British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Irish counterpart Micheal Martin had earlier called for “calm” following days of violence that included a petrol-bomb attack on a moving bus. Neuralink demonstrates how it used its sensor hardware and brain implant to record a baseline of activity from this macaque (named ‘Pager’) as it played a game on-screen where it had to move a token to different squares using a joystick with its hand. Using that baseline data, Neuralink was able to use machine learning to anticipate where Pager was going to be moving the physical controller, and was eventually able to predict it accurately before the move was actually made. Researchers then removed the paddle entirely, and eventually did the same thing with Pong, ultimately ending up at a...

COVID-19 hot spot graphic (via The TODAY Show, https://twitter.com/TODAYshow/status/1380134029765263360 )Looks like The Today Show just may have committed what Rush Limbaugh used to call a “random act of journalism,” as Townhall reports. They did a piece wondering why some of the states with the strictest restrictions in the country, like Michigan and New York, were now experiencing surges in the Wuhan coronavirus while the places which removed restrictions and dropped mandates, like Texas and Arkansas, had decreasing cases? Some states with stricter rules are now seeing surges in COVID-19 cases, while many others that rushed to reopen are experiencing sizable drops....

When several Christian colleges sued to stop the Obama administration's proposed contraceptive mandate in 2013, their trade association briefly had their back. Forcing faith-based institutions to cover abortifacient drugs under the Affordable Care Act threatens "the religious liberty of all people and the entire nation," Edward Blews, then-president of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities, told the feds. When the final rule was released a few months later, however, the CCCU was reportedly silent. Several years later, not only the CCCU but some of its highest profile members are staying quiet about another potential infringement of their religious liberty:...

British media released new evidence of Hunter Biden’s sexual and drug escapades. According to the Daily Mail Thursday, Biden’s new book was designed to gloss over his immoral lifestyle while omitting key details of his illegal activities. The Mail found thousands of text messages dating back to 2019, which showed Hunter Biden begging his father Joe to run for president in order to save Hunter’s reputation. The texts also showed how Hunter repeatedly avoided police action over his purported ties to drug dealers. He apparently used the Secret Service to cover up his alleged binges with drugs and prostitutes back...

The coronavirus pandemic has caused sharp swings in the economy over the past year, thrusting many businesses and families into economic uncertainty and in some cases outright collapse. Even so, the number of national bankruptcies filed in 2020 was the lowest since 1986 and nearly 30 percent lower than in 2019. But many experts expect bankruptcies to increase in the coming years. The federal court system was closed near the beginning of the pandemic, which delayed filings for months. Moreover, bankruptcies also tend to be "lagging indicators" of economic distress because of the complex legal process involved; the Great Recession...

Brothers All. But With the Muslims, for Francis, All Is More ComplicatedFraternal dialogue among all the religions and doors open to immigrants of any faith.
