Eilat Mazar, an Israeli archaeologist who came under criticism by colleagues for her reliance on the Bible as a historical text, died May 25 at age 64.“I work with the Bible in one hand and the tools of excavation in the other,” Mazar once told the Jerusalem Post. “The Bible is the most important historical source and therefore deserves special attention.”Mazar, the granddaughter of Russian Israeli immigrant and prominent archaeologist Benjamin Mazar, began getting her fingers dirty at age 11, as the elder Mazar tried to get as many family members as he could to assist on digs. She went...

Falsehoods about the election helped bring insurrectionists to the Capitol in January, and now some who are facing criminal charges for their actions during the riot hope their gullibility might save them, or at least engender some sympathy.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday shut down an attempt to treat the testimony of asylum-seekers as credible, siding with the federal government against people seeking refuge in the country. The court unanimously found that a previous ruling from the California-based U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit had incorrectly ruled that in immigration cases, noncitizens' testimonies must be treated as credible or true. The court vacated the 9th Circuit's decision and sent it back to lower courts for further consideration... ...In both cases, Justice Neil Gorsuch wrote, the 9th Circuit was wrong to interfere because of a technical question....

Ireland has become the first EU country to formally designate Israeli settlement expansion as “annexation” of Palestinian land. The Irish parliament, the Dáil, said so in a motion passed unanimously on Wednesday (26 May). “The scale, pace, and strategic nature of Israel’s actions on settlement expansion and the intent behind it have brought us to a point where we need to be honest about what is actually happening on the ground … it is de facto annexation,” Irish foreign minister Simon Coveney also told MPs in a debate on Tuesday prior to voting. “This is not something that I, or...

Does Joe Biden have it in for Kamala Harris? It would seem so. He seems intent upon assigning her jobs that are guaranteed to fail, based on how the Biden team approaches the questions.First, he assigned her responsibility for the border, as we reported, which is a complete and utter mess. Now, if they had just left President Donald Trump’s policies in place, they would have been in pretty good shape. But they blew all those up and created a disaster. Kamala, of course, did nothing to solve it. She didn’t even go to the border, that’s how interested she was...

The online retail giant Amazon.com Inc said on Tuesday that it will stop requiring jobseekers to take a cannabis test in the US, in line with laws in a growing number of states. Amazon will continue to check for other drugs and will keep on screening people for job positions that are regulated by the Department of Transportation, according to the company’s consumer boss Dave Clark. “In the past, like many employers, we’ve disqualified people from working at Amazon if they tested positive for marijuana use,” Clark said. “However, given where state laws are moving across the US, we’ve changed...

Federal health officials said people who have not yet received an authorized vaccine are also eligible to enroll in the...

In Part I of this analysis, I concluded there is a criminal conspiracy afoot among government, medical, media and corporate actors to convince, and if that fails force, every single American to be injected with the experimental, not-really-approved, mischaracterized and mislabeled COVID “vaccines.” Just one example of this has been the ruthless intimidation used to silence nurses who reported debilitating adverse vaccine reactions they experienced. In Part II, I conclude the COVID injections could soon kill more people than the virus itself – the treatment is worse, likely far worse, than the disease. 1) To comprehend what the vax cabal...

We’ve documented (read here & here) this spring of a “megadrought” sweeping through the western half of the country and could be one of the worst in decades. This is troubling news because major water reservoirs have already dropped to dangerously low levels, cutting off access to farmers. The latest US Drought Monitor map shows nearly the entire western half of the nation is experiencing some level of drought at this moment. Parts of the Southwest could be undergoing their second Dust Bowl as conditions continue to deteriorate. According to Reuters, for farmers like Joe Del Bosque, located in Firebaugh,...

This bill would have been very hard on the working class, says Tim Benson, a policy analyst at The Heartland Institute.“It might be hard for some people to believe, but California is the still the seventh-largest oil producing state in the country, and more than 150,000 Californians work in the industry,” Benson said. “Banning fracking would have put most of these people out of work.“Thanks to the state’s other ridiculous energy policies, California’s electricity prices are already 60 percent higher than the U.S. average and banning fracking would cause those costs to rise,” Benson said.Even some die-hard climate-alarmist California legislators...
