The man who served as the White House physician to former Presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump is again demanding that President Joe Biden take a cognitive test, saying that it is becoming increasingly obvious that “there’s something concerning happening.” Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX) made the remarks in a Fox News interview published over the weekend, saying, “I think he’s demonstrating every single day that there is something going on.” “You don’t need to be a physician to look at this behavior and see there’s something concerning happening,” Jackson said. “You can go back – there’s forty years of tape...

MELBOURNE, Australia -- The Australian Grand Prix has been canceled after local organizers and Formula One couldn't come up with a compromise over Australia's strict travel and quarantine issues relating to the COVID-19 pandemic. The race was postponed from its original season-opening spot on the F1 calendar on March 21 and had been rescheduled for Nov. 21. The 2020 Australian GP at the Albert Park street circuit in Melbourne last March was called off at the last minute at the start of the coronavirus pandemic shutdown.

What is the most important defining characteristic of today’s progressive left movement? My answer to that question would be, hatred of America and everything it stands for. Progressive look at today’s United States, and all they can see are flaws. And they think they have a vision that can, through the magic powers of government coercion, fix all those flaws in short order. Ask college-age kids what they dislike most about America, and the answer you are likely to get is “capitalism.” But what is “capitalism”? The funny thing is that it’s not an “ism” at all. Except for the...

July 6, 2021 Tuesday of week 14 in Ordinary Time Santa Maria Goretti Parish Church, Manila Readings at MassLiturgical Colour: Green.First readingGenesis 32:23-33 ©Jacob wrestles with GodJacob rose, and taking his two wives and his two slave-girls and his eleven children he crossed the ford of the Jabbok. He took them and sent them across the stream and sent all his possessions over too. And Jacob was left alone. And there was one that wrestled with him until daybreak who, seeing that he could not master him, struck him in the socket of his hip, and Jacob’s hip was dislocated...

If there’s a silver lining to the COVID madness that swept America, savaged the economy, and allowed Democrats to put Joe Biden in the White House, it’s that a combination of distance learning and leftist hubris meant that the cultural Marxism in America’s classrooms hit home – and nowhere with greater impact than in New York, when upper-middle-class, White leftists discovered that the schools to which they’re paying huge sums annually are dedicated to teaching anti-White racism. The latest example was pricey Spence School, a staple for New York society girls. While the story broke three weeks ago, it’s heated...

One of the legacies of the late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, aside from his keen intellect and originalist interpretation of the US Constitution, was his masterful use of the English language, particularly using an obscure word or phrase to add color to his written opinions. He used one such phrase in a 2015 opinion regarding his colleagues’ reasoning in allowing healthcare subsidies nationwide, accusing them of “interpretive jiggery-pokery.” This term dates back to the late 1800s, describing dishonest manipulation or nonsense. Other dated but less colorful, words include hocus pocus, baloney, hogwash, hooey, or as President Joe Biden would...

So much for their being just "Danish-style" social democrats. Venezuela's "democratically elected" Marxist dictator Nicolás Maduro is a well known global pariah. He's driven his country's once vibrant oil industry into the ground, creating an ecological disaster to go with it. His socialist expropriations have made the country an economic hellhole, with six million Venezuelans driven out as refugees. On the political front, he's rigged elections, beaten and jailed dissidents, destroyed all independent branches of government such as the judiciary, and engaged in the sort of election fraud Democrats can only dream of. As for the starving remainders still in...

BUCKSTOWN, Pa. -- The Duppstadt's Country Store, sitting high on a plateau along the Lincoln Highway between Stoystown and Reels Corner, has served Somerset County residents and weary travelers since 1903. When you open the heavy wooden door and hear it creak with age, you get the sense you have entered somewhere special. Not because it has stayed frozen in time, but because it has stood the test of time -- surviving all the winds of change while adjusting and prevailing through every decade it has stood on its perch. From Civil War veterans stopping on their way to Gettysburg...

Last week, Dan Bongino talked about the pointlessness of arguing with the left. He said something like (I paraphrase from memory), "We think the left are simply people with bad ideas while the left thinks we are simply bad people." He went on to say that while pointless in terms of trying to convince the person with whom you're "arguing," it's worthwhile because others, who may be open-minded and paying attention, might be persuaded. This was driven home to me via a Facebook discussion that started out with a friend's cartoon suggesting that CRT is an innocuous addition to the...

No one likes to think of their own mortality or realize they have more days behind them than ahead. But one sure way to realize you’re on the back 9 is when the music you grew up with starts showing up on the “oldies” or classic rock station. Personally, I don’t have to worry about that – the music I liked growing up was wildly unpopular in its time and will never make a classic rock station. But the music Baby boomers grew up on is also what we Gen X’ers grew up with, having it forced on us by...

How parents are using facts to fight against Critical Race Theory in Brevard County, Florida. Critical Race Theory (“CRT”) is a dangerous ideology that eats away at America’s foundations. However, the attention it’s received recently provides an enormous opportunity for those Americans who have long been sounding the alarm about this formerly insidious, but now outright pernicious, movement. I am one of those Americans. I’m also the father of children in a school district infected by CRT. The district in question is Brevard Public Schools (BPS), in Brevard County, Florida. Brevard is a seemingly unlikely place to find CRT. Known...

America’s Founders recognized that domestic tranquility was one of government’s first responsibilities so what happens when Democrats abandon that duty? Although this journal is called the American Thinker it can be useful to hear the observations of a non-American thinker on what appear to be bewildering and growing problems in America. Public safety is perhaps the pre-eminent responsibility of government. If a government cannot protect its citizens against criminal members of its society, or even against the unlawful behavior of government itself, that nation no longer deserves to call itself a functioning democracy. Has the United States reached that point?...

California political donor Ed Buck’s “fetish” for paying Black men to allow him to inject them with methamphetamine - even while they were passed out - turned lethal when two men died of overdoses in his West Hollywood apartment, prosecutors allege in trial papers filed Friday. At the apartment, Buck “prepared methamphetamine syringes in a ritualistic fashion; some victims report that he required them to watch him do it,” the document alleges. “Buck’s preference was to personally inject victims, and he pressured or incentivized victims to let him do so, sometimes offering large cash bonuses to coerce a victim to...

A woman with Down's syndrome is heading to the High Court to challenge legislation which allows abortions up to birth for babies with the condition. Heidi Crowter, 26, from Coventry, is taking legal action against the Government because she believes the law is "downright discrimination". Maire Lea-Wilson, 33, an accountant and mother of two from west London whose son Aidan has Down's syndrome, is also bringing the legal challenge, which she hopes will remove "a specific instance of inequality of the law". In England, Wales and Scotland, there is a general 24-week time limit to have an abortion. But terminations...

It has been over six months since officer Chase Bebak-Miller shot and killed 17-year-old Anthony Cano as he complied with the officer’s orders. So far, no charges have been brought and the only ones receiving scrutiny from the police are family members who have been seeking justice. As is the case in most police killings, the Cano family’s justice is coming in the form of taxpayer dollars. In an extremely quick move, the city has already agreed to pay out over $1 million in a wrongful death lawsuit brought by Anthony’s family. Though they have won the settlement, the family...

TALIBAN insurgents have captured a brand new cargo of thousands of US weapons and vehicles as Afghanistan spirals out of control. Following the takeover of a former Afghan National Army base, the Taliban have come into the hands of thousands of unused weapons and vehicles intended for US and Afghan troops. From one base in Wardak province in the north of the country, Sky News showed how the insurgents have snatched an astonishing 900 brand new guns, 30 hummvies, 20 armoured pick-up trucks, thousands of rounds of ammunition and boxes upon boxes of brand new missiles and mortars.

The publication proposed a “three-stage battle plan” only a day after Chinese president, Xi Jinping, reaffirmed his pledge to reunify with Taiwan during a speech to mark the centenary anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The plan, published in Naval and Merchant Ships, outlined a rough three-pronged attack detailing the journey from initial disruption of infrastructure to the toppling of the Tsai Ing-wen’s government in Taipei. According to stage one of the plan, DF-16 short-range ballistic missiles would be launched at strategic sites to eliminate the island’s defences. The missiles would target airports, early warning radar, anti-air missile bases,...
