Fox News senior judicial analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano reacted to the Harvey Weinstein verdict on “America’s Newsroom” Monday, calling it a "significant victory" for the disgraced movie producer and a "monumental setback" for prosecutors. Weinstein, 67, was convicted of first-degree commission of a criminal sexual act and third-degree rape but was acquitted of two more serious charges of predatory sexual assault, as well as first-degree rape. The charges Weinstein was convicted of carry a total sentence of up to 29 years in prison. “He’s still facing serious time," Napolitano said. "But, these are not the life sentences, the big ones...

Francis Cardinal: Abu Dhabi Document Is Bomb with Time Fuze "The Abu Dhabi document is a bomb with delayed effect," Rabat Cardinal Cristóbal Lopez Romero said at a February 22 presser in Bari, Italy. He meant this positively, “It will bear fruit in the next 5, 10, 20 years.”According to him “the stage of dialogue, which consisted of tolerance, is over.” Now, the “dialogue of friendship, hospitality, mutual knowledge, respect and openness to each other and collaboration to build a better world has begun.”Lopez sees this as a sign of “the Spirit at work.”It is noticeable that the modernist would never...

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) — One of every three people in Venezuela is struggling to put enough food on the table to meet minimum nutrition requirements as the nation’s severe economic contraction and political upheaval persists, according to a study published Sunday by the U.N. World Food Program. A nationwide survey based on data from 8,375 questionnaires reveals a startling picture of the large number of Venezuelans surviving off a diet consisting largely of tubers and beans as hyperinflation renders many salaries worthless. A total of 9.3 million people – roughly one-third of the population – are moderately or severely food...

Most cases are not life-threatening, which is also what makes the virus a historic challenge to contain (big snip) The Harvard epidemiology professor Marc Lipsitch is exacting in his diction, even for an epidemiologist. Twice in our conversation he started to say something, then paused and said, “Actually, let me start again.” So it’s striking when one of the points he wanted to get exactly right was this: “I think the likely outcome is that it will ultimately not be containable.” …Lipsitch predicts that, within the coming year, some 40 to 70 percent of people around the world will be...

Just did a quick check on the four tv stations in Miami. If you didn't know, Crazy Bernie praised the communist regime in Cuba on 60 Minutes. Lots of people fled Cuba for south Florida. You might think the local Miami media would be interested in such a story, but not so much. The CBS station did cover it--after all, 60 Minutes is on CBS. The NBC station WTVJ also has a story on the web site mentioning Bernie's dumb remarks. ABC and Fox have not.

Liberal billionaire Warren Buffett, who’s been fairly quiet this election cycle, took to CNBC to weigh in on the Democratic primary races. Buffett said during an interview on CNBC’s Squawk Box that “I’m very much in sympathy with the fact that Senator Sanders believes that a lot of people are getting left behind and through no fault of their own.” Buffett continued: “[T]here’s all kinds of aspects of capitalism that need, in some ways, to be regulated. But I don’t believe in giving up the capitalist system.” [Emphasis added.] However, Buffett stated that he would have “no trouble” voting for...

ZAGREB, Croatia (AP) – Croatia’s president and government joined activists Monday in expressing outrage at the burning during a carnival of an effigy showing a same-sex couple with their child. The incident occurred Sunday in the southern town of Imotski. A large effigy showing two men embracing each other was torched in front of cheering festival goers to the sound of the funeral music. President Zoran Milanovic condemned the incident as an “inhumane, totally unacceptable act.” He demanded that the organizers apologize, while an LGBT group announced legal action. “The event was observed by many children who could witness the...

President Trump has turned his back on hundreds of thousands of children and young immigrants who came forward and put their trust in our government. This Administration has chosen to ignore what American voters have said they think is right. Nearly 80 percent of voters want to protect the legal status of Dreamers.Ending the program is devastating not just for recipients, but for our economy. California businesses would lose more than a billion dollars in turnover costs. Attorney General Sessions claims this decision is full of "compassion," but real compassion would be treating Dreamers "with heart," as President Trump himself...

On Sunday, Fidel Castro’s ashes were buried in a cemetery on the edge of Santiago de Cuba, a city that is to Cuba what Harlem is to New York. The remains of the 90-year-old revolutionary were interred near the tomb of Jose Marti, a white journalist and poet who led Cuba’s 19th century fight for independence from Spain. Marti is considered the father of the Cuban nation. Burying Castro close to Marti is, no doubt, intended to equate the communist leader who ruled Cuba with an iron fist for 49 years to Marti, who in just 42 years of life...

China won’t be a nation of “silent lambs in the face of malicious insults and smearing”, a spokesman with the country’s foreign ministry vowed on Monday, as Beijing continued to lash out at The Wall Street Journal over a commentary it has deemed racist. Zhao Lijian, a former senior diplomat in Pakistan, made the remarks while hosting his first press conference since being named deputy director of the Chinese foreign ministry’s information office in August. His comments came a week after Beijing expelled three reporters with the New York-based newspaper over an opinion piece headlined “China is the real sick...

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is just one step away from becoming the Democrat presidential candidate by advocating a socialist system that “has snuffed out the lives, fortunes and wealth of hundreds of millions,” conservative commentator and former Secret Service agent warned Saturday. In a Fox News Channel interview with Host Jesse Watters, Bongino called it “insane” that the freest country in history would be entertaining the idea of electing someone who claims to be a socialist, but is actually a millionaire, “limousine liberal” who owns three homes: 1 min Video in article “I’m serious: we live in the United States...

Monday, February 24, 2020 Contact: (916) 210-6000, agpressoffice@doj.ca.gov SACRAMENTO — Attorney General Xavier Becerra today issued the following decision in response to the Ninth Circuit decision in California's Title X case."Today's court ruling on the Trump Administration’s Gag Rule is troubling. Canada is presently in the throes of social and political disintegration. A left-leaning electorate has once again empowered a socialist government promoting all the lunatic ideological shibboleths of the day: global warming or “climate change,” radical feminism, indigenous sovereignty, expansionary government, environmental strangulation of energy production, and the presumed efficiency of totalitarian legislation. Industry and manufacturing are abandoning the country in droves and heading south. Canada is now reaping the whirlwind. The Red-Green Axis consisting of social justice warriors, hereditary band chiefs, renewable energy cronies, cultural Marxists, and their political and media enablers have effectively shut down the country. The...
