Richard Maidment, 42, shot his partner Sarabeth Forbes after she returned to their home a day after moving out in April 2017. At trial, Maidment was found not guilty of first degree murder by way of insanity. He stood to inherit all of his wife's life insurance policy until her mother staked a claim to it for their 10-year-old son. Maidment's mother, the boy's other grandmother, fought it on, claiming her mentally ill son was entitled to it. The insurance company left it up to a court to decide and this week, Justice Frank Edwards decided to award the money...

The Trump administration is reportedly planning to unveil a rule this week aimed at cracking down on "birth tourism" — a term referring to pregnant women traveling to the U.S. in order to give birth and secure U.S. citizenship for their child. Three officials told Axios on Sunday that the plain will be unveiled in the days ahead, though it was unclear what enforcement mechanism would be utilized by the administration to prevent birth tourism. President Trump has previously threatened to issue executive orders nullifying birthright citizenship, which is enshrined in the Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution. "This change is...

Media darling Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her fellow “squad” members have never been shy about their plan to shove the Democratic Party toward adopting socialist principles. And now that we’re more than a year and a half into the AOC era, it’s clear that their two-part plan is working. The first component of their plan is to reshape the Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC) into a powerful political force in Congress. Historically, the caucus, which began in the 1990s, has been primarily a club for left-wing congressional Democrats. But it had little political power because of its members’ unwillingness to vote as...

On the radio this past week, I mentioned Alan Jay Lerner, author of My Fair Lady, Camelot, Brigadoon, Gigi, On a Clear Day You Can See Forever, etc. And about twenty minutes after I came off-air I remembered a conversation I had with him decades back. The Pope was on tour somewhere (my estimate from the time period would be eastern Canada): he'd landed at the airport to be greeted by a shy moppet bearing a garland of flowers, and he'd kissed her head. And Alan showed me the headline above the picture in the newspaper: Thank Heaven for Little...

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) is calling for the U.S. to legalize currently illicit drugs. “If we take that step to legalize and regulate, then we're no longer treating people who are struggling with substance addiction and abuse as criminals and instead getting them the help that they need,” the 2020 presidential candidate said at a campaign stop in Merrimack, New Hampshire on Friday. She was responding to a voter who asked whether her plan to end the war on drugs centered on more harm reduction and treatment or if it involved moving to “legalize and regulate narcotics so that you're...

Hey, Kansas City Chiefs, you are looking LIV. Fifty years after their only Super Bowl victory, the Kansas City Chiefs are headed back. Led by the phenomenal play of quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and a defense that hardened like ice, the Chiefs secured their spot in Super Bowl LIV on Sunday with a 35-24 victory over the Tennessee Titans in the AFC Championship Game at a frigid-but-rollicking Arrowhead Stadium.

Clips tagged #Swamp How five members of Joe Biden’s family got rich through his connections Political figures have long used their families to route power and benefits for their own self-enrichment. In my new book , “Profiles in Corruption: Abuse of Power by America’s Progressive Elite,” one particular politician — Joe Biden — emerges as the king of the sweetheart deal, with no less than five family members benefiting from his largesse, favorable access and powerful position for commercial gain. A judge had tough questions for the DA's office at this week's Ed Buck hearing Defense attorneys for Los Angeles...

There are now over 100 million Amazon Prime members. Therefore, a lot of trucks are needed to get those good from here to there and from there to here. I'm seeing more and more of them out on the roadways. I bought a book from them in 1995 when they were just a small outfit. It was the 1994 edition of PASSPORT TO WORLD BAND RADIO.

Rep. Adam B. Schiff is promoting a new anti-Trump witness whose public allegations have been met with vehement denials and at least one lawsuit. Lev Parnas and his attorney have been lobbying to become a star Schiff impeachment witness in a Senate trial as part of the congressman’s drive to remove President Trump from office. Mr. Schiff, California Democrat and chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, injected Mr. Parnas last week into the impeachment record. He and other Democrats released two troves of Parnas downloads from his various electronic devices including texts, emails and photos of himself...
