Would it make sense to just elect the correct number of Representatives statewide?

If a state gets 10 Reps than the top ten vote getters are elected as the 10 Reps.

Afterwards, divide up the state as to who represents which areas.

Or is that unconstitutional?

That dilutes local representation.

Far from unconstitutional, that is how most states did elect members to congress in the first elections of the Republic.

Going back to that system would revive the original vision of the founders.
