Seattle's top cop may want to get her priorities straightened out. In the midst of the global COVID-19 pandemic, Police Chief Carmen Best used her most recent "chief's brief" update on the coronavirus crisis to urge residents to dial 911 if they are the victims of racist name-calling. It's a time-wasting imperative—and one that's at odds with the First Amendment. In her briefing, Best called upon the expertise of a former local news anchor, Lori Matsukawa. "Hate crimes have no place in our community," said Matsukawa. "We are all trying to deal with the COVID-19 public health crisis together. If...

Ohio will suffer more death and destruction after a judge allowed abortion facilities in the state to continue elective abortions during the coronavirus pandemic. Even though there is nothing essential about aborting an unborn baby, Ohio District Court Judge Michael Barrett ruled late Monday that closing abortion facilities would cause “irreparable harm” to women, according to National Review. Ohio is one of several states that included elective abortions in their bans on non-essential medical procedures during the global health crisis. The orders are meant to save lives by conserving medical resources and preventing further spread of the virus. However, Planned...

Hundreds of stranded Americans left Nepal on a repatriation flight Tuesday, days after a complete lockdown was imposed in the Himalayan nation to help fight the coronavirus. A Qatar Airways flight arranged by the U.S. government flew 302 Americans from Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport to Washington, D.C. The elderly, families with children and people with a medical condition were given priority on the flight. The U.S. Embassy in Nepal estimates that 3,000 to 4,000 Americans are still in the country but says not all of them are seeking to leave. Plans for future flights to evacuate more of the Americans...

RUSH: Well, I guess the big news now is Fredo Cuomo of CNN has tested positive for coronavirus and will be quarantining in his basement. His brother, the governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, has just revealed details of all of this, continuing to speak about it. It was almost a life review here of Chris Cuomo, how he became a lawyer, then a journalist, and how the dad was a very domineering personality and told Fredo that he better become a lawyer. It’s kind of… I don’t want to characterize it. But it was strange for somebody still alive....

Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, revealed on Tuesday that White House coronavirus task force is seriously considering guidance that all Americans wear masks to help thwart the disease's spread. But Fauci also acknowledged that such a directive has been complicated by the nationwide dearth of personal protective equipment. "The idea of getting a much more broad, community-wide use of masks outside of the health care setting is under very active discussion at the task force. The CDC group is looking at that very carefully," Fauci told CNN. "The thing that has inhibited...

Twenty-one Democratic attorneys general are asking government agencies to lift restrictions on an abortion-inducing drug because of the coronavirus pandemic. California attorney general Xavier Becerra sent a letter signed by 20 other Democratic attorneys general to the Department of Health and Human Services and the Food and Drug Administration on March 30. The letter requests the rescinding of a safety program required for medication that carries health risks and demands that the two departments allow easier access to abortion medication, facilitating abortions that could happen without the patient having to leave her home. The request for significantly loosened restrictions on...

While China’s factory activity hit an all-time low in February, numbers released yesterday showed the country’s manufacturing sector started growing again in March... China may be getting back to work, but the rest of the world is reading this in PJs. As major economies from the U.S. to India go into hibernation to slow the coronavirus pandemic, there’s very little interest in widgets made from Chinese assembly lines. “The biggest problem facing China’s economy in the second quarter is the slumping foreign demand,” economist Nie Wen told Reuters. Orders for new Chinese exports, including steel, are being canceled as the...

When this passes the USofA should create tax incentives to bring manufacturing back to America and DESTROY China. The United States of America is the BASF of the world. "We make everything better and faster."

Add West Virginia to the list of states where the governor has banned abortions along with, other non-essential medical procedures, to help fight the coronavirus by conserving medical supplies. Governor Jim Justice, with the support of Attorney General Patrick Morrisey, has announced that all health care facilities postpone all surgeries and procedures that are not medically necessary during the current COVID-19 pandemic. In his statement the Governor said he would “suspend all elective medical procedures” effective 11:59 p.m. tonight. The purpose of these directives is to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to preserve personal protective equipment (PPE) for use...

RUSH: Barack Hussein O has tweeted! Obama has weighed in. Quote, “We’ve seen all too terribly the consequences of those who denied warnings of a pandemic.” Who the hell is he talking about? Pelosi? The Democrats in New York City? He said, “We can’t afford any more consequences of climate denial.” So now they’re linking climate change to this virus, to this pandemic — which started in China — and that’s just the first two lines of the tweet. There’s more to it. BREAK TRANSCRIPT RUSH: Here’s the rest of Obama’s tweet. Let me get back to it. In fact,...

Send in the clowns. There ought to be clowns. – Last week, two craven political hack governors – Steve Sisolak in Nevada and the detestable Gretchen Whitmer in Michigan – made the indefensible decision to deny their citizens the right to be treated with hydroxychloroquine for the Wuhan Virus. On Sunday, the FDA issued an emergency authorization to doctors to use that cheap, highly-effective drug across the United States. Today, the two circus clown Governors reversed their stupid edicts, now allowing those who contract the Virus in their states to be treated with the drugs. Better late than never. From...

A herd of goats has taken over a deserted town centre, eating hedges and flowers from gardens. Usually, the wild herd of about 122 Kashmiri goats venture from the Great Orme into Llandudno during bad weather. But town councillor Carol Marubbi believes the lack of people around because of coronavirus has drawn them down. "They are curious, goats are, and I think they are wondering what's going on like everybody else," she said. The goats - some of which have recently had kids - have been spotted nibbling flowers. "There are very few visitors on the top [of the Orme],...

--SNIP-- This is why we can’t have nice things. It’s obvious that despite the escalation of this deadly virus, people are not respecting courteous requests from state and local governments to stay at home. Either Philadelphians don’t understand what it means to practice social distancing or simply do not care to. None of this is okay. As irresponsible behavior continues, more and more people are put at risk of exposure. We are now at that part of the pandemic where we should stop requesting and start enforcing. Playtime is over. Mayor Kenney, for the good of the city and its...

Per the NY Times, as China moves forward with expelling almost all American journalists from three major American newspapers, Trump administration officials have intensified discussions over whether to evict employees of Chinese media outlets who they say mainly act as spies. The action is under consideration because some U.S. officials want to retaliate against China in a new conflict that has revolved around news organizations and is being fueled by hostility over the coronavirus pandemic.

The United States, as a whole, is roughly two weeks away from reaching the peak of the coronavirus pandemic, but the peaks for individual states will vary, with most occurring over the next four weeks, according to projections from the University of Washington’s Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME). When it comes to the arrival of the coronavirus, not all states are facing the same timeline. Some states, like New York and Louisiana, have quickly become epicenters of the virus in the United States and, as a result, will reach a resource peak weeks sooner than states like Kentucky...

Former National Security Adviser Susan Rice suggested Monday that President Trump’s recent confrontation with a black female reporter displayed his dislike for strong women in general and black women in particular. During Sunday’s White House coronavirus task force briefing, the president told PBS correspondent Yamiche Alcindor to “be nice” and to not be “threatening” in response to a question about Trump’s claim that state governors were requesting supplies to fight the coronavirus pandemic that they didn’t actually need. “You go, girl,” Rice tweeted at Alcindor. “Pathetic when insecure men can’t stomach strong black women.” “I’m not the first human being,...
