The recent successful launch of a hypersonic nuclear-capable missile by China once again provides unwelcomed justification that our Intelligence Community continues to miss the mark. Unfortunately, we currently have no defensive system capable of engaging this threat to our national survival. Despite the fact that as a nation we expend billions of dollars to fund numerous three-letter agencies, history has proven that those who are charged with reading the intentions and capabilities of our potential competitors are never able to get it quite right. This week’s unpleasant “surprise” is yet again another in an extensive list of American intelligence failures.During...

The University of Oklahoma wants to hire an assistant professor that has a 'culturally responsive and sustaining mathematics pedagogy.' Though the listing does not specify a salary, the Glassdoor jobs platform estimates a comparable position at the university earns around $83,000. The University of Oklahoma is seeking a mathematics education professor versed in “equity and social justice.” The incumbent will teach within the Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education, which according to the job posting, “aspires to become a diverse and inclusive community of learners who engage in transformative scholarship with and in communities to advance justice and promote human dignity.”...

It’s always been just a little odd that the guy the Democrats most need to get on board to get their big transformational plans enacted is Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia, while at the same time the centerpiece of those plans is to put the most important industry of West Virginia, coal mining, completely out of business. That sounds like it’s going to be a tough sell. Is there any argument that might convince this guy to get with the program? In one of the funniest articles I have read anywhere recently, the New York Times thinks that it...

France’s tourism minister says he is considering whether to make the health pass compulsory for using ski lifts — which would largely rule out French skiing holidays for the unvaccinated. Tourism minister Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne is still working with industry representatives to make the definite plan for the 2021/22 ski season, but says that making health passports compulsory for ski lifts is “under consideration”. A full announcement is expected within the next few days. The health passport is already compulsory for many leisure activities in France including trips to bars and restaurants. It is also compulsory for long-distance train travel or...

As recently as late August, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said private businesses in his state were free to require that their employees be vaccinated against COVID-19. His press secretary explained that "private businesses don't need government running their business." Abbott evidently reassessed that premise because last week, he issued an executive order that says "no entity in Texas can compel receipt of a COVID-19 vaccine by any individual, including an employee or a consumer." For anyone who genuinely cares about overweening government interference with free enterprise, Abbott's order is just as objectionable as the pending federal rule demanding that private...

If voting machines are connected to the internet, they can be hacked. While there is evidence that there were cyber-attacks in all 50 states, the sad truth almost a year after the 2020 election debacle is that our voting machines are still connected to the internet. We are still vulnerable to cyber attacks in our future elections. Now is the time to take steps to prevent future cyber election fraud. Minimizing or eliminating their internet connectivity for the 2022 elections is still possible with some prudent steps that we can take now.

2:18 video scene here. Lonesome Dove is the best western ever made. This is my favorite scene with Gus. Enjoy! *HISTORICAL CONTEXT - The Western author Louis L'Amour was a maniac for historical accuracy. He wrote a series of fictional short stories about Chick Bowdrie, a late 19th century Texas Ranger. I have summarized his author's notes to describe this stage of Texas history: **Texas Rangers had wide discretionary power enforcing the law due to the great distances and bad weather. If jailing a "criminal" meant a family or others might suffer a Ranger would make a judgement based on...

Most college students, including a majority of white students, believe that racism is so rooted in America that whites need to be “re-educated” on the issue, and one way is through the forced teaching of critical race theory.

Cancel culture masquerades as “political correctness,” but it’s just another step from the list of communist objectives that was entered into the Congressional Record in 1963. New York City should be called “Moscow on the Hudson.” New York defunded its police department, decriminalized crimes, let prisoners out of jail, and threw bail out the window for “non-violent” criminals, all of which is out of the pinko playbook and has resulted in a crime wave that has walloped black people more than any other group. So what are Democrats doing to help black people? The last I heard, the Thomas Jefferson...

... In her 2010 book, Dirty Sexy Politics, she described Palin as a 'time bomb' and 'somebody who leaves a wake of confusion and chaos -- to the point of dizziness -- wherever she went. 'Yet McCain said her views on Palin have shifted. 'I have a whole new lens of viewing how Sarah Palin was treated and how the people working for my father's campaign really, you know, in my opinion, treated her really horribly, set her up for failure,' McCain told Hannity.

Manchin and fellow moderate Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz) have been in negotiations with Sanders and other progressive democrats for weeks over the price tag of the spending package. As Democrats go back and forth on the price tag of the spending bill, they are also discussing what to include in the legislation. The party could finalize the framework as early as this week.

As the left now offers condolences for the death of Colin Powell it's clarifying to recall what the left was saying about him before he began openly voting Democrat. Back in 2002, when the Bush administration was leading the country, Powell received what today is a common racial epithet the left uses towards minorities on the right. That year, famed calypso singer Harry Belafonte called Powell a “house slave.” During an interview with a San Diego-based radio show, Belafonte slammed Powell as that “slave” who got the privilege of living and working in the master’s house. “There’s an old saying...

Lincoln Project founder Steve Schmidt said Tuesday on MSNBC’s “The Beat” that MAGA people had “opted out of reality” regarding denial of the January 6 Capitol riot. Melber said, “You have, of course, a schizophrenic defense of January 6. Bannon and these folks are saying it was fine, in essence. Then you’ve got other folks saying maybe it was bad, but it wasn’t caused by Trump MAGA people, which is a type of lie or propaganda that matters.”

Boy oh Boy the Democrats are such a fickle group. After his endorsement of Barack Obama they rushed to embrace Colin Powell. Flaunting the significance of the endorsement. Yet as recently as February 2007 prominent African American Democrats such as Al Sharpton were calling Powell Bush’s House Negro: Singer, Activist, and Democrat Harry Belafonte Agreed In an interview on San Diego radio station KFMB-AM last Tuesday, Belafonte compared Powell to a plantation slave who moves into the slave owner’s house and says only things that will please his master. “There’s an old saying,” Belafonte said in that interview. “In the...

Thirteen-year-old children in American public schools were not quite as good at math and reading in 2019 and 2020 as they were in 2012. This is despite the fact that American taxpayers invested more money per pupil in the nation's public schools in each of the last two fiscal years than they did in 2012. Bottom line: Increased spending on public education did not pay off. In fiscal 2012, according to the Census Bureau, the United States spent $10,608 per pupil in its public elementary and secondary schools. In fiscal 2020, in the 35 states and the District of Columbia...

Tuesday on MSNBC’s “The Rachel Maddow Show,” Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS), the chairman of the House select committee investigating the January 6 riot at the Capitol, said the public would be shocked at the findings of their probe. Maddow said, “Can I ask you if you feel like thus far you have learned things that surprise you? You have, obviously, you are not ready to report what you found, not ready to tell the country what the results of your investigation are, but as far as it’s gone thus far, have you learned things that surprised you? Have you learned...

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Ky.) said late Tuesday that former White House strategist Steve Bannon’s refusal to cooperate with the House committee investigating the Capitol riot suggests President Trump was "personally involved in the planning and execution of January 6th." "Based on the committee’s investigation, it appears that Mr. Bannon had substantial advance knowledge of the plans for January 6th and likely had an important role in formulating those plans. Mr. Bannon was in the war room at the Willard on January 6th. He also appears to have detailed knowledge regarding the president’s efforts to sell millions of Americans the fraud...
