Colorado’s Supreme Court on Monday approved the state’s new congressional map, rejecting arguments from civil rights groups that the redistricting plan deprives Latinos of a fair say in congressional elections.
The map from the state’s Independent Redistricting Commission preserved the state’s 4-3 split between Democratic and Republican-leaning house districts while adding an eighth in the suburbs north of Denver that is a legitimate swing district, evenly divided between Democrats and Republicans.

Good morning!
Even if they have to Gerrymander to do it.
4 dem, 1 rep, and 1 swing seems to be a fair reflection on where CO is politically these days.
Would it make sense to just elect the correct number of Representatives statewide?
If a state gets 10 Reps than the top ten vote getters are elected as the 10 Reps.
Afterwards, divide up the state as to who represents which areas.
Or is that unconstitutional?
That dilutes local representation.
Colorado Ping ( Let me know if you wish to be added or removed from the list.)
Just have each elected Rep assigned a certain area or district after the election.
“If a state gets 10 Reps than the top ten vote getters are elected as the 10 Reps.
Or is that unconstitutional?.”
Far from unconstitutional, that is how most states did elect members to congress in the first elections of the Republic.
Going back to that system would revive the original vision of the founders.
Interesting
That’s a nice fantasy but what you see this morning is the reality.
It would blow your mind to know how rigged Colorado is.
It's been downhill since mail in voting started. Funny, that.
District 7 looks like a modest improvement for the foothills suburban cities, which have common interests. It has too many Mountain towns, just like District 2.
District 1 is Denver. Not much change, and no real need. "It's Democrats all the way down", and always will be.
District 6 looks like an almost rational collection of cities with common interests, as does District 8. Too many odd little border incursions.
Western Slope, Mountain, and Eastern Plains people get the shaft, as usual.
Just more of the same old crap to keep the Democrats in power. Still, a net improvement from the previous districts.
