Lawmakers and military officials are reportedly outraged after the United States gave the Taliban a list of the names of Americans and Afghan allies to evacuate. According to a report from Politico on Thursday, American officials in Kabul "gave the Taliban a list of names of American citizens, green card holders and Afghan allies to grant entry into the militant-controlled outer perimeter of the city's airport." The report says this was intended to "expedite" the evacuation efforts but that the move has drawn outrage from military officials and from lawmakers.

At least twelve U.S. service members have been killed by the deadly terror attacks at the Kabul airport, which were reportedly carried out by ISIS. Fifteen others were reportedly wounded. And Joe Biden, the commander-in-chief, is nowhere to be found. No statements have been issued by the White House, save for “A Proclamation on Women’s Equality Day, 2021,” which is ironic considering the implications the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan has on Afghan women and girls. Biden has canceled various meetings scheduled for today in order to meet with defense officials, but he’s made no statement or public address. It is...

The German carmaker is replacing its Currywurst with vegetarian alternatives. After nearly 50 years, Volkswagen will no longer serve its famous made-in-house sausage at its Wolfsburg production plant. In 2019, the Volkswagen butcher’s shop still produced 7 million curry sausages. Volkswagen is cutting its meat production for the sake of sustainability, and it makes sense, but people are losing it over the announcement. As Politico put it, for some folks, this is just “the Wurst!” It flies in the face of decades of sausage-eating tradition. Currywurst production has been ongoing at VW since 1973 The sausage is such a VW...

Only a miracle can save this state, but if the recall of Governor Gavin Newsom were to go through (and all the illegal and fraudulent shenanigans in place don’t succeed) the reverberations would be felt everywhere. Even more miraculous would be the victory of Larry Elder as his replacement. If California goes, so goes the rest of America I say... Feel free to post thoughts and prayers to this end...

Gov. Gavin Newsom's Friday rally at the Cow Palace in Daly City is now a no-go after Vice President Kamala Harris announced that she would no longer be in attendance. Politico reporter Carla Marinucci broke the news via Nathan Click, a Democratic strategist and former communications guy for both Newsom and Harris. The report did not confirm why Harris no longer is scheduled to appear, but the announcement came hours after American forces were killed in bombings in Kabul, Afghansistan.

Over the last week, the media has hammered Joe Biden with relentlessly critical coverage of his pullout from Afghanistan, resulting in noticeable drops in his approval ratings. Put aside for a moment whether this reflects failures by Biden or biases by the media. One conclusion we can draw is that this sort of dynamic is a regular feature of Democratic presidencies, and — as the Trump administration showed — a near impossibility during Republican ones. Well, sort of. The mainstream media certainly gave Trump harsh and even overtly hostile coverage. But the mainstream media only describes roughly half the media...

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi fired off a series of tweets Thursday reminding everyone it’s Women’s Equality Day – her first posts on the platform after explosions outside the airport in Kabul, Afghanistan, left four U.S. Marines dead. "Today, and every day, let us summon the suffragists’ spirit of hope and strive to lift up the voices of women across the nation – because we know this truth: when women succeed, America succeeds," Pelosi, D-Calif., tweeted about noon Thursday. "Despite progress, women across the nation still face barriers to full equality: from shameful pay disparities to the unfair economic impacts of...

U.S. officials in Kabul gave the Taliban a list of names of American citizens, green card holders and Afghan allies to grant entry into the militant-controlled outer perimeter of the city’s airport, a choice that’s prompted outrage behind the scenes from lawmakers and military officials. “Basically, they just put all those Afghans on a kill list,” said one defense official, who like others spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive topic. “It’s just appalling and shocking and makes you feel unclean.” A spokesperson for U.S. Central Command declined to comment. The issue came up during a classified briefing...

But Americans don’t need to travel 7,500 miles to get a first-hand glimpse of the end of American order. In many of our own country’s major cities, gangs of masked thugs and criminals do what they please — and our far-better-armed police aren’t allowed to stop them and protect the rest of us.Take one August Sunday in Portland, Oregon, where two days ago political gangs roamed freely, beating people, including women, and even opening fire downtown. Meanwhile the police, who have been threatened with government action if they intervene, were nowhere to be seen.

Enough is enough. At least ten US service members have been killed in a terrorist attack at Kabul airport. But Biden assured us that no one’s being killed: “Oh, there is,” Biden said when asked about “pandemonium” near the airport by Stephanopoulos. “But, look – but no one’s being killed right now, God forgive me if I’m wrong about that, but no one’s being killed right now.” The US has been made a laughingstock by Joe Biden’s actions. His unilateral decision to abandon our allies in Afghanistan has been met with both scorn and ridicule. The United Kingdom’s Parliament on...

People who get migraines are less likely to develop type 2 diabetes, while some people who develop diabetes become less prone to migraines. Today, scientists studying the link between these conditions report how the peptides that cause migraine pain can influence production of insulin in mice, possibly by regulating the amount of secreted insulin or by increasing the number of pancreatic cells that produce it. The link between the two diseases isn't obvious: "Migraines happen in the brain, while diabetes is associated with the pancreas, and these organs are far from each other," says Thanh Do, Ph.D., the project's principal...

WASHINGTON — President Biden and his administration’s top staff cleared public events from their schedules Thursday as the deadly bombings near Kabul’s airport killed US service members and complicated an already desperate evacuation of Americans and at-risk Afghans. The grisly attack reportedly killed at least 12 US service members and wounded others, leaving the bodies of many Afghans strewn along a canal outside the airport. Biden was supposed to meet at 11:30 a.m. in the Oval Office with Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, but the meeting was delayed and then rescheduled to Friday. Biden also canceled a planned 3 p.m....

Coroner Karen Dilks heard Ms Shaw suffered from blood clots in her brain which caused a deadly stroke. She passed away at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle three weeks after the injection.
