When socialist darling Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez first floated her “Green New Deal,” it was an intangible vision for society rather than a concrete policy proposal. Even after the New York Democrat and her acolytes added details (including a ban on airplanes and flatulent cows) in a voluminous range of policies costing an astounding $93 trillion, the idea of running the economy without fossil fuels seemed unthinkable. Now, however, thanks to the pandemic lockdown of society, the public is in a position to judge what the “Green New Deal” revolution would look like. It's like redoing this global pandemic and economic...

NASA has reprocessed images of Jupiter’s moon Europa that were captured by its Galileo spacecraft back in the 1990s. The reprocessed versions of the images reveal the moon’s surface in stunning detail, highlighting what NASA refers to as ‘chaos terrain’ and a variety of details about the features found on the surface. The new versions of the images are made possible using modern image processing technologies. The image data was originally captured in the late 1990s, according to NASA, making them more than 20 years old. New image processing techniques have given the space agency the opportunity to revisit this...

This account from the London Chronicle, June 5, 1766 refers to the disappearance and alleged murder of the informer John Bridge. We’ve visited this case previously, in the form of Father Nicholas Sheehy, who had also been drawn and quartered a few months previous for the Bridge affair; collectively, these cases are pretext for state reprisal against the Irish Whiteboys movement, which opposed large landholders’ moves to consolidate estates, expel tenants, and let people starve while the land that once fed them was shifted towards commercial agriculture.

Former vice president Joe Biden, who was scrutinized for his handling of sexual harassment allegations made in Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas’s 1991 Senate confirmation hearings, said Monday night that any woman’s public claims of assault should be presumed to be true. Speaking generally, Biden added, “For a woman to come forward in the glaring lights of focus, nationally, you’ve got to start off with the presumption that at least the essence of what she’s talking about is real, whether or not she forgets facts, whether or not it’s been made worse or better over time. But nobody fails to...

The Wearing of the Masks and DeSantis By: Jordon Westcoat, BNJ Contributor Once again Trumpians are saying that the real reason for the mask is to scare the bejesus out of all of us so that we will be willing to give up our first born to the whims of so-called medical experts. Ridiculous! The masks save lives. Without them millions more people will die of the deadly Covid! All Trump cares about is money. He didn’t want to secure everyone in a safe space because he is afraid of losing the election; especially, if the economy crashes and many...

A 95% plunge in passengers. Billions in losses. A rush for new debt. A recovery that executives expect to take years. Coronavirus is roiling the airline industry and the Oracle of Omaha has seen enough. Warren Buffett told investors Saturday that Berkshire Hathaway has sold its entire stakes in the four largest U.S. airlines — American, Delta, Southwest, United — as the pandemic upends another bet on the sector that the famed investor had shunned for years before a surprise return in 2016. “And it turned out I was wrong about that business because of something that was not in...

In the past few weeks, I have heard two or perhaps three interviews with South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem and I think the most impressive thing I have heard her say(she has said many impressive things) repeatedly is not just that she swore an oath to defend and uphold the United States Constitution, but also her State constitution. I find this to be extremely impressive, since I find that far too often some people are willing to let themselves forget that America has more than one Constitution. As an example, here is a past article from something Noem said: ""I...

CHICAGO (WLS) -- You may have heard stories of farmers having to dump milk in Wisconsin or plow under potatoes in Idaho. Since there are no farmer's markets in operation, and most restaurants have severely cut back on their regular orders, a lot of farmers in the area have been pivoting, working with companies that have existing distribution channels. ABC7's Hungry Hound talked to a couple of them this week, to see how they're helping downstate farms stay in business. **SNIP** That's why he's turning to people like Jon Schiff, the CEO of Real Good Stuff Company, which focused on...

Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI) accused Michigan protesters last week of depicting “some of the worst racism” in America’s history. According to the Michigan governor, those protesting her coronavirus measures had “swastikas, Confederate flags, nooses.” Whitmer said, “We know that people are not all happy about having to take the stay-at-home posture, and you know what, I’m not either. The fact of the matter is we have to listen to epidemiologists and public health experts. Displays like the one we saw at the state capitol are not representative of who we are. There were...

AUSTIN, Texas - Police say 22 people are behind bars after a group of over 30 cars drove onto I35 at a speed of 5 miles per hour to demand rent relief. “It's frustrating to see us working so hard for justice and to bring like these things to light, and then to be silenced like this by APD is expected, but still disappointing,” said one protester. A rent strike organized by Rent Strike ATX brought traffic to a near standstill after multiple cars protested rent on the interstate. “We were fighting no rent while we can't work during this...

The president has signaled that his administration is "noticing" the abuse of civil rights; the DOJ is alerting the public that its attention is turning toward this issue. For now, President Trump is allowing the outlandish farce to continue because the public flat wouldn't believe what the Dems and Deep Staters are capable of, what their plans are, unless they saw them for themselves. From sea to shining sea, the public is APALLED at the totalitarian aspirations of those who claim to want to protect us - and most importantly - those who want their candidate to become president in...

WASHINGTON (AP) — U.S. officials believe China covered up the extent of the coronavirus outbreak — and how contagious the disease is — to stock up on medical supplies needed to respond to it, intelligence documents show. Chinese leaders “intentionally concealed the severity” of the pandemic from the world in early January, according to a four-page Department of Homeland Security report dated May 1 and obtained by The Associated Press. The revelation comes as the Trump administration has intensified its criticism of China, with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo saying Sunday that China was responsible for the spread of disease...

President Trump said Tuesday he’s planning to hold another Fourth of July celebration on the National Mall in Washington, one of the first big events he’s proposed since the COVID-19 pandemic hit. “On July 4, we will be doing what we had at the Mall,” Mr. Trump said at the White House. “We’re going to be doing it. Last year was a tremendous success and I would imagine we’ll do it, hopefully I can use the term ‘forever.’ That was a great success.” Last year, Mr. Trump for the first time in his presidency delivered remarks on Independence Day on...
