For months, scientists and public health experts have warned of mounting evidence that the novel coronavirus is airborne, transmitted through tiny droplets called aerosols that linger in the air much longer than the larger globs that come from coughing or sneezing. Now, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention agrees. The CDC recently changed its official guidance to note that aerosols are “thought to be the main way the virus spreads” and to warn that poorly ventilated indoor spaces are particularly dangerous.

Donald Trump might be the most controversial president since Abraham Lincoln. The other day Trump compared himself to Lincoln in a civil rights context and ignited another media tantrum. Surely, Trump is no match for Lincoln's lawyerly reticence or rhetorical eloquence. As for having the courage to fire arrogant or incompetent subordinates, Trump is more than Lincoln's equal. Trump/Lincoln parallels are coming into sharp relief as another presidential election looms. Like Lincoln, Trump has a civil war on his hands; and like Lincoln faces a second term might be more hazardous than the first. President Trump has been besieged by...

Today, I am taking new actions to restrict Iran’s nuclear, ballistic missile, and conventional weapons pursuits. My Administration will never allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon, nor will we allow Iran to endanger the rest of the world with a fresh supply of ballistic missiles and conventional arms. To ensure this cannot happen, I am issuing a new Executive Order, restoring United Nations (UN) sanctions on Iran, and imposing new sanctions and export controls on more than two dozen entities and individuals that support Iran’s nuclear, missile, and conventional arms-related activities. The Executive Order I am issuing today blocks...

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including the Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (Public Law 115-44), the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (50 U.S.C. 1701 et seq.) Touted as the first big televised awards event, the 72nd Emmy Awards aired on September 20 on ABC. The host of the virtual event was late night show host Jimmy Kimmel. Kimmel's jokes and bits in front of no live audience were cringe-inducing. Two notable instances came when his opening monologue took a hit at MAGA rallies and when banter with actor Anthony Anderson included a demand for Kimmel to shout "Black Lives Matter!" so "Mike Pence can hear it."

A white bar-owner in Nebraska committed suicide months after he fatally shot a black rioter who vandalized his business and attacked him. Though prosecutors originally deemed the shooting was in self-defense after reviewing video and witness testimony, the position was reversed after pressure. “Mr. [Jake] Gardner, as we know now, has said I did what I did to defend myself and we find that we can’t disprove that from the evidence that we have,” Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine said in June. According to Kleine, James Scurlock, the victim, jumped on Gardner’s back and started to choke him after Gardner...

So I'm sitting at my kitchen table with the back door open and hear a plane buzzing around outside. I go to take a look and it's one of those planes pulling a banner. Can't read what it says so I break out the bino's and in big red font, it reads "Trump 2020!" Anyone in the San Jose area seeing it?

"You know and I know what we're talking about", Biden endlessly repeated in his ignoramissimo tour de force performance leading the Senate confirmation hearing of Justice Thomas. (He was trying to imply he, Biden, was "on the indside" with Clarence Thomas, about knowing that Roe v Wade was what it was all about, in a smirky, smarky way, Biden himself perhaps rolling his own eyes.)"One of the things you do in hearings, is you have to site there and look attentively [without rolling your eyes] at people you know have no idea what they're talking about." - Justice Clarence Thomas

The left has pounced on late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s “fervent wish” that her seat isn’t filled until after the election as though it’s law that must be followed. But what they seem to have forgotten is what she said in 2016 about filling a vacancy during an election year. When the Republican-controlled Senate blocked former President Obama’s pick of Merrick Garland to fill the late Antonin Scalia’s seat, Ginsburg instructed them to proceed with reviewing the nomination. “That’s their job,” she told The New York Times in an interview. “There’s nothing in the Constitution that says the president stops...

Besides the obvious changes in formant and technical reach due to the coronavirus pandemic, Jimmy Kimmel’s third time as host saw a lot of firsts at the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards last night. For one, there was a host again after the TV Academy show ceremony tried to be like the 2019 Oscars and go without a frontman or frontwoman. Then there was the unprecedented total sweep by Canadian comedy Schitt’s Creek of every category it was nominated in. That sweep also saw a first for an import from the Great White North in a top series category. Additionally, with...

Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner attempted to explain why her show cut off Newt Gingrich while he tried to address left-wing billionaire George Soros. Gingrich, the former House Speaker, joined a group of panelists Wednesday and was asked his opinion on violence and unrest afflicting major American cities. He accurately pointed out Soros’ role in trying to overhaul the U.S. justice system by pouring money into district attorney races across the country. The problem, Gingrich opined, was due to “George Soros-elected, left-wing, anti-police, pro-criminal district attorneys who refuse to keep people locked up.” “Progressive district attorneys are anti-police, pro-criminal, and...

President Trump on Monday claimed he would win the presidential election if House Speaker Nancy Pelosi actually attempted to use impeachment as an option to block his eventual Supreme Court nominee from being confirmed to the seat vacated by the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Archbishop Viganò: Is Vatican II “Untouchable”? Peter Kwasniewski’s recent commentary, titled “Why Viganò’s critique of the Council must be taken seriously”, impressed me greatly. It appeared (here) on OnePeterFive, on June 29, and is one of the articles on which I have been meaning to comment: I do so now, with gratitude to the author and publisher for the opportunity they have given me. First, it seems to me that I can agree with practically all of what Kwasniewski has written: his analysis of the facts is extremely clear and polished and reflects my thoughts exactly. What I am...

Michigan is one state where you think Senators would not think of a course of action that fails to respect the Second Amendment. Sadly, that is not the case with either Debbie Stabenow or Gary Peters. In 2018, John James didn’t beat Stabenow, but he came within seven points – polls had shown Stabenow with as much as a 17-point margin. Aside from his 2018 Senate run, James is a newcomer to politics. After that race, he was considered for the UN Ambassador spot vacated by Nikki Haley, but the Trump Administration went with a different candidate. James is now...

After two Los Angeles sheriff’s deputies were shot and critically wounded on Saturday, Joe Biden warned, “Weapons of war have no place in our communities." And within just hours of the attack, Biden tweeted in praise of the original bans on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, which lasted from 1994 to 2004. “These bans saved lives, and Congress should never have let them expire,” he wrote. A handgun, not an assault rifle, was used to shoot the deputies. But it seems that Biden never misses an opportunity to deceptively complain about “weapons of war.”

Key Points Shares of Nikola slid roughly 30% in premarket trading Monday after company founder and Executive Chairman Trevor Milton resigned. They rebounded slightly and were down 20% in morning trading. Stephen Girsky, a former vice chairman of General Motors and a member of Nikola’s board, has been appointed chairman of the board, effective immediately. Milton’s departure follows the release of a report by short seller Hindenburg Research accusing him of making false statements about the company’s technology. =================================================================================== Shares of Nikola opened Monday at their lowest price since the company went public June 4 after company founder and Executive...
