Globalization: A Catalyst for Terrorism, Global Instability, and World War: The object here is not to blame globalization for hostilities between cultures, nor to excuse hostile or malevolent reactions between cultures which are being exacerbated by the convergence of civilizations. Conflict with others who are different is innate between diverse people and cultures. However, the correlation between global conflict and the convergence of nations is worthy of consideration, not only to understand the source of tensions and global instability today, but also to understand how globalization is setting off different cultures into both aggressive and defensive modes. It is for...

For the uninitiated, a thin-skinned D-lister celebrity gave an interview to her billionaire talk show host friend about how austere aristocratic codes made her feel suffocated. This resulted in another talk show host, Piers Morgan, complaining on live television that there was a distinct possibility that the aforementioned celeb and her husband were perhaps full of it. Morgan’s exact phrase was that he “didn’t believe a word” of what Meghan Markle said. That bizarrely led to Meghan Markle complaining to the overarching supervisory media watchdog in Britain, which then led, nolens volens, to Morgan being fired. Enter Osbourne. Out of...

The Centers for Disease Control guidelines on social distancing may be changing again after a new study shows six feet of distance to avoid the spread of Wuhan coronavirus may not be necessary. During an interview with CNN over the weekend, Dr. Anthony Fauci acknowledged three feet of distance may be sufficient to reopen schools that remain closed. "There's this new study from researchers in Massachusetts, just out this week, it found no significant difference of coronavirus spread in schools where there was six feet of distancing vs. three feet of distancing. But that six foot requirement, that's one of...

Bun-kebabs, widely considered the most beloved Pakistani street food, are thin shami kebab or potato patties in fluffy, milky buns with tangy chutney and crisp vegetables. Optional fried eggs add an extra protein hit. The combination of explosive South Asian flavours, chutney-drenched buns and vegetarian options create a starkly different culinary experience from that of a burger. Ubiquitously available at kiosks and small shops or peddled on pushcarts throughout the country, they are generally sold for between 50 and 120 Pakistani rupees (£0.23-£0.55), depending on the neighbourhood. Some consider them Pakistan’s affordable (and zestier) answer to burgers Potato bun-kebabs have...

You can’t spend $1.9 trillion you do not have. So, now the administration is apparently giving weight to the likes of populist socialists like Senator Elizabeth Warren, and considering a wealth tax. When asked about the idea on ABC’s “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen admitted that, “that is something we haven’t decided yet and we can look at.” She did note that President Biden campaigned on his intention to raise taxes for individuals and corporations as well as capital gains and dividend taxes. A group of progressive lawmakers led by Senator Warren recently introduced legislation that...

The Scriptures record that Adam was ashamed and hid. It’s a primal response. Shame is experienced as a burning sense of exposure and vulnerability. It begs to be clothed upon and hidden. It is possible to say that human beings have been playing “dress-up” ever since. This can be understood in a literal manner as we wrap ourselves in fashion statements or tattoo identities on our skin. It can also be seen in an extended manner as we borrow identities from the various “tribes” with which we identify ourselves. In a very personal way, it is a thought that enters...

One of the most significant reasons conservative populism began to rise in 2009 was that these people lacked a connection or commonality with our cultural curators, and they weren't wrong. The people who run things in this country have little in common with the very people who use their products or watch their shows or attend their football or basketball games. Part of that reason is the culture curator boardrooms have very little diversity — not only racial or by gender, but also in culture. Rare is someone who attended a community college or state school with any input in...

Prince Harry still seems pretty upset about losing his Royal security privileges, and ya can't blame him ... especially because cops say he and Meghan Markle had an unwanted visitor on their property TWICE during the holidays. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... a 37-year-old man named Nickolas Brooks was caught trespassing at the Montecito, CA home of the Duke on Duchess on Christmas Eve, but Santa Barbara County Sheriff's officers let him off with a warning. We're told the warning didn't work because cops say Brooks showed up on the property again on Dec. 26 ... so this time...

The tremendous melting of the glaciers resulted in some recent archaeological discoveries revealing several well preserved historical objects, and one of these remarkable finds is the discoveries of artifacts from the Viking era on the hills that were once used for transportation purposes dated back to 300 A.D. as per the study. More glacial melt, although a disturbing factor of a much larger global warming effect, has provided ample shreds of evidence and remains of the age-old objects for todayâs generation advantageously. Artifacts from ancient time have been uncovered by ice patches which melted off the slopes of a rugged...

Two-thirds of entry-level tech jobs go to compliant foreign guest-workers, not to the young American professionals who may create a new wave of establishment-shaking companies, according to a report from Bloomberg. In 2018, “the U.S. had between 96,000 and 143,000 openings in IT occupations that typically went to candidates with a bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or engineering,” said the March 10 report, headlined “STEM Graduates Deserve a Better Path to Good Jobs.” But the government each year provides “Occupational Practical Training” (OPT) work permits to hundreds of thousands of foreigners who have paid tuition to American universities....

Some of my conservative friends worry that China is trying to impose its political system on the rest of the world. Ask the Chinese about this, and they look at you as if you’re crazy: There’s no way you barbarians could reproduce our system, even if you wanted to, they explain. You can’t accept failure. The key to China’s system is the willingness of its people to accept failure. The ticket to middle-class success in China is a university education, and 10 million Chinese high-school students take the entrance exam (Gaokao) every year. They study prodigiously, and the average Chinese...

For the same $6 trillion in expenditure, the government could have given every federal taxpayer a $41,870 check.President Biden just signed his sweeping $1.9 trillion spending package into law. Once this bill hits the books, total taxpayer expenditure on (ostensibly) COVID relief will hit $6 trillion—which, roughly estimated, comes out to $41,870 in spending per federal taxpayer. Did you see anywhere near that much in benefit? The sheer immensity of this spending is hard to grasp. For context, $6 trillion is more than one-fourth of what the US economy produces in an entire year, according to Fox Business. The COVID spending...

LONDON — Germany, Ireland and the Netherlands have joined the growing list of countries that have suspended the use of the coronavirus vaccine developed by AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford over blood clot concerns. On Monday, the German government also said it was suspending its use with the vaccine regulator, the Paul Ehrlich Institute, calling for further investigations. The World Health Organization has...

ROME, March 15, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) – The Catholic Church cannot bless homosexual relationships, the Vatican declared today, calling such blessings “illicit.” A question to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith about whether or not the Church has the “power to give the blessing to unions of persons of the same sex” was answered in the “negative” by the congregation’s prefect, Luis Cardinal Ladaria Ferrer. The congregation’s statement was assented to by Pope Francis. While the statement was signed Feb. 22, it was only released today. The Congregation stated that it is “not licit to impart a blessing on...

BERLIN (AP) — The German government said Monday that it’s suspending the use of AstraZeneca’s coronavirus vaccine over new reports of dangerous blood clots in connection with the shot. The Health Ministry said the decision was taken as a “precaution” and on the advice of Germany’s national vaccine regulator, the Paul Ehrlich Institute, which called for further investigation of the cases. In a statement, the ministry said the European Medicines Agency would decide “whether and how the new information will affect the authorization of the vaccine.”

On Sunday, Stacey Abrams said that Democrats need to eliminate the filibuster in the Senate to force through a US election reform bill. Abrams said that securing our democracy and voting was fundamental and deserved special treatment. Abrams comments are interesting given her own past involving elections. Abrams is a Democrat from Georgia who was famous for saying that she won the governor’s race in Georgia, despite losing by thousands of votes. She refused to concede the election and has remained prominent in state politics in Georgia.
