The New York Times economist blowhard Paul Krugman seems to think communist China is more adept at handling the coronavirus pandemic than the United States.Krugman took advantage of the ongoing coronavirus issue to plaster a lazy, highly-politicized tweet against President Donald Trump and the U.S., saying, “America's response to the coronavirus is the worst in the world, which is shocking and has a lot to do with a leader [Trump] who is completely unfit, temperamentally and intellectually, for the job,” Krugman tweeted March 29. The tweet included a graph showing the comparative virus case trajectories of different countries.

Malaria medicine 'Hydroxychloroquine' is being administered to 1,100 coronavirus patients in New York, President Donald Trump has said, exuding confidence that the drug, touted as a "game-changer" by him, might give some incredible results in the fight against the disease that has infected over 140,000 people in the country. An inexpensive drug widely used since 1955 to treat malaria, Hydroxychloroquine is considered to have relatively harmless side effects. It is being tested out on the COVID-19 patients in New York on an experimental basis, hoping that this will give a solution in the treatment against the novel coronavirus. "Hydroxychloroquine is...

Since the last day to complete the Census is tomorrow, I was curious if there was a census tracking website and I came across this one. With one day left, the responses seem very low. Keep in mind this is an on-line census so there should be no delays because the completed forms are 'in the mail'. It looks to me this on-line census didn't produce the higher responses than mail-in forms. There are going to be a lot of follow-up visits required but do they have the staff even without the current coronavirus crisis. Trouble ahead for congressional redistricting...

AUSTIN, Texas (CBSDFW.COM/CBS NEWS) – A federal judge halted Texas’s temporary ban on abortion on Monday afternoon, allowing the procedure to resume despite the state’s suspension of “non-essential” procedures, which explicitly included pregnancy termination. Judge Lee Yeakel wrote in the nine-page court filing that Texas’s directive to ban the procedure would cause patients to “suffer serious and irreparable harm.”

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio threatened to close churches and synagogues “permanently” if they refuse to stop services during the coronavirus outbreak. The Democrat mayor’s comments Friday sparked wide-spread outrage, and lawsuits are a near certainty if he follows through with the threat. New York City is one of the areas hardest hit by the coronavirus. On Friday, de Blasio held a press conference about their on-going efforts to treat those infected and prevent further spread. The measures include a city-wide stay-at-home order, closure of non-essential businesses and a ban on large gatherings, including religious services. “The NYPD,...

Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost has had enough of the FDA's dithering over approval of an innovative process that could get millions of N95 masks to hospitals and other healthcare facilities, where they are in critically short supply as the Chinese coronavirus continues to stretch their resources. "If this isn't cleared up by morning, I'm ready to sue the FDA," Yost wrote on his Facebook page on Sunday afternoon. What's the problem? Yost says the FDA is limiting the number of masks that an Ohio Company, Battelle Memorial Institute, can sterilize for reuse. The company has pioneered a technology that...

Granite City, IL – It was a weekend characterized by stay-at-home orders, hand-washing decrees, social distancing, and limits on groups to under ten people, but at the Hope Clinic for Women in Granite City, Illinois, those rules that all Americans were expected to follow, were blatantly ignored. At that abortion facility, it was a weekend to pack in the women like sardines so they could be herded through the clinic for abortions. It was in a very real sense, a germ-sharing party in progress. License plates reflected a booming interstate commerce, with cars coming from six different states, in violation...

The extent of the Roman influence in Ireland has long been debated. The Classical texts imply that due to Ireland's peripheral location, it was not a desirable destination. However the archaeological record has been helping to shed more light on the actual events of this time. Roman objects discovered in Irish contexts exist but they are relatively uncommon, and subsequently the...

Pro-life Christians are being persecuted across the United States for trying to save unborn babies from abortion during the coronavirus outbreak. While many state and local governments have issued orders to prevent the spread of the coronavirus and save lives, some are allowing abortion facilities to remain open and continue killing unborn babies. On Saturday, pro-lifers with Love Life said they tried to follow social distancing mandates while still ministering to people outside an abortion facility in Greensboro, North Carolina. “At least 20 children were brought to that abortion center to be murdered [Saturday],” the pro-life organization said in a...

The current outbreak of Covid-19, a coronavirus, has reawakened memories of previous pandemicsPlague, pandemic and pestilence have long been themes for writers, historians and poets, from Giovanni Boccaccio’s medieval The Decameron and Daniel Defoe’s A Journal of the Plague Year to, more recently, Blindness by Nobel Prize winner Jose Saramago. Nowhere is this more true than the Middle East and North Africa, which has a centuries-old tradition of writing about illness and medicine. One of the most famous works is The Plague, by French-Algerian writer Albert Camus. Published in 1947, it is set in the Algerian city of Oran and...
