Pray for Cardinal Burke: An Urgent Message from Archbishop ViganòEditor's Note: I reiterate The Remnant's urgent call for prayer for Raymond Cardinal Burke who at this moment is fighting for his life in hospital and on a ventilator. We must storm heaven for prayers for this holy and courageous shepherd.I'm not sure many of us fully realize how dire our situation becomes if, for whatever reason, God calls His good and faithful servant home during this most horrific moment in history. His Eminence richly deserves such heavenly reward, of course, but his passing would be felt by the Church Militant...

While Americans continue to squabble over diminishing civil rights, our counterparts in Australia are cannon-balling right into the deep end of totalitarianism.Americans typically think well of Australians. They’ve got a scrappy history, they’re irreverent and we love their actors. There’s a unique spirit that we seem to be drawn to, and we often mistake it for individualism. It isn’t that at all. It’s humor and sauciness (things we love) but Australia is still a Commonwealth nation. They have very European sensibilities and despite the valiant efforts of Europe in WWII, Europeans have never extricated themselves from the lure of socialism. In Australia,...

U.S. women’s soccer player Megan Rapinoe has antagonized many Americans with her kneeling during the anthem and pushing “wokeness” rather than concentrating on winning at soccer. But now that Rapinoe is done with her career, we’ve been seeing people come forward and oppose the kneeling stance. As we saw during the Olympics, another star player, Carli Lloyd, defied the wokeness and stood while the other players knelt before their last game. Like many Americans, I was thrilled to go on vacation this summer after a year marred by COVID restrictions. My family used to live overseas, so we took our kids to the EU to visit friends. It seemed like much-need therapy after a school year of isolation and mostly online learning. But COVID still complicated our travel plans. Even though all three of my kids over age 12 were fully vaccinated, as were my husband and I, we needed negative COVID tests to get through each airport. Even when returning to the United States, we needed to be tested again...

NEW YORK, Aug 17 (Reuters) - President Joe Biden's approval rating hit its lowest level so far as the U.S.-backed Afghan government collapsed over the weekend in an upheaval that sent thousands of civilians and Afghan military allies fleeing for their safety, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll. The national opinion poll, conducted on Monday, found that 46% of American adults approved of Biden's performance in office, the lowest recorded in weekly polls that started when Biden took office in January. It is also down from the 53% who felt the same way in a similar Reuters/Ipsos poll that ran on...

There is some speculation floating around social media (mostly, but not totally, from the right) that Democrats may try to pull the 25th Amendment card on Biden to push him aside and bring Kamala Harris forward in an effort to save face in this moment of geopolitical crisis. It is some of the same speculation you saw several times when the Left called for members of the Trump administration to turn on Trump and invoke the amendment. However, the Democrats have put themselves into such a terrible position that they absolutely cannot get rid of Biden through this means, or...

Biden landed at Fort McNair at about 9:05 PM ET and took a motorcade back to the White House, arriving 15 minutes later. The president was originally scheduled to return on Wednesday. But amid a growing chorus of criticism for his relative silence about Afghanistan and his absence from his main place of work while the country fell apart, the president decided to head back early. The White House had earlier Tuesday called a "lid," meaning no further movements or events were expected, so it appears the decision to return was made hastily during the afternoon. Biden briefly returned to...

Establishment Republican Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) said tonight at a GOP fundraiser in Illinois that Republicans shouldn’t “kid” themselves into believing that President Trump won the 2020 election, and there was “absolutely not” enough voter fraud for Biden to have won illegitimately. At the fundraiser in Cook County, described as the “home of election fraud,” Crenshaw took a Q&A question from Col. Larry Kaifesh, who asked him if he believed in election integrity efforts, and whether he believed that the November election was “rigged.” Unsurprisingly, Crenshaw, who was blasted as a coward by primary opponent Mike Billand for refusing to...
