[vanity] Reliable gun source in chronically sold-out times?
Posted on 12/05/2020 12:09:57 PM PST by ctdonath2
Remington is, presumably, still manufacturing the 700 CP in .308 ... anyone know of an outlet that can reliably (if not quickly) get one if ordered?
In these "everything but 6.5 sells out immediately" times, seems most/all local & online dealers just get stuff randomly and sell immediately. I'm looking for somewhere reliably expecting to get it, can give updated status, and will actually hold it for me when they do.

I'm sure others are facing the same issue: want Gun X, and some assurance Store Y can deliver it (rather than "call back later ... maybe"). Thoughts?

PM me which handgun you’re looking for and a means to contact you. I’m selling out.

Look at Bravo Company Manufacturing under Dan Bongino sponsors:
https://bongino.com/sponsors
They have their own website but I think you can get a promo code through Dan’s website.

gunsamerica or gunbroker probably your best bet. You can arrange for an interstate transfer through a licensed dealer.

Don’t know if they do business where you are located, but the guy at Big 5 told me the other day that he is getting a steady but limited stream from Marlin and Savage. They sell out right away but one might be able to put down a deposit to have one held.

Don’t bother, you’ll soon be a felon if people here get their way in having the Republicans LOSE in the Georgia Senate elections.
Might as well not waste your money.

Online searches work, but large gun shops like Specialty Sports & Supply in Colorado Springs also has large inventories. I know the owner and have bought from there for 30 years. They are without question one of the top 5 largest private gun shops in the nation.

Remington plants closed a couple of weeks ago. They get laid off the remaining people. I live close by it.

Voters “get their way” or communists steal it by stuffing ballot boxes until they “win”?

When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns.
You can call me Billy the Kid. I follow the US Constitution. The felons will Come to take our guns.

Another vote for GunBroker. I don't know if you can get the best price but they are a good aggregator of all things firearm related.

Sturm, Ruger bought Marlin.
As for the non-Marlin operations, the firearms manufacturing went to one buyer (Roundhill, backed by mystery money), and the trademarks and brands went to a different buyer (the maker of Federal ammunition and Bushnell scopes).
It’s unclear to me if Roundhill has the right to sell firearms under the Remington name. And where the mystery money is coming from.

Don't believe the Gloom & Doom crowd here. Remington DID go bankrupt, and was sold off. But they ARE NOT out of business! They are under new ownership, and will reappear in time. Meanwhile, it is a sellers market, so supply is very low.
I suggest that you find a seller online that seemed reasonable, and offer to put a deposit on what ever rifle you desire. A deposit tells them you're a serious buyer and you will be treated accordingly. Line up your local transfer deal as well.
Alternatively maybe your local transfer dealer may take a deposit and help you finding what you want/need. Also search Gunbroker.
Additionally I suggest that you open you selection to include Savage and maybe others. Your local dealer will be able to help you with this.
It is a tough market to be shopping for something, and being picky will severely limit your success.
My 2¢.
