George H.W. Bush will always be best remembered for once holding the highest office in the land, but according to his longtime chief of staff, his life after the presidency was just as remarkable. That’s when Jean Becker’s tenure with the 41st president began, shortly after he left office in 1993 following his defeat to the 42nd president, Bill Clinton. “For the first couple of months after he lost the election, he was much quieter than usual,” Becker shared during a Monday morning chat with Bush’s granddaughter, TODAY’s own Jenna Bush Hager. “He sort of took his time to figure...

Geneva, Switzerland (CNN) — US President Joe Biden said he had discussed the cases of two Americans detained in Russia during his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday, pledging to "follow through" on that discussion. "I raised the case of two wrongfully imprisoned American citizens, Paul Whelan and Trevor Reed," Biden said during a news conference Wednesday following the summit in Geneva. "The families of the detained Americans came up and we discussed them. We're going to follow through with that discussion. I am not going to walk away on that," he added. A senior State Department official...

Sen. Joe Manchin has been one of just two Democrats, along with Kyrsten Sinema, to continually say that they aren’t open to abolishing the filibuster. To this point, the filibuster has stood in the way of Democrats seeking to pass all manner of insane bills. Previously, I opined that Sinema seemed more resolute than Manchin regarding her position. Well, that may have been a good bet on my part. A leaked phone call between Joe Manchin and a political advocacy group reveals the machinations being attempted by the West Virginian senator behind the scenes. Not only is Manchin signaling he’s...

Let's start by refreshing your memory on a few facts. Andrew McCabe, the former Deputy Director of the FBI, was fired from his job after a nonpartisan Inspector General determined that he'd lied under oath to federal investigators on multiple occasions. McCabe then started a GoFundMe, playing the victim as he manipulated 'Resistance' voters into sending him hundreds of thousands of their dollars. CNN, the self-professed "facts first" network proceeded to hire him as an analyst -- this man who'd been sacked for not telling the truth, under penalty of perjury. McCabe has used that platform to assail his critics,...

Just seen the Tucker Carlson show the other day about how the FBI infiltrated and RAN the Jan 6th "riot". Well, it's nothing new. Many people have been trying to sound the alarm for years about the FBI and their entrapment techniques. T They have mostly been setting up gullible Muslims and radicalizing them. We're talking loners who live with their parents suddenly turned into terrorist masterminds. I used to read the press releases and think "WTF?" some of the "plots" and their details were so outlandish they could not be true. Yet, the FBI and corrupt courts managed to...

A 39-year-old black man accused of shooting and injuring five people in Alabama and Georgia told authorities that his attacks were racially motivated and he was targeting white men, a detective testified on Monday. It’s going to be a scorcher of a summer when it comes to car rental prices, The Post has learned. The average daily cost to rent a car in the US jumped to a record $63.75 last month — with prices as much as 50 percent higher than pre-pandemic levels at some major brands — as the nation’s economy revved back to life, according to data collected by Jefferies, a New York investment bank. What’s more, demand is getting so hot — with fees for August already trending above $100 a day — that many vacationers can expect to pay...

The Pizza Bandit in Dayton, Ohio tested out what it calls a Spicy Thai Cicada Pie, which is made with cheese, onions, mango, spicy Thai sauce — and blanched and sautéed locally foraged cicadas. 'These crunchy cicadas add a heck of a note to an otherwise wonderful Thai inspired pie,' the restaurant wrote on Facebook. Cicadas are edible, though the FDA warns that those with seafood allergies should avoid them. The restaurant's recipe calls for miso hoisin sriracha sauce, mozzarella, provolone, cicadas, mushrooms, cabbage, green onion, mango, cilantro, and a spicy Thai sauce. They also baked cicada wings into the...

Set of photographs of stone lamp experiment. Credit: Medina-Alcaide et al, 2021, PLOS ONEA recreation of three common types of Paleolithic lighting systems (torches, grease lamps, and fireplaces) illuminates how Paleolithic cave dwellers might have traveled, lived, and created in the depths of their caves, according to a study published June 16, 2021 in the open-access journal PLOS ONE by Mª Ángeles Medina-Alcaide from the University of Cantabria, Spain, and colleagues. Humans need light to access the deepest areas of caves—and these visits also depend on the type of light available, as light intensity and duration, area of illumination, and...

It is not often that an ice cream parlor makes it into the Netherlands’ national news, but that’s exactly what happened when Robin Alting started selling raw herring ice cream in his shop in Rotterdam. Though Dutch diners are known for their love of herring, the incorporation of the fishy favorite into sweet ice cream was a step too far for some. The divisive flavor is a frozen blend of raw herring, onion, sugar, and cream. It’s been described as having the texture of traditional ice cream but the strong taste and smell of herring. Perhaps this pungency is the...

A gas station in Celina, Tennessee, went viral after tweeting about a trucker who just might be the 40-year-old comedian’s doppelgänger. And Schumer herself even hit social media, wondering what was going on. An image of Amelia, allegedly a truck driver who makes regular pit stops in Clay County, was shared Thursday afternoon on the Twitter account for what is reportedly the Celina 52 Truck Stop.

So-called “reporters” have been sending threatening messages to people, demanding they invent fake stories about Congressman Matt Gaetz in exchange for their names being kept out of the news. The office of Rep. Gaetz (FL-1) released the messages to John Solomon’s Just The News on Tuesday, appearing on the veteran reporter’s podcast on the same day. “[T]ime and time again, what a reporter will do is contact someone that maybe I’ve had a relationship with, maybe I haven’t had any relationship with, maybe I’ve only been in the same room with one time,” Gaetz told the John Solomon Reports podcast....

Throughout 2020 the Black Lives Matter terrorist group was linked to conservatively 91% of the riots that resulted in the most expensive property damage in US insurance history There were zero Trump rallies that turned violent during that same time period.
