violence around the state. According to data from the 2020 Uniform Crime Report, the crime rate in Illinois was 6.9% higher than the overall national crime rate. There were a total of 1,151 murders committed in Illinois in 2020, up 38% from the previous year. Chicago, a city struggling with high rates of gun violence, was the setting of 774 of...

In 1771, the German physician Hieronymus David Gaubius introduced the western scientific community to "a medication with many promises" – zinc. More than 200 years later, we can find it amongst the many supplements on pharmacy shelves. It's even known to be one of the rare things that might help fight off a common cold. Or does it? Evidence for zinc supplement use is limited, study results have been mixed, and dosage, formulation and length of prescription have not been investigated properly to date. A new meta-analysis of 28 randomized controlled trials has now strengthened the notion that supplementing zinc...

Huma Abedin has spent much of her career alongside Hillary Clinton. She was there when President Bill Clinton's affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky was revealed, and was still close with Clinton decades later, when her own unraveling marriage to disgraced former Congressman Anthony Weiner threatened to derail Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign. After 25 years in the background, Abedin is now sharing what it was like to be with Clinton when the Lewinsky affair became public. In her new book, "Both/And: A Life in Many Worlds," Abedin writes that she "was sad and angry on behalf of the woman...

In his November 1 op-ed for “The Hill,” Fox News Analyst Juan Williams claimed that the “parents’ rights’ mantra in the Virginia gubernatorial elections is simply “a code for white race politics.” To the contrary, this really is about parents’ rights and about what is best for all children. To inject charges of white supremacy and racism is to miss the whole point of why so many parents are so upset. In all candor and with due respect, I would have expected better from Mr. Williams. The fact is that these parents are concerned with the injection of racism into...

Cue the lights and sirens, America: The vaccine police will soon be coming to a workplace near you. And, according to one report, workers who are not vaccinated against the coronavirus may pay the price. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration, an agency within the Department of Labor, said Monday that an interagency review has been completed that was the final step for its plan to enforce President Joe Biden’s vaccine mandate on employers with 100 or more workers. "On November 1, the Office of Management and Budget completed its regulatory review of the emergency temporary standard. The Federal Register...

A top Democratic operative says voter fraud, especially with mail-in ballots, is no myth. And he knows this because he’s been doing it, on a grand scale, for decades. Mail-in ballots have become the latest flashpoint in the 2020 elections. While President Trump and the GOP warn of widespread manipulation of the absentee vote that will swell with COVID polling restrictions, many Democrats and their media allies have dismissed such concerns as unfounded. But the political insider, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he fears prosecution, said fraud is more the rule than the exception. His dirty work has...

A "Teacher of the Year" in Florida was arrested Friday after she allegedly struck a minor in the face – causing a nosebleed – after the student posted a message on Instagram questioning the educator's selection for the top honor, according to a report. Caroline Melanie Lee, the 60-year-old teacher at Darnell-Cookman Middle/High School, was subsequently arrested. She denied ever striking the student, The Florida Times-Union reported, citing the arrest report. The paper described troubling allegations from a student. The alleged incident occurred after some Instagram commenters questioned Lee being tapped for the honor, the paper reported. One issue that...

Liberals and fools, while not known for being cultured, are known for their elitist self-ascribed superiority. They believe themselves to be superior, none more embracing of said reasoning than half-wit, dead-from-the-neck-up meatheads with a college degree. And they excel at revising factual history. Such was a man who had nothing better to do than stick his nose into my business at the post office Friday past. The attendant at the counter and I were talking about the enormous cost of postage – $21.75 for first-class mail for one book to Canada juxtaposed to a media rate of $3.19 within the...

Hoping to avoid "any appearance of discouraging" vaccination, feds suspend employer requirement to report COVID vaccine side effects. ================================================================================ The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is tacitly encouraging employers to hide "adverse reactions" from COVID-19 vaccines, even as 80 million private workers face jab-or-job decisions due to an impending federal mandate that OSHA has fast-tracked under rarely used, special emergency powers. The Department of Labor's pledge Monday to publish an "emergency temporary standard" on COVID vaccine mandates "in the coming days" threatens to worsen the skewed picture federal regulators have been getting from employers for five months. OSHA abruptly reversed...

"Let's go Brandon!" got its start exactly one month ago at Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama, courtesy of an NBC Sports reporter who was interviewing driver Brandon Brown after he won his first Xfinity Series race. A crowd behind Brown was chanting "F*** Joe Biden." The reporter claimed the crowd was actually chanting "Let's go Brandon." And, thanks to social media, it went viral in a hurry.
