Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends) Elijah Cummings died. – I have nothing nice to say about him, so I will say nothing at all. Here’s a link to the AP article about his death, which of course is a thoroughly one-sided, glowing review of his life. Somehow the Republic and Baltimore will survive. San Fran Nan is sick. – At least, according to President Donald Trump, who issued the tweet below after Pelosi blew up yet again in a White House meeting and staged a very theatrical walkout along with Chuck Schumer and Steny Hoyer: Donald J....

History is the account of vast social movements and cultural changes. To be sure, individuals play their part. But they are usually understood to be products of their times. The Reformation, though, whose five-hundredth anniversary we observe this year and whose impact on not only the church but the world has been monumental, was largely precipitated by one man: Martin Luther. Yes, vast social movements and cultural changes were at work in sixteenth-century Europe. But Luther caused many of them, such as the educational explosion that would lead to universal literacy, the rise of the middle class, and eventually democratic...

Fox Business’ Lou Dobbs spoke with House Republican whip Steve Scalise tonight and confronted him on why he (and so many other Republicans) voted with the Democrats to rebuke President Donald Trump‘s Syria withdrawal decision. Scalise was at the White House meeting this afternoon that top Democrats left after what they described as a “meltdown” from President Donald Trump. Scalise said Trump laid out his plan to contain ISIS terrorists “because we don’t want them to run loose.” Dobbs teed off about how Republicans need to do more to back up the president, particularly on the issue of “international police...

Foreign meddling, anyone? In a move that's sure to turn some Canadian voters off, resident Obama stepped in and offered his endorsement to Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. ... Barack Obama on Wednesday endorsed Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau‘s reelection bid, a high-profile boost to the Liberal leader‘s campaign less than a week before voters head to the polls. ... Seems foreign interference in other countries' elections is all right so long as Democrats do it. But never mind the Canadians, this one paints quite a picture of hypocrisy. Trudeau, recall, is yet another woke leftist who's had photos of...

On the evening of 15 October 1956 a Pan American Airlines Stratocruiser named Clipper Sovereign of the Skies lifted off from Honolulu, headed to San Francisco on a 2,000-mile flight. 24 passengers and seven crew were flying the final leg of their around-the-world flight, but still had 2,000 miles of open ocean to cross. 4 hours, 38 minutes into the nine-hour flight Capt. Richard Ogg climbed from 13,000 feet to 21,000. After leveling off, Clipper‘s Number 1 engine started spinning out of control. The cockpit suddenly jolts and the high-pitched noise of the runaway engine can be heard inside the...

Morning "And David said in his heart, I shall now perish one day by the hand of Saul." 1 Samuel 27:1 The thought of David's heart at this time was a false thought, because he certainly had no ground for thinking that God's anointing him by Samuel was intended to be left as an empty unmeaning act. On no one occasion had the Lord deserted his servant; he had been placed in perilous positions very often, but not one instance had occurred in which divine interposition had not delivered him. The trials to which he had been exposed had been...

Rep. Elijah Cummings, the powerful House Democrat who represented Baltimore for more than two decades and was a vocal critic of President Trump, died early Thursday after battling health problems, his office said in a statement. It was the worst thing one Democrat could call another, particularly a woman, and especially a woman of color. Old white man Bernie Sanders went below the belt this week when he dropped the “C” word on Native American Elizabeth Warren. The Vermont socialist called younger squaw a “capitalist.” There was a time, believe it or not, when this would not be controversial. But that day is done. The Democratic Party has moved so far to the left they make the Chinese government seem open to new ideas. You’d never know it if you learned about politics from the legacy...

By Yi Whan-woo, Kim Yoo-chul As nuclear negotiations between North Korea and the United States remain in a stalemate after no "substantial outcome" from their recent encounter in Sweden, the lack of visible progress in the denuclearization dialogue is raising concerns that the North is "buying time" for its military and nuclear advancement. During an Asan Institute for Policy Studies security forum held in Seoul, Tuesday, Bruce Bennett, a senior defense analyst at the Washington-based RAND Corporation, claimed that despite North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's promise to end his nuclear program, Pyongyang has not taken any meaningful measures toward this....

The clown show known as the Democratic Presidential debates has given us a sneak preview of our future government. There are a few things all the candidates agree on, open borders with mass immigration, an insanely increased welfare state, massive tax increases on the middle class, and an omnipotent government. All are fighting for the support of the socialist extreme of their party. This endorsement of socialism and extreme progressivism will either be devastating for the Democratic Party or our Republic. Never has generous welfare and open borders succeeded. In years past, I would point to the European countries as...

In those 18 innings, he allowed nine hits, two runs -- only one of which was earned -- two walks and 12 strikeouts. On July 19, 1955, Vernon Law was the starting pitcher in the Pirates’ 4-3 win over the Milwaukee Braves. Law, nicknamed The Deacon, was not the winning pitcher and didn’t even get a complete game on that Tuesday night at Forbes Field. But...

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The Republican National Committee has launched an ambitious fundraiser to help the Democrats televise a debate every weeknight. The move is expected to drum up significant support for the Republicans, not on their own merit but on the wackiness of the Dems. "Look, it's tough for us to raise money by just saying the same talking points we've been using for years," said RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel. "Frankly, a lot of our policy positions are kind weird and not all that conservative. But if we can just let the Democrats talk for hours every night, we're sure to win."...

nthony Scaramucci says President Donald Trump’s “meltdown” is going to get a whole lot worse. On Wednesday night, the former White House communications director who was fired after just 10 days on the job said on CNN that Trump was looking at his future “and the future does not look good for him.” “As more facts unfold about Syria, as more facts unfold about the people that have been arrested recently, and the conjoinment of all those issues over there, it’s going to be devastating for the president,” he said. Scaramucci also predicted that Republicans in the Senate will soon...
