Dean Baquet is not a very bright guy. The New York Times isn't there for any obvious reason except his willingness to be both a token, and, unlike his predecessor, submissive to the Sulzberg clan, while pushing assorted identity politics agendas. It takes a very 'not bright guy' to make the admission that Baquet did about the Times' hit piece on Tara Reade, the former Biden Senate staffer who had accused him of sexual assault. The New York Times whitewashing piece had initially included and then deleted a paragraph that attracted a lot of attention. ***"The Times found no pattern...

The suit was filed in the federal court for the Central District of California and also names state Attorney General Xavier Becerra and officials of San Bernardino and Riverside counties. It seeks to block the governor’s coronavirus stay-at-home orders, which don’t exempt houses of worship as “essential” infrastructure and prohibits group gatherings, according to the Associated Press. James Moffatt, senior pastor at Church Unlimited and a plaintiff in the...

WASHINGTON - The U.S. military believes that the coronavirus likely occurred naturally, as opposed to being developed in a Chinese laboratory, but there is still no certainty either way, the top U.S. general said on Tuesday. “There’s a lot of rumor and speculation in a wide variety of media, the blog sites, etc. It should be no surprise to you that we’ve taken a keen interest in that and we’ve had a lot of intelligence take a hard look at that,” Army General Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told a news briefing, when asked if there...

The announcement by Bernie Sanders that he is no longer campaigning for the Democrat presidential nomination has caused a wave of very depressed reactions from his supporters. Many of these reactions, as you can see in this video, are quite funny. The only person not depressed is the last guy who sees Sanders ending his campaign as a great opportunity to push for Communist revolution.

Oregon Gov. Kate Brown on Tuesday announced the state’s initial framework for lifting statewide closures affecting millions across the state, saying she would take a slow, science-based approach to deciding how to move forward, without specifying when it would happen. “I’m not going to put a date on this,” Brown said. The governor said she wants five things to be in place before gradually lifting the unprecedented stay-at-home restrictions: A declining growth rate of active cases, sufficient personal protective equipment for healthcare workers, surge capacity in hospitals, increased testing capacity, tracing and isolating positive cases and strategies to protect vulnerable...

Pinellas County’s world-famous beaches have been nearly empty for three weeks, but that could change on Thursday. During an emergency meeting Monday for the Pinellas County Commission to extend emergency orders, a majority of the seven commissioners said they want information for a Thursday meeting so they can consider opening private pools at condominiums and parts of the county’s beaches for exercise and recreation. One such scenario could allow residents to use the shoreline for walking and jogging, but not allow crowds to congregate in beach chairs or under canopies. Another could allow private condominium pools to open, but would...

Sometimes, the best way to get what you want is simply to ask for it. An elderly woman in Pennsylvania recently made headlines for her simple request to help her get through the coronavirus lockdown. She didn’t ask for much, she just wanted more beer. Well, her request has been answered – and then some – after Molson Coors saw her plea go viral on social media. ~snip~ We came. We saw. Germany has been advised to reopen its schools and stores following the coronavirus pandemic. As everyone knows, New York City is the main center of COVID-19 infection and fatality in the U.S., with something like 40% of all American deaths. The reasons why shouldn’t be a mystery. When the Black Death struck Europe in the 14th Century, people had no idea what caused the disease, and all of their theories were wrong. But experience showed, as was the case in later plagues, that the countryside was safer than the city. Most people who could decamped from cities to the country. And New York City, with more than 28,000 people per square mile, is by...
