Oregon Gov. Kate Brown on Tuesday announced the state’s initial framework for lifting statewide closures affecting millions across the state, saying she would take a slow, science-based approach to deciding how to move forward, without specifying when it would happen.
“I’m not going to put a date on this,” Brown said.
The governor said she wants five things to be in place before gradually lifting the unprecedented stay-at-home restrictions: A declining growth rate of active cases, sufficient personal protective equipment for healthcare workers, surge capacity in hospitals, increased testing capacity, tracing and isolating positive cases and strategies to protect vulnerable communities including nursing homes and the homeless population.
“This is only a framework,” Brown said in a press conference. “We have to be cautious or it will backfire.”

I agree. When the days are long and sunny and the temperature rises into the 70s and 80s there ain’t no way anyone is going to keep the kids confined to the house or yard for days on end ... not without a complete loss of sanity that will make fear of the Chinese Flu look like a relaxation seminar in comparison.
They are just trying to steal the win from Trump.
Fortunately, unlike the GOP-e, Trump already has a plan.
Trump has been trained in the A-B-C methodology.
You have three plans, all getting you to the same place.
A) Most risk, most reward.
B) Backup to A
C) If everything falls apart, this is gets you across the goal.

I don't see a "sure thing" victory for Trump. Here's one good analyst's take on the current electoral map. If you suppose that everything tending blue ends up going Biden and everything tending red ends up going for Trump: you are going to have a very close election, decided in only four states.
And, if that's the situation it is a much easier map for Biden to win with, then for Trump to win with.
Trump needs to win 3 of the 4 to win. Biden can win with any two. So, Biden's odds are about 70% -- if those 4 states were decided with coin-tosses.

The only way they’re going to keep people and especially kids from going outside and playing is to go full-Nazi.
Washington and Oregon are chock-full of Gestapo-wannabe Karens (male and female) who would love to go out and take pictures and names of neighborhood kids who will not stay indoors, then report it to whatever ‘authority’the governors deem will handle this. I can just see the local sheriff or State Patrol showing up and either handing out a ticket or even going so far as to remove a child or adult for ‘multiple infractions’.

I have had to take my husband to the hospital twice since this started. Both times, at two different hospitals, they were practically empty. So the bit about hospital capacity is ridiculous from what I can tell.
remarkable that none of their party people are out a check...not one....all the govt workers enjoying a spring vacation with full pay...
This ding-bat has all sorts of criteria before reopening the state, but did not require squat to shut it down!
