Forget lost puppies and horses, adult-like babies, and weird stunts involving snack foods. Instead, this year’s Super Bowl ads will prominently feature social and racial justice issues, along with Covid-19 messages, according to a sports business trade report, The NFL has already embraced such messages, placing “Black Lives Matter” on player helmets and in end zones. Super Bowl LV will be televised by CBS this year and played at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla. on Feb. 7 if the league schedule is not adjusted by pandemic concerns. “It’s going to be ‘Black Lives Matter,’ it’s going to be COVID....

[Catholic Caucus] Bishop’s Election in the Swiss Diocese of Chur Highlights Local Catholic DivisionsThe three-candidate list proposed by the Holy See was rejected by the diocese’s Cathedral Chapter, who have the ecclesiastical privilege to elect their bishop, reportedly for being too progressive. Greetings Me Droogs and Droogettes! Time for another round of Sergeant's Time Saturday! Because of my birfday gift, we'll go over one of the more common small arms in the military's arsenal. The older M203 and the newer replacement, the M320 40mm Grenade Launcher. The M203 is a rifled, single-shot 40 mm under-barrel grenade launcher designed to attach to a rifle. Thusly:

...the 1917 Halifax Explosion—the largest man-made blast of the preatomic age. On the morning of Dec. 6, 1917, the SS Mont-Blanc entered Halifax’s harbor carrying thousands of tons of explosives en route from New York to France for use in World War I. The Norwegian steamship SS Imo, traveling above the speed limit and in the wrong lane, was exiting the harbor. They collided. Unaware of the Mont-Blanc’s cargo, crowds gathered to see the fire. A sailor appraised train dispatcher Vince Coleman of the danger, and rather than flee, Coleman warned incoming trains: “Hold up the train. Ammunition ship afire...

Just a question for Democrat voters. To all those who serve the progressive agenda or whatever you call that declares free from the government. It is becoming difficult to keep up with all that you feel entitled to so I have a suggestion that will add clarity. Create a list of what you expect the citizens to provide for their welfare. Your well-meaning agenda can then concentrate on all the things the citizens cannot do for themselves. Neither your agenda nor the citizen will have to provide the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness already provided by...
  • Proposal: Require banks to run our elections as a condition of their federal charter and FDIC membership. Their handling of ballots would be as strictly and uniformly regulated as their handling of money.

FDIC - member banks are heavily regulated for uniformity and integrity in their handling of money The conduct of federal elections should be equally uniform and strictly regulated Why not assign federally charted banks the responsibility of running federal elections? The “system” we’ve got now would shame many third world countries for its chaotic lack of organization, reliability, and integrity Just a thought

Remington is, presumably, still manufacturing the 700 CP in .308 ... anyone know of an outlet that can reliably (if not quickly) get one if ordered? In these "everything but 6.5 sells out immediately" times, seems most/all local & online dealers just get stuff randomly and sell immediately. I'm looking for somewhere reliably expecting to get it, can give updated status, and will actually hold it for me when they do.

Next year is "going to be catastrophic" in terms of worldwide humanitarian crises, World Food Program executive director David Beasley warned on Friday, per Reuters. Driving the news: The stark outlook comes as many countries contend with not only the coronavirus pandemic, but also possible famine, economic instability, conflict and other humanitarian crises. A record 235 million people will need humanitarian assistance and protection next year, a nearly 40% increase from 2020, the UN projected earlier this week On Wednesday, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres urged nations to take greater action on climate change to end the "war on nature," saying...

“Messengers Marking Out the Messiah” (Mark 1:1-8) In centuries past, in lands where there were kings, when the king was about to go visit various parts of his realm, messengers would be sent out, heralds, to go ahead to each town and announce the soon arrival of that mighty monarch. “The king is coming! Everybody get ready! The king is on his way!” And the people would know what to do. They would clean up any trash littering their town. If there were potholes in the roads, those would get filled in. Got to have everything in order for the...

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — California’s stay-at-home announcement also includes effectively banning leisure travel. All non-essential travel is restricted statewide. This is an effort to stop people from mixing with others outside their household, getting the virus, and spreading it once they get home. But hotels and flights are already booked. So, what now

Tesla CEO Elon Musk put his California houses on the market this year while he was sparring with state lawmakers over Covid-19 restrictions. He’s simultaneously been expanding operations in Texas and cozying up to Republican Gov. Greg Abbott. Now, several of his close friends and associates say that Musk has told them he’s planning to move to the Lone Star State. The people with knowledge of his plans asked not to be named because their conversations were private. Musk, the world’s second-wealthiest person behind Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, is in Texas frequently already. He spends most of his time between Austin,...
